The Guild House - Columbus
This was not our first time at the Guild House and it was just as good as previous visits. I ordered the Halibut and my wife ordered their house specialty chicken entree. We also ordered shrimp cevice' with paw-paw puree (which was amazing considering how hard it is o find paw-paws).
Also in addition to a great wine list, they have a couple of European aperitifs' that are nearly impossible to find on wine lists in Columbus, mostly due to a lack of familiarity I think. The service was excellent as always!
The experience here was absolutely worth every penny! From the atmosphere (fresh flowers at each table) to the perfectly executed dishes. We will deal be back to fine here!
We wanted to go somewhere special to celebrate my birthday and couldn’t have picked a better restaurant. The place is beautiful, the service was superb and the food not only was well presented but the best I have ever had. They even gave me a free dessert when they learned it was my birthday dinner . I wish that we lived closer to them and I would go back as often as I could.
Top notch place. Ambiance is fun, relaxed, but still somehow formal. Wonderful balance. Food is excellent.
We were disappointed with the slow service on a morning that did not seem that busy. Also the food was only so so. Not what you would expect from this restaurant
This was one of the best meals I've ever had. I had the duck special and it was exquisite.
It makes a statement about how valued we are when the valet parking is suddenly taken away... Been a regular visitor always knowing we could have the car valeted. Suddenly it seems a better offer was available so I had to dump my wife and son on the sidewalk and go off to find a parking spot. Message is clear
Ordered a 7-7 cocktail and received water & some cheap whiskey, Returned and requested 7-up and Segrams 7.
Sister ordered a Filet @ $40, it was tough as can be and couldn't chew, Returned for another, 2nd Filet was just as tough, RETURNED again and got sea bass which was the size of 50 cent piece. We were all done eating by then.
Called ahead about son's special occasion and asked for a dessert to be brought to our table with a candle. NOPE, waitress knew nothing about it! She checked with hostess and Yes, it was in the notes.
All around, our experience was the worst but the server was very apologetic and it was not her fault. Will NEVER go back there for the prices you pay for terrible drinks & food!!
Awesome service as always and great food and drinks !!
I really enjoyed it. Cool space. Great service. Creative, well prepared food.
What an outstanding experience when we arrived until we left. Dane, our host greeting us, made us feel like we he already knew us! After a great chat asking about my birthday, he seated us. Adam, our waiter, greeted us, brought us cocktails, and we told him we'd like to pace or dinner. He did exactly what we asked him to do. We ordered lobster toast..amazing and enjoyed our cocktails. H estopped by often to see if we were ready for dinner. We ordered the scallops and sea bass. Both we outstanding!
Since it was my birthday, I had a choice of any dessert. Due to being full, I chose one and asked for it to take home. My partner ordered a dessert, as well, to take home. Dane, our host, brought my dessert with a little candle in a take home box, and we had a private Happy Birthday song. However, he also knew my partner turned 65 in August upon chatting with us upon entering. He also brought him a complimentary dessert to take home as well. Now, that is customer service, and we were totally blown away!
All we can say is we will go back to The Guild House and we thank Dane and Adam for making my 59th birthday outstanding!!
This was a very nice place with great service. The food was unique in some respects, very tasty and done nicely., however it was somewhat over priced. You can get the same quality food with better portions at many other places nowadays. Our waitress was very cordial and quickly found out about the ingredients and allergy information we needed.
Always a reliable mainstay for a business client dinner. Valet parking makes things easy. A special of pork blade thinly-sliced with a sweet corn side was bright-tasting and unusual. Others had filet of beef and lamb burger, both of which were highly-rated by our guests.
There was no better place to celebrate our engagement and a 30 birthday dinner. They had great vegetarian options for us and the staff helped us picked the most delicious bottle of wine. Made for a fantastic evening by the restaurants fireplace. We felt very lucky and are extremely thankful.
It was a perfect anniversary dinner. Our table was by the fireplace, welcome on this cool rainy night. Our food was delicious , service impeccable. Will return here often.
