The Happ Inn
Friday and Saturday the Kitchen is open from 11:00AM to 11PM
Sundays the Kitchen is open from 11:00AM to 8:30PM
Good food, allways ok, the owner allways around checking that all is right.
One of my favorites
Great food, great drink, great service. We loved the food and beer.
Great work review.
Had a great dinner experience here!
Took a friend there to celebrate her birthday. My trio of soup, salad and slider was good (bun could have been fresher). Friend's salad was excellent. She was given a cupcake (free) to celebrate her birthday. It was worth what I paid for it (dry and tasteless)
The service was extremely slow. There was a lot of time in between getting our drinks and taking our food order. The cornbread was very crumbly, not up to Happ Inn standards Fried chicken was great. Slow refills on iced tea and water.
I told waiter my friends bday and no complimentary dessert was offered— also we walked into ur private bar to free up our table— we were told we Absolutely couldn’t sit there— we did not feel welcome in ur restaurant
We have been coming here for years and enjoying it as a family. However, the last three visits have been mediocre at best the food has been less flavorful and well prepared, and overall the service spotty.
We have a 7:45 reservation but had to wait 25 minutes
Well, I have always enjoyed their chopped cobb. This night it wasn't so great. Probably partly my fault. Trying to diet and I modified it somewhat. But mostly their fault. I have Celiac and told the waiter that it had to be Gluten Free and why. Sure enough it came with a big triangle shaped cracker stuck in the middle. That wasn't the worst problem. Our waiter, Mosis had the BO; not must a little case but huge and lingering. Bad enough that it made the food unappealing.
Also, the icing on the cake was that for some reason they had the heat on. It wasn't that cold outside [high 50's] and certainly not enough to warrant the heat to be turned on.
So.... will I go back again? Probably, because it's an easy meeting place for people coming from different directions who want casual. Otherwise I probably wouldn't.
Willow street salad was bad. Chicken dry and dates/figs fry too. Should have sent it back. My friends whitefish was tasteless.
never disapointed, Happ In always deliver, good everything
great campari cocktail
The food was ok, not great, and it was hard to carry on a conversation because of all the hussle and bussle. Service was better than the food. It was pricier than I expected. But others must differ because the place was really crowded
The waitress was very pleasant. The food was OK. BUT, Our group was 4 adults and 2 young children aged 3 and 1. We got the check and they included a mandatory 20 percent service charge. I was pretty surprised. We were not a party of 6 adults, and besides, 20 percent in a family type restaurant seems excessive. Just be aware before you decide to go there.
This restaurant has excelled for many years, and our recent experience there indicates that it continues to do so. The wait staff was outstanding (informed, friendly, good at reading the pace at which we wished to dine, and genuinely nice), as were the food and beverages. The seating was particularly comfortable (one of the booths), and we could conduct a conversation without being bombarded by noise from televisions or other distractions. Highly recommended.
Great food plus gluten free options.
Fantastic server, Sandra who is outstanding!!!
Kids love coming here.
This was my first time eating here and I am already looking forward to going back. I liked the menu selections - there was something for everyone, including my picky kids, my dieting friend, and two solid men. Everything was very flavorful, including my southwestern salad.
The service was terrible. I can understand service being slow, but not being ignored. The final issue was the waitress not being honest about the delay and menu. Carlos you need to review your staff.
We keep going here because the the kitchen is open later that most restaurants on the North Shore. The service is really outstanding. Everyone is so friendly. We LOVE the gazpacho. Last night we had the fried chicken (large serving) and the whitefish - delicious! Great pour from the bar! They have great spaces for large parties here, and a vibrant bar scene 👍
Had a great lunch on a Wednesday afternoon in one of the back rooms. The noise level was low as we were there later in the day. No rush on us, as we sat and talked for 2 hours, which was appreciated.
We have been eating here a lot lately. The service is exceptional. Everyone on the staff is very nice! We love having the gazpacho! Portions are great for the money. Nice pour from the bar. The banana cream pie is excellent!
