Great local find - can't wait to try out the garden. Very good food although a little pricey for Hammersmith borders but worth it for the space, ambiance and service. Will make it a regular haunt.
Cosy place, it has outdoor seating area as well. Personally I think it is a little overpriced and selection of dishes is not great. The member of staff ware very helpful and nice when I didn't liked the taste of one dish - they quickly replaced it with another one free of charge.
Fantastic food, relaxed atmosphere, well-maintained ambient, friendly staffs, all perfect...! Did they change the chef recently? Or their chef was improved and improved? The food is obviously improved and fantastic. My spaghetti of courget and vegetable, my friend's hamburger, salad, burrata, any plate was really at the most esquisite level. We will definately go back.
Hampshire Hog seems to have dropped it's food quality standards or at least the burgers werent very good and the avocado and pea on toast was a bit average. We came back after a couple of years' absence as we were out of the country and what was originally a bright spot in the area seems to have dimmed a bit. The price point was a bit lower than what I remember and I wonder if it's not because of that....it's a difficult neighbourhood to serve I would imagine. Friendly and attentive service though. I guess it's possible that we came on an off night (New Year's Eve)
Really disappointing. Very over priced for food that we got. Boys ordered crumble for pudding and it was literally 2cm deep in a ramekin with half a spoon of ice cream. Was hoping this would match our expectations and it really didn't.
Very friendly service. The food is excellent, refined but not in any way too elaborate or pretentious. Full of flavour. The prices are very reasonable. Excellent atmosphere, light and airy, bustling with life but not noisy. Altogether a very good experience.
Really attractive room, but as pub called the Hampshire Hog ordered pork belly, which was a smallish slab of OK pork, but with no crispy top, which is the whole point of this very cheap cut - soft fatty meat topped by crunchy crackling, instead of which there was just a miserable square of inedible brown slimy skin on top. Dessert was horrible. Blistering (just microwaved at a guess) tiny blob of indistinguishable fruit, meant to be quince , in tiny ramekin, topped with cold dry uncooked "crumble" - any home cook could do better. We sent it back.
Service too pushy - kept pushing more drinks on us and brought me a second drink I had not asked for. When we left, the waiter said :goodbye darling! There's friendly, and there is over familiar.
Limited menu, terrible service. After the waiter took our drinks order from the table we had to order everything else from the bar. No waiting staff around
Lovely relaxed cosy atmosphere, great shabby chic decor, good cocktails and tasty food. A good find in Hammersmith!
Nice low key venue for a relaxing evening out. Friendly staff and good food.
Pre theatre meal. Waiter was brilliant at ensuring a prompt service so that we would get to show on time. Nice atmosphere, tasty food.
Lovely dinner, thank you 😀
Great food, ambiance, lovely meet up place. Staff nice, cocktail hour great, drinks tasty.
Excellent food, small mix- up with the order, which was quickly resolved.
Cozy and relaxed ambience over good food. Highly recommended for a girls gathering, family gathering, friends gathering, etc.
We really enjoyed an excellent Brunch at The Hampshire Hog, which catered for Gluten Free diets really well, there is a light and bright atmosphere here and the service was warm and friendly. It is a bit top heavy on prices. And I found the menu pretty dull and not good for Gluten Free supper choices but sitting outside in the garden was delightful.
I love the Hampshire Hog! Staff is lovely but a bit slow and inattentive. But beautiful restaurant and garden
This is a warm and lively pub with lots of people from the surrounding areas having meals or drinks. It's a great place for large groups and has a beautiful garden. The menu is quite diverse with loads of veggie options. The food was a bit mixed. Some dishes were superb and others disappointing. We've been here a few times now and generally find it to be the same. Lovely ambience and feeling about the place and very warm and friendly staff. Thanks for a great evening.
The restaurant is lovely. The staff are helpful, unfortunately they got two thirds of our order wrong. There was no problem with them replacing the main course that served in error.
The main course that my husband had was extremely over-priced and he left the restaurant feeling underfed.
We won't be back.
It is always disappointing that the food does not match the loveliness of the venue.
We arrived at 2pm and could not even work out who worked there. Eventually we we're sat and then left for about ten minutes before we could order a drink. The drinks took a further ten minutes to arrive and were then spilt over my friend on arrival. We ordered our food which took over an hour to arrive and we were very disappointed. The 'side of vegetables' was a ramekin of dried, burnt and cold cauliflower and the fish cake was overcooked and dry. Eggs florentine were cold and the burger was completely raw in the middle. When we complained, in the nicest possible manner considering that we had been there for two hours and missed the movie we were going to watch, the waiter looked very confused as to why we might be less than satisfied. Such a shame considering the venue is gorgeous but the food and service is shambolic.
We came here about 6 months ago and shared the most beautiful steak, big enough to feed 2-3 people, with pardon peppers, lovely chips and aioli. went here valentines day and the place was a shambles, lack of interest from staff who didn't understand English, not very polite and generally disinterested. Food was average at best but poor value for money.
This venue has been on my radar for literally years and earlier in the week I finally got a chance to make it here!
It's a gastropub with a lovely drinking area at the front. An ok looking dining room, as the front is better than the restaurant's mid-section. A supa cute outdoor back area illuminated wth fairy lights galore and uplights strategically positioned.
