Our waiter from Romania was great. However, I had told the restaurant that this was an anniversary occasion. Unfortunately, the location my wife and I were given was next to a large table of 8 people and they were extremely loud the entirely evening. My wire ordered the Salmon dish which was very good. Unfortunately, I ordered the Elk Loin and had had Elk Loin several night before at the Whistling Grizzly a couple of nights before. There was no comparison between the two. Between the atmosphere and the quality of food, I would not recommend this restaurant to my friends. Instead, I would recommend the Whistling Grizzly and the White Buffalo as the best steak, fish and wild gam restaurants in Jackson, Wyoming.

The Gun Barrel is a staple in Jackson that should not be missed. The food was tasty and the ambiance is oh so Jackson Hole. Note that you should Book your reservation early !

The buffalo ravioli was just ok as it was a bit salty. The elk roast was excellent though was the caesar salad. Our server was a bit clueless in regards to some of our questions which was a bit curious.

I had a late lunch and was too full for dinner. My mother-in-law and I shared the foccia bread. It was delicious. We used the flavored oil and added salt and pepper. I got the french onion soup which was delicious. My mother-in-law ordered the prime rib bison. She was thrilled. I had the steakhouse burger which was excellent.

The service was very good. We had a 7:30 PM reservation, but needed to get on the road so I asked them to squeeze us in earlier, and they were able to get us in early. One of the people in our party got the wrong steak. The server promptly offered to swap it out for the correct one. It took a while for the new steak to come out, and came out rare when it was ordered medium, so had to send it back a second time. They did bring an extra baked potato, so the person could start eating while we were waiting. The server was excellent about trying to remedy the situation. Things happen, and what matters is how people handle it when things go wrong. I thought the server and manager did a good job of trying to make it right. My food was phenomenal, for the record :)

Our meals were delicious. My husband had te New York strip, and I had the Elk tenderloin. We had a great waiter, whose name I can’t remember. I just remember he said he’s from Romania. He was excellent. This is our first time in Jackson Hole. Our driver who picked us up from the airport to take us to our hotel recommended this place I would also recommend this restaurant.

Our ribeyes were a below average cut of meat and they had no flavor. We were excited to have a nice steak dinner after a day of hiking but we’re very disappointed. Our waiter was solid but there was no one bussing his tables so he was doing everything for 5+ tables. Also a manager never stopped by to see how everything was going. If they had, we would have told them everything typed here.

Celebrating 75th birthday and my tenderloin was a beautiful piece of meat but was charred on the outside by a cook who didn’t know how to prepare a medium rare steak. My wife’s halibut was so severely seared it was like encrusted in rubber. Her caprese salad had apparently been prepared earlier in the day and refrigerated until served as the tomatoes were tasteless and should not have been refrigerated. Meiomi pinot noir was reasonably priced and my wedge salad was good. Side order of mushrooms was not cooked as well as they should have been and they had to sub mashed potatoes for baked as they ran out. Overall over anticipated and under whelming experience.

The food was plentiful and very good. Thanks for NOT charging for plate sharing as two appetizers and one meal to share was perfect for two of us on top of a drink apiece. Still, dinner came to over $150 with tip which was quite high for only one meal.

We had a 9pm reservation, which wasn't the latest reservation available. However, we were made to feel rushed to leave as the staff was wanting to be done with the work day. Don't offer a 9pm reservation or 930 for that matter if you don't want to be there earning money. The restaurant was really cold so I left my table at 9:30 to go out to my car to get my coat. The doors locked behind me. My phone was sitting on the table so there was no way for me to get in. The hostess had left her station so even knocking on the door was not working. I had to wait several minutes for someone to walk out. Set the temperature to cater to your customers, not the employees. Yes, the kitchen is was and the employees are working, but they're not the ones who pay the bills. Put the customers first especially when you're charging a premium for your service. The food was decent but not nearly as good as in years past when I've dined at the Gun Barrel. You need to serve your food HOT not WARM.

We eat at the Gun Barrel every time we come to Jackson Hole. It never disappoints! Amazing food and very nice staff. Whenever we know someone who is going to Jackson Hole, we always tell them to stop and eat at the Gun Barrel Steak and Game House!

We have been coming to Jackson every other year since 1976, and The Gun Barrel is the ONLY place we have been to every single trip. Great job!! That having been said, please bring back Velvet Elk!! See you next time for sure!

We had Buffalo Prim Rib and Buffalo Tenderloin. Absolutely amazing. The Ranch dressing on my salad was wonderful. We also had crème brûlée and cheesecake for desert. This was the best meal I've ever had and we eat out a lot. Your Huckleberry lemonade was wonderful too. We will definitely come back the next trip. We are from Houston Texas. Love Loved it.