My wife and I have been coming to the Happ Inn for many years. Usually, we find the food quite good. Obviously, there have been changes in the menu, which is not unusual for restaurants. However, we found a definite drop off in the quality of the food. My wife's roasted chicken was, at best, average. The seasoning was nothing special or memorable. I had salmon which was supposed to be served with corn and pablano salsa. I did not see any salsa on my dish and asked the waitress. I was told that the creamy liquid on the plate was the salsa. I checked - "salsa" is defined in terms of "chopped" ingredients, not pureed. When I expressed my surprise that the salsa was a liquid, the waitress offered to bring me a different salsa which would have been OK. However, what she brought me was a container of a different liquified salsa. So, the salmon was just OK. Overall, the dinner was quite disappointing. My wife and I agreed that we probably will not return unless and until we hear things have changed.
We always enjoy dining at The Happ Inn. The service and food are very good (the tuna burger is excellent!).
Food quality at this restaurant has declined dramatically given my last two experiences. Taking food items off a receipt, unfortunately, doesn't make the visit a better one, while a bit less unhappy.
We love this restaurant. The service is cheerful and attentive. The food is very good. We especially like the gazpacho! Great for get togethers with friends and family.
Always an excellent meal. Our waitress was attentive without being annoying.
Overall it was good. Would come back. It was crowded on a Friday nite around 8.
We've been here many times, and we'll be back again, but on this visit things just weren't up to standard. We were tucked into a corner of the porch next to a LARGE party where there normally isn't a table. We were blocking an exit door and behind the bus station where dirty dishes were being dropped off constantly. It was loud, uncomfortable, and not an enjoyable dining experience. I would be happy to have a cocktail in the bar and wait a few minutes for a table, despite having a reservation, than be sat in such a location. Our waiter was nice, but we were never told the specials, which we overheard being told to another table. Then, because he was taking the dessert order for the very large party, we waited a lengthy time to have our bill charged to our card. Happ Inn, you've been around long enough not to be making these kinds of mishaps.
Always Always Always great
Happ Inn is on our regular list for eating out. I particularly like that I can make a reservation.
Our service this time was outstanding. Zach was knowledgeable and very attentive. We had a slight issue with French fries being cold and he brought new ones out with little down time.
With the exception of the first round if fries, everyone absolutely loved their food. And I must add, the Pear Martini is the best ever
We had a reservation for a 6,00 dinner. The front dest was friendly and welcoming, they honored our request for a booth....greatly appreciated. We all felt that the waiter was pushing the alcohol, not really appreciated..... also the waiter could not wait to clear the table and bring the boxes for doggie bags while I was STILL eating. Felt so rushed and uncomfortable, like we were eating in a fast food restaurant.
I am a resident of Northfield, eat at Happ Inn all the time also do carry out, just want you to know, I love the restaurant and the fact that you are in my neighborhood, and I really hate to complain, but this was ridiculous. This was not the first time for this particular server..
Great! Love the Happ Inn!
I had never been here before. Enjoyed it would come back. Food and service was very good.
3 meals were fine. The fourth was fair.
The ahi tuna salad was not rare or fresh. It was not prepared at the time I ordered but something that was made previously.
The chai pudding dessert was supposed to have pudding in it but I could not find a teaspoonful.
We’ve been to the Happ Inn many times & it never disappoints! Food & service always very good. Good place for the whole family.
We especially were impressed with your deserts. Your baker is outstanding.
Arrived 10 minutes early for a Tuesday 12:30 pm reservation. Drove around the parking lot for 20 minutes but no parking was available other than one hour limited spots. There were at least a dozen of these short term spots nearby, but who wants to take a chance when the police station is close at hand! Glad the Happ Inn is doing well but wish they'd provide sufficient parking. Won't be returning here any time soon....
Will be back soon!!
Another great visit to The Happ Inn.... The food was delicious, generous portions and the service was fantastic. The staff is friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. We will be back again!
Always good food with excellent menu choices and prices are fair.
