The Gun Barrel Steak & Game House
Enjoy town's largest selection of high end beef & game all slow cooked over an open mesquite wood grill. Plus chicken, fish, pork and more, served in a rustic lodge atmosphere.
Very delicious meals! Great customer service & very friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We came for a friend's birthday party. It was a fun experience. The ambience is very "Wyoming". We had a great time. I would have given the restaurant ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, except I was disappointed in the lack of vegetables on the menu. Side dishes are basically limited to potatoes.
Malvin was awesome!!!
Food was great. Server forgot to refill one of our person's drinks, and didn't seem very personable. She wasn't rude by any means but she was vaguely cordial. I'd eat there again.
The service was great, and the food was even better!
We had a girls trip to Jackson Hole and were told by numerous people to go to gun and barrel and it did not disappoint! Everything was fresh and delicious. The wait staff was awesome and I would definitely go back!
Special menu item was tough and not edible. Waiter comped and replaced with another item. No hassle.
Excellent service, great food, great menu, friendly staff
Only wish there were more options for kids —pasta and dessert missing
My husband really liked his ribs but there was only one vegetarian option so I ended up eating a side salad and a baked potato.
This was a last minute decision and we are so glad that we decided to eat at Gun Barrel! Buffalo ribs were outstanding - enough for the 2 of us to share. Service was great - fast & friendly. Easy online reservation, table ready upon our arrival, seamless meal. Thanks!
I asked for a medium well steak and got a rare bloody steak. The waiter was sweet and took it back, but it was already burned on the outside. He took it back 2 more times and by the 3rd time it was medium well instead but black and burned on the inside. I wish I had asked for the manger and asked for another steak. We won’t be back. The steak seemed to be a good cut of meat but burned. My husband wasn’t thrilled with his food either. They don’t describe the food enough and they won’t substitute things. Beware!
Recommended to us by The Lodge at Jackson. Ordered a filet mignon for myself and a ribeye for my husband. Mine was overcooked and dry, I ordered medium, and my husband’s was well done and he swears it was a New York not a ribeye. Ordered cheesecake for dessert and it was dry and old. Overall, poor quality for the price.
We had a wonderful experience at The Gun Barrel. The Elk Chop was amazing and the sides were delicious. Drinks were very good and we loved the rifle drink stirs. Very nice ambiance and when we come back to Jackson rest assured we will be returning!
Great food!
Great atmosphere!
Friendly and helpful staff!
Great drinks great game plate great service
Great meal and great service. Very unique Wyoming experience
Amazing Buffalo Prime Rib and Elk Chops !!!
We made two reservations for this restaurant because everyone who talked about it said it was the best place to eat in Jackson. We found the service to downright rude at times. The appetizers and desserts were prepared ahead of time and not made to order. The entrees reminded us of a Ponderosa. The wild game trio was ok. The venison sausage wasn’t very good and we each had one bite of it. The bison and elk were the best out of the three, but not as good as we’d had at other restaurants in the area. Needless to say we cancelled our second reservation and when we return to Jackson we will not return to The Gun Barrel Steak & Game House. We were both very disappointed in our meals.
Showed up 5 minutes early for our 8pm reservation. Party of 3 was not seated until 8:20. Put us in a rush because we were meeting another couple in an hour. Hostess staff were not that impressed. Ordered main food, ate quickly and got out as soon as possible. My husband's elk chop was very good and cooked per his request. My son's filet was overcooked to well done but he said the charring on outside was good. My tenderloin medallions were fine. Reminded me of sausage patties but I just wanted a little meat so the portion was perfect. The baked potatoes were not 100% cooked soft. Mine still had al dente center. Waiter was very busy but very nice.
Everything was perfect. The food, the wait staff the atmosphere. Amazing
Great place to go for dinner. Steak was a bit over cooked but the meal overall was fantastic!!
We had a fantastic dinner. We are here on our Honeymoon 24 years ago and loved being able to share it with our daughter tonight.
We had to wait a long time to get our check and box for our food. We would have ordered dessert but our waiter took too long and we wanted to see the New Years Eve fireworks
I had the rib eye. I ordered it medium rare. When it came out it was cooked with no pink. I decided to send it back and when the second one came it was still overcooked but I decided to keep it to make my party not have to wait for me. It was tuff and my teeth still hurt from it.
Fantastic place to eat
Buffalo ribs and bison ravioli are top shelf.
Great place!
Sons Birthday
The tenderloin steak had no flavor and had sinew through the meat. This should not occur for a steak of this price.
Our first visit to Jackson Hole and Gun Barrel was amazing!!!
A must see if in Jackson. The staff is great and ambiance is so "jackson". Good food and great vibe!
The service was excellent! Great atmosphere and the food was even better.
First time visiting Jackson Hole and I will definitely recommend to friends. When we visit again, this will be one of our first stops. Delicious Elk Lollipops. Our waiter was very attentive and had a great sense of humor. The Apple Pie was delicious!
The cost for the food is too high for what you get. But given the location, I'm sure they can charge these prices. Two of the cocktails we had tasted the same, they were the Bulleit Proof and the Wyoming Manhattan. They tasted as if hard liquor was only poured into the glass with no additional flavoring. Cocktails are overpriced for those reasons. I did like the Teton Mule, though. Given how many bars & restaurants are in downtown Jackson, you'd think they'd up their game on their cocktails. Our server approached our table quite a bit, and we couldn't even finish a conversation with each other. We finally mentioned that we were not in a rush since we felt he wanted our table to come & go so he could serve other people to make more in tips. Even after mentioning that, he still came back not even 6 minutes later & asked if we were ready to order. We hadn't even taken 2 bites of our appetizer. At that point, I was ready to just eat my meal and go somewhere else to enjoy my evening & drinks. We spent 60% more ordering the same amount of food that we do at Roadhouse Brewery and Silver Dollar and their beer/cocktail selection is much more vast. So we won't be returning to this restaurant.

The in house menu is less complete than on line. I.e no edge salad, no au poivre sauce. The waiter and menu omitted to say that the excellent medallions came with blue cheese and Dijon sauce. Great if you like blue cheese. Otherwise, nice location in East Jackson and good steak.
It was a very cold evening and they placed us by the fireplace. Nice! Our waitress was great and food was over the top. Loved the decor. Would differently eat there again.
Great Buffalo Prime Rib and Apple pie!!
We enjoyed Christmas Eve dinner at the Gun Barrel. The elk and bison were fantastic!
A fun experience, great atmosphere and warm service. The food and drinks were ungenerous and mediocre to bad. Except for the elk chop which was superb.
