The food was good, the service good but a bit slow. It is a very noisey restaurant even in the back dining area. It can make it challenging for older ears to hear all the conversation at our table.

The waitress was absolutely awesome and dealt with my food allergy proactively. My food was very good but my friend’s chilaquiles were extremely soggy.

My friends and I made a reservation at The Happy Gnome for a special shared occasion. The atmosphere was friendly and comfortable at 5:00 p.m., and the wait staff was efficient and hospitable. Between us, we had the carnitas tacos, wild rice soup, and the baby kale salad. All three were incredible and very well presented. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend for any special occasion, meeting, family event or adventure in St. Paul. Loved it.

Was a really fun place to go for a birthday the food portions are huge and the beer list is immense. Really funky joint will be fun to return when it’s warm to utilize the outdoor seating.

The menu seemed to have gotten 'heavier'.
Way too much bacon (cubes of bacon fat) in the kale salad... the how salad/dressing and all,
tasted like nothing but bacon...
Please introduce some lighter fare and a new creative salad or two..

The atmosphere was warm, the waiter charming, and the apple raisin crisp memorable. We were there on a Monday afternoon in the dining room. It was quiet and perfect for conversation.

We went on Palm Sunday between church and a play at the History Theater. Very busy. Parking lot was full but found a spot on the street a block away. Food and service was excellent. Would have loved to try the make your own Bloody Mary bar, but was afraid I'd fall asleep during the play.

We always have our monthly team meeting at Happy Gnome. We plan for Happy Hour and often stay longer. It has fun, unusual food, great beer, and great service and is always fun. Opps I said fun twice, but that is not overstating. Happy Hour at Happy Gnome sets the tone I want for my team. Thanks

Good beer selection, but the “American Fries” (cubed potatoes) were over-spiced, my medium burger was quite rare, while my French fries were over-cooked, and my friend’s egg rolls were COLD, so I’m a bit underwhelmed by the food, but nothing was awful, and I may well give them a second chance some day.

We had brunch at the Happy Gnome on a Sunday and were happy to get in right away at 10am. We both had the Breakfast Sammie and were really impressed. To go with we loaded up seem Bloody Mary's from the table of goodies and had a fun time. There were 6 different bloody mary mixes to choose from and up-scaled meats/cheeses/olives etc. to add on. Would go again during the morning!

Made a reservation and our party of 4 was seated in the back which was considerably more quiet than the bar up front where the entrance is located. Service was good, food selections a bit too eclectic for me but everyone seemed to enjoy their choices.

Great beer list with over 50 taps of craft beer. You can order beer flights of 5 if you want to tour the beer list. The food is comfort chic/high end bar fare. They do a great job of refreshing the menu pretty regularly, but keep some of the favorites year round. Check out the Game Burger or Duck Burger.