If you're here for early evening drinks check out their special offers with 2 for 1 cocktails at 10GBP, House wines by the bottle 20 GBP
Vegetarian options are plentiful, pleasing and wholesome: really surprising!
Odours - 2 points:
(I) I wouldn't sit near the patio windows if you dislike cigarette smoke as it did bleed through somehow. Wasn't an issue for me but could be for others.....
(II)Someone needs to wash his armpits & or clothes - sorry but has to be said.
OH & a great selection of veggie options and the Onglet steak scrumptious.
We ate here on Christmas Eve and the food was good, the service very good but unfortunately we were the only people there! Maybe they shouldn't open on Christmas Eve again as being the only diners feels very odd!!
First ever white coloured pub that's nice and music played is jazz .. But really expensive compared to it's location.. Fulham Road prices..
Amazing place, familial and very valuable foods and menu! I am in love of this place, the tea is smashing!
More sauce on Bloody Mary mussels, it was hard to tell the flavour as it was quite sparse on my mussels.
Only 1 cheek served on the pork 'Cheeks' dish, item description was misleading.
Minimal toast offered with a large helping of the Rabbit terrine, ratio was very off on this dish.
Wine was delicious and good value for money
Loved the food and service was good but packed on a Tuesday night so very loud with so many people talking and difficult to have a conversation between the 4 in my party.
We booked for a late (4pm) Sunday lunch. We were happy to drive 20/25 minutes to get a yummy roast as we had been fans of the Engineer which these people previously owned.
However after we had received drinks and tried to order food we were told there were no roasts left. The only meat left on the menu were lamb cutlets. No roast potatoes or Yorkshires.
Given the hours on a Sunday are from 10am - 10 pm you would think they would have enough food to cater for what most people want on a Sunday i.e. a roast.
We ordered the lamb which was very nice. However as we left the party on the next table were served chicken with Yorkshire puddings. How was that?
The place was very pretty specially the outdoor setting. Food was good and staff was really nice. It was a bit of a walk from the station but worth it when we got there.
Big group of us and they took really good care of us :)
had to wait 45mins -55mins for our food to arrive which is the longest i ve ever had to wait - apart from slow service venuw is nice in summer - spacious. they had the nerve to charge us service despite our wait but they waived it and offered discount which was a nice gesture.
When we arrived at the Hampshire Hog, we were pleasantly surprised by the ambience, particularly the garden outside - the atmosphere was relaxed, the staff were friendly and helpful and the beer was great. Unfortunately our dining experience did not match; much of what we wanted was unavailable - including Cabernet Sauvignon - starters were bland... The lamb main was still bleating on arrival... The same piece of lamb was then re-served 10 minutes later, but was fairly insubstantial. Desserts were bordering on insanity - the expected rich and fluffy chocolate mousse tart was like a giant dense slab of butter that may once have been briefly introduced to chocolate... Mine was also unpleasantly green around the edges, suggesting it may have been a little older than one would hope!!! To be fair the tart was taken away and subtracted from our bill - but we left feeling unsatisfied with our un-chocolatey ending and considerably poorer as a result!!!
The food was good but the portions very small. The service very slow. We specifically asked how long the desserts were going to take to arrive. It was supposed to be prompt. They arrived as we were leaving. Not a good experience. We booked for 6pm. Waited 35min for our mains and the desserts never arrived.
Great atmosphere, tastefully decorated, great food. We went there for a meal before an event at the Hammersmith Apollo and it was perfect for that. They should look to market that opportunity as we were the only ones in the dining area at that early evening timeslot at first and only 2 other tables came before we left. Given that, they could have offered us a better table, instead we were shown to a small table for two whilst a load of better ones stayed empty for the entire time we were there. Prices reasonable given we only eat a main each and shared a starter, although if we'd have had three courses each it would have looked a little expensive for a relaxed pub meal. They should consider 2 or 3 course deals. Service from the waitress was good although from the staff generally a little inattentive at times and no-one made the effort to thank us on the way out, which I always want to see from any restaurant. We had to catch the eye of someone and thank them first, otherwise we would have left without any contact.
A group of 7 of us really enjoyed our Sunday lunch at the Hampshire Hog. Only downside was how long we had to wait (even though they were quite busy). It was an hour after ordering before we received our starters.
Lovely venue for a Friday night dinner with the girls
We were happily surprised to find this restaurant, unlike a lot of gastropubs, serves an interesting menu over and above the standard Sunday roast. Although the roast was amazing!
Highly recommended for outdoor space and food!
We went to the Hampshire Hog on Saturday, overall the menu is really varied and the food was very tasty, cocktails were also very nice....staff overall were very nice and professional, only little niggle was that our full order wasn't put though to the kitchen, but quickly rectified.
Would go back again, there was lots of dishes on the menu I still want to try!
I must start by saying that I am Italian and therefore very sensitive to the food quality.
For me, was the first time at Hampshire Hog but I've to say if this restaurant was in Italy, I'd put it among my favorite restaurants.
Everything was good: ambience, friendly service, food, price.
Surely, I'll come back very soon.
