Thanks for putting our table with another table of the same group. Perfect. Service and food great. Very accommodating with our order.
The Hamilton was a fantastic place for a nice dinner with friends close to the White House and the National Mall. Service was prompt, and food prices well below what I would expect to pay at a restaurant like this.
Wonderful food in a great location. Wait staff were attentive without being intrusive.
The restaurant was very crowded, so the service, while a little slow, was good. The food was excellent. We shared the District wings with Mumbo sauce-- these were very good. The roast chicken was fantastic and a favorite from the same experience at Clydes, so very consistent, excellet meal. We also had the vegan roasted cauliflower entree and it was super tasty too. Drinks were very good and was tempted to have some sushi during the happy hour but will definitely be back to try that!
The manager and staff were very attentive. We got a free dessert because the sushi took a long time to arrive to our table. It was a great experience overall.
The atmosphere is lovely and our waitress was fantastic. Service was amazing.
Fantastic service...our server, Olivia, treated my 9 year old daughter like royalty on our special mommy- daughter day. Pumpkin bread is heavenly as are the milkshakes. Chesapeake Benedict is AMAZING. All around great experience!
Service was good and food was excellent!
Would have enjoyed a holiday centerpiece on the table and some Christmas music. Decor is in need of a little refreshing.
My new fave!
Great service and value in the heart of DC.
Guillermo (sp?) was masterful running the bar.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit at the Hamilton. Two of my guests said the Fried chicken sandwich and the Salmon salad were the best they’ve ever had. Mike provided outstanding service and helped us start our White House Tree lighting experience with great joy!
The overall restaurant/bar looked nice, though the ambience is better suited for an after work/large group gathering rather than a couple's dinner out.
We had very slow service - we were seated timely, but long wait to order, get the check etc. The table next to us had the same issue and was repeatable in search of our waitress.
The water was room temperature and tasted of stale flavored seltzer water.
For the appetizer I ordered the calamari, my wife ordered a salad. Someone (not our waitress) had delivered the wrong salad and immediately left. We waited over five minutes to flag down our waitress and send it back and then had to wait another 10 minutes to get the right salad. Once it arrived the new salad was great and so was the calamari.
For entrées, I had the crispy chicken which again was very good. My wife ordered the crab cake. While it was very good, it seemed very overpriced for its size. One small crab cake for $27 would have better fit expectations as a $17 appetizer.
The validated parking for $10 worked out well and is a nice perk.
Seated in the bar section. Way to noisy to carry on a conversation. The service was very slow snd inattentive. Perhaps the waitress was too busy. This was second time there several years apart. I would not be eager to return.
Birthday Dinner - very accommodating
I've been to the Hamilton several times and its pretty enjoyable. Unfortunately this time was just okay. It took a while for our waiter to come to the table and take our orders after ordering drinks. It was a busy night, but I've had better service.
First visit to The Hamilton and it was wonderful. Great sushi and all around meal. Ryan was our server and he was very knowledgeable and attentive. Great atmosphere, will return on our next visit to D.C.
It was my wife’s birthday celebration. All requests met, all expectations met, this-is a great place each and every visit
We are positive evangelists for The Hamilton.
Our server was great in explaining the menu and offering suggestions which turned out great. I got the sea scallops entree and nearly licked the bowl, it was delicious! We were there for sushi happy hour and had the Rainbow and the Fire Cracker, both delicious!!
I had great sushi’s with my husband and my friend. I ordered an apple pie and my friend an other desserts. While my actual server was busy an other server came to gave us the desserts. The server made a mistake and served me a pumpkin pie which I refused and walked away and I was sitting with no desserts for a while until my formal server did everything to make it happen fast. I had my apple tart and I wasn’t charge for it. The end of the story is I shouldn’t experience bad attitude from a server if something goes wrong. Obviously it was really ending my good time with my friend and my husband at the restaurant with a bad brand experience which is unfortunate. It wasn’t busy on Sunday ! So disappointing!
The Linguine Pescatore and"Cajun" bread pudding were fantastic. Definitely in the top 5 of my shellfish pastas. Our server was also an excellent and very knowledgeable about wines.
Food is always good - but make sure you give yourself plenty of time for dinner. This is the second time we have dined here before a 7:30 showtime - reservation was for 5:15 and still had to skip dessert to make it on time.
Nicely prepared and presented dishes with delicious sauces. We had scallops, meatloaf and short ribs.
Food was excellent, but service was very bad at first. It took forever to get service, and we even had to ask another waiter to get us things for our table because our server never came around or helped us. Service seemed to get better later on in the meal though.
Food and service was good. They took good care of food allergies. They should use only pure 100% Virgin Olive oil for all their cooking. They use a blend for most. Some rooms are very noisy. When requesting a quiet table, they put us right next to the service area which is by its nature noisy with clanging dishes and chatter by servers.
It was a great venue to celebrate my mom's birthday. The customer service was outstanding!
Food is actually very disappointing, the menu is good.
Do not order a Bloody Mary.
The crab bisque soup as the only thing we had.
Service is just a mess, it’s too big, they can’t do a good job with such a big space.
Not a happy camper at lunch today.
A solid go-to options for groups with different preferences - lots of options! Service was really great and the aesthetic is very nice.
Went to Hamilton pretty often when I was a news reporter based in DC. Thought it would be a great to come back and take my sister for Thanksgiving dinner there. We arrived earlier than our reservation and asked the host to put us on the waitlist for the next available table (we were willing to wait since the host said it would be about 25-30 minutes). Instead she actually just made us wait for our usual reservation without telling us. I saw tons of empty tables on my way to the bathroom. We were waiting for over an hour and the host kept saying 15 minutes, just 15 minutes... and kept seating people who did not have reservations (they sat next to us at the bar and chatted with us, which is how we knew). Food, however, was good. We had a lovely server and bartender which made up for our initial experience.
Was with family at the Hamilton for Thanksgiving. Overall an excellent meal and place to eat, but a very high noise level, even inside a closed booth.
Honestly one of the best Thanksgiving dinners we’ve ever eaten!
Excellent menu, even for Thanksgiving Day. Our server was great. My husband's burger came out wrong. It was a plain hamburger, not bacon cheeseburger with egg that he ordered. They brought out the missing bacon, cheese and egg and removed the burger from the bill. Mistakes happen, but they handled it very well and above our expectations. We will be back to try more on a day that offers the full menu. Also, the cocktails we had were amazing!
Thank you Jacob for taking good care of us. We had a wonderful evening on Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving at the Hamilton was the nicest Thanksgiving I ever had. There were six of us and we were given a private room. It was like being at home without any of the hassle . The food and drink excellent. The servers couldn’t have been more attentive. A perfect experience
The food here was actually pretty good. The service, on the other hand, was abysmal. The waiter rarely came to the table, we had to wait a n extended time for drinks, food, and the bill. It seems the wait staff is over extended. Overall, while the food was good, the service basically ruined the experience.
Excellent food and knowledgable server!
Overall this was an excellent dining experience. The noise level was slightly loud since we were in the larger dining area. The food was all delicious. The crab deviled eggs are highly recommended. Our server Gloria was very helpful and cheery and added that extra touch to make the evening special.
My friends and I have a wonderful time here. The server was patient as we caught up with extended conversations before ordering. The food was delicious and reasonably price. I looked forward to returning on my next trip back to DC.
We loved our visit! Server was very engaging and knowledgeable.
