Amazing food and people
Great time all around. Admittedly, we were those last guests with a 10:30pm reservation; but manager Evan and bartender Robert were super hospitable and took care of us. Sushi was great!! First time back for late night sushi happy hour since before the pandemic and we’ll definitely be back again.
Our server was amazing! Very attentive and helpful. Our food was not good at all...Very bland. I had the pasta bolognese, and requested to have it subbed for the salmon dish. The pasta was very bland without much flavor. The salmon dish was rather small.
My boyfriend ordered shrimp and grits and his portion was small, and very bland as well.
Food was great! Service, Chris, was awesome! Very attentive.
Noise level was loud! There was an engagement party 2 tables from us and they were very loud. Overall a great place to eat. Banana French Toast... YUMM!

I’ve been coming to the Hamilton for years and after moving to NY, I missed the whole experience. Recently traveled back to DC with my girlfriend for a weekend trip and knew I had to take her here. The Hamilton is by far one of my favorite restaurants in DC, it’s massive which allows for multiple different reason to visit. From grabbing a beer with coworkers after work in the front bar, bringing clients for a business lunch in the private booths or just grabbing dinner with friends and family in the large dinning room, you’ll never be disappointed. Food is outstanding and the variation is great, there is always something for everyone. Drinks are also very good, was original skeptical of the espresso martini but glad we ordered them. Will always come back here.
Service and ambiance were excellent. Food and drinks were very tasty overall. But the pasta dishes were super-salty and the fluke was pretty bland. Burger, bento box, crab soup and sushi were excellent.

The Hamilton was a convenient meeting place. The drink menu and food were good. The bread pudding was exceptional. Service was just ok. I'd go back if I was in the area but it wouldn't be a destination for me.
There was a bug in my food and the staff didn't even acknowledge that anything was wrong, they just took the plate away and didn't offer anything. It was all very nonchalant and I that it was strange. I'm not normally one to complain, but a bug in my food is not okay. Clearly the kitchen is dirty.
Seemed short staffed. Took a while to get table cleared and seated despite having reservation. Waiter was great but appeared to have too many tables assigned. He was courteous and great, though the timeliness of the food was not great. Only negative on food quality was dessert - ordered the confetti cake option. It was quite stale as if the cake had been sitting for a few days.
While in DC for a day before heading to NYC, we stumbled upon The Hamilton and decided to give it a try. We were NOT disappointed. The service was amazing, the food delicious, and the atmosphere relaxing. It’s a MUST when in the area.
This was my first dining experience at the Hamilton. Met with a couple of colleagues for a business meal and planning session. The wait staff (Troy) was impeccable, very personable, and timely with all orders coming from our table. I will definitely be eating there again soon.

I was a little hesitant about booking this restaurant as the menu has a lot going on. Sometimes it’s hard for restaurants to give their 100% when there’s so many different options on the menu... but i’m SO glad I gave this place a chance. It definitely didn’t disappoint. We went for Easter brunch and it was lovely weather, we got to sit outside and enjoy some sunshine with delicious food. Our waitress was amazing and took care of us without asking how we were doing every two seconds. A little on the pricey side so I personally would go for more special occasions instead of just casual dining. Bathrooms were nice and clean as well, always a plus!

Food was good. Our server was helpful by providing information on the different food and drinks. I appreciate how the restaurant practiced CoVid health/safety guidelines: took our temperatures, wearing masks, physically distanced from other groups dining inside.
Rooms are vaulted and wooden, with booths or tables well spaced. We got a booth. Food was quite good but not great. We had burgers and a crab cake sandwich. All the meats were good and buns very fresh. However, the service was slow, indifferent and sloppy: spilt water on our plates (and did nothing) and, horror of horrors, poured a beer from an upside down can into a glass = 1/4 beer 3/4 froth. Not a standard you would expect at this price point.

I live in the area and have been going to the Hamilton regularly for a few years now. The Hamilton routinely delivers incredible food (including their bomb sushi!), excellent service, and a classy ambiance with their traditional old DC style. I recommend Hamilton to all my friends, they have something for every palette!
