   Love the Trio. Just the right variety and portion sizes. Nice to have a “side” salad that is from the regular salad menu.

   I was a little disappointed. We had a party of six and two of us ordered the French Dip which was suppose to be a thinly sliced prime rib sandwich. The sandwich was a roast beef sandwich at best and definitely was not made the same day we dined. It was very dry and had the flavor of leftovers, for $19.95 we expected better. The staff was very nice and the service was great but I can't see my self dining here again.

   Service was poor. Delivery of food was sporadic. All items ordered were not delivered at the same time if at all or as ordered and delivered to the wrong table.

    Good crowd for a Monday. Food, as always, was delicious, complimented by a nice bottle of Chardonnay, but the company was by far the best part of the evening! See ya again soon.

    The most outstanding part of our dinner at Happ Inn was the tireless efforts of our server, Miguel, who seemed to covering the whole room. Otherwise? Everything else was good, the highlights being shrimp bisque and my wife’s steak tacos. My Cobb Salad was good but devoid of chicken. It’s a good place as a go-to, and I’m sure we will return, but nothing special.

    We hadn't been to The Happ Inn in many years; frankly, we hadn't found it to be that good. Well, we changed our minds a few weeks ago when we went with friends who thought it was a good eatery. We really enjoyed it. The food and service were very good. It is a casual restaurant, to be sure, but it was very enjoyable. So enjoyable that we returned two weeks later with other friends, who also like it there. Between our two visits we enjoyed chunky housemade guacamole and corn chips, fried chicken, skirt steak, Caesar salad with salmon, pulled pork, fish and chips, soup and quesadillas...a pretty good overview of the menu. Food came hot, from pleasant and professional servers. The only (strangely) bump in the road was that the corn bread starter that we ordered both times came cold. Can't figure that one out for the life of me. Oh well. Under the supervision of Debbie and Carlos Nieto, The Happ Inn is running smoothly. BTW, we and everyone we saw, were seated within 10 minutes of their reservations...nice.

    Been here many times. Food is always good. I don’t usually complain but there was very little concern by the hostess that my two 83 year old companions would not do well at a high top. I know she could have tried harder to accommodate us. Disappointing experience.

    Perfect spot for lunch. Loud enough that you don’t hear everyone else’s conversations but quiet enough to hear your own. And the food is delicious. We had the tuna tartare, bison burger and pulled pork sandwich. Love the option for Serrano peppers on the side with the burger. And the coleslaw on the pulled pork was crispy enough but also moist. Will definitely be back soon.

    pullled pork entree was burnt and carmelized, fish & chips not as flavorful as it used to be though chips were perfect and piping hot, hamburger seemed to be OK. We lost our waitress somewhere along the way, not attentive about asking for drink refills or if we needed anything else.

    The food was very good, but the service was so-so. I understand the tough help situation these days, but our waitress stood chatting at a booth for quite a long time. It definitely looked like she was socializing. The coffee she served me was cold and it took a long rime for her to replace it.

    Our food was good, as usual. However, the service was not. We had a 5 PM reservation and there were only a few tables taken. Our server came to the table fairly quickly and we ordered drinks. She disappeared for quite a while. When she finally did arrive with our drinks, she gave my wife hot water and said to let the tea brew for a bit. That would be fine but we soon realized that the waitress forgot to put a tea bag in the hot water. We finally flagged her down and she got the tea bag. We ordered and it took quite a while for our dinner to arrive. Our waitress never came back to see how the food was, if I needed more iced tea, if my wife needed more hot water, etc. Again, we flagged her down to get refills. This is a decent place with average food - but it needs to up its game a bit.

    Our service was excellent and everyone loved the appetizers and their meals. Are server was excellent. I had not eaten there in over a year but this restaurant does not miss a beat. It stands the test of time with quality and service.

    We hadn’t been to The Happ Inn in many years and remember it being quite good. We had a reservation and was seated promptly. It was full and very loud. We had to yell to hear people at our table and to talk to our waiter. Within 1 minute of sitting down our waiter asks us what we want to drink. We hadn’t had a chance to pull in our chairs let alone look at the menu. 2 minutes later he bruskly takes our drink order and wants to take our food order. We ask him to give us a couple more minutes. We order and our food comes out in a reasonable amount of time. The frites were stale and cold. We sent those back. The skirt steak was dry and flavorless. It had no seasoning. The shrimp was cooked fine, but also had no seasoning. The vegetables that were supposed to be roasted were barely done. The cauliflower rice seemed to be homemade and actually had good texture. It too was cool and unseasoned. 2 of the other diners with us enjoyed their whitefish which looked to be cooked well. Plates were removed promptly. It did seem like the waiter was in a big rush to turn our table over the whole time. Another note, ever time the busboy came by I got a huge whiff of weed. I’m super disappointed. I was looking forward to a nice meal and this place was pretty awful.

    Enjoyed immensely with a friend for dinner, Willow Road salad with salmon the best, a new wine, Atom I enjoyed and hummus to start. Saw neighborhood friends too. Never disappoints.

    They clearly were expecting us because of our reservation. Met our request as they always do. Owner/manager stopped by our table to make sure we had everything we needed. The Happ Inn is our go to place.

    This was a great location to meet family who live outside Chicago. Easy on/off to freeway. Charming and family-friendly Bar & Grill. Variety of items on menu and good choices for children. Great service and good food.