First time at the Guild House but am very familiar with the quality of Cameron Mitchel restaurants. Came for a business lunch and it was a hit. The ambiance is very nice. The menu had many interesting dishes and included brunch items. The poached egg dish was phenomenal. Saw so man other items that I can't wait to return!
Nice place for brunch. Bring the family! The food is always great.
Great tasty food! Lamb chops appetizer and lobster toast were amazing! My husband got filet which was really good but a bit over cooked:( food took long time but was pretty good!
Great place, will definitely be going back
Grant Marsh, the GM, does a great job of running the house and has some outstanding servers working for him. We brought some friends in for their first time and they absolutely loved the place. You have to try the wagyu beef appetizer! It was a great night out!
Great service, was visited multiple times by waitress without needing to ask. Two different managers(roaming staff) asked how our meal was and complimented us. Very great staff, well dressed, and friendly.
Food was AMAZING. Presentation and plating was up to par with far more expensive restaurants. I got the special of the night which was Quail breast in a Duck confit wrapped in bacon, on roasted onions with a stone fruit sauce, and wow it was great. The Ahi Tuna, Wagyu beef, and Lamb sandwich were all amazing.
I've paid more for a lot less. For a semi-fine dining restaurant with easy access, i found the value was hard to beat. We got a bottle of Bergundy Chardonnay, an appetizer, and 3 entrees(one with a side). Would highly recommend and will be back for the next special occasion.
We needed a nice “girls night out”. It was great to have lots of small plate options and cocktails to start. We didn’t feel rushed, and had an awesome evening. Ryan was our server and he made our experience fun and provided wonderful recommendations. We can’t wait to come back for the next “girls night out”’
This was our first trip to this restaurant. We live In Metro Cleveland and were down to take my son out for his 21st birthday. Ryan our server was fantastic as was the whole experience. I tried all kinds of new things, including a desert that was pea based(not a huge pea fan). Ryan said it would be a game changer, it was and now I like peas a little more.
Food and service was really amazing, definitely worth going
Great service, exceptional unique creations, cute table setting.
We are from DC and are big foodies and are all for paying higher prices for delicious food. However this was higher prices for mediocre food. The cheese plate was marginal at best. And at that price we expected something equivalent to Osteria Morini in DC. The halibut was salty and tasteless, the sea bass had little to no flavor. Just blah. The waiter had too many tables. The servers brought us our food but we had to ask for a wait a full 5 minutes for utensils as ours were taken away when we finished our cheese plate. Cocktails were marginal. We traditionally enjoy the Cameron Mitchell restaurants and Hudson 29 the next night was as fabulous as always. Ironically when in line at Jeni’s ice cream we met a local couple who had the exact same opinions on the two restaurants.
A near perfect dining experience. We had to make last minutes changes to reservation and staff went the extra mile to accommodate. So gracious. Waitstaff equally awesome and food was creative and inspired. Can’t wait to return.
Although they apparently forgot to dress my side salad, the whole experience was fine. Our waiter was quietly efficient. He did not use the word "awesome" once, a rarity in today's wait staff's vocabulary. I do not need anyone joyfully agreeing with my selection of an entree. I always enjoy the food and ambience at the Guild. Exceptionally well run and very enjoyable.
Food was outstanding. Great presentation. We had the brussel sprouts appetizer, shared scallops and halibut which they split at no charge, and the carrot cake. We will definitely go back when we are in Columbus.
We had a party of six. Slow initial service to get drinks. Took 30 minutes to hear special. Though the restaurant was not crowded (late reservation) the attentiveness was off - rare for a Cameron Mitchell experience. One friend ordered Salmon, which first came well overcooked - the replacement was under-cooked - and still a full charge. Very disappointing. The rest of the meals were fine.
This was our second visit-both times we have had a table in the bar- which is both cozy and elegant. We like everything about the restaurant. Menu is well-chosen and interesting; nice wines by the glass; excellent service- staff attentive but not too much.
I was amazed at how well we were treated from the hostess to the bill. Our waiter, Josh Berry, was down to earth and very helpful. The food was amazing, especially the Chicken Roulade! I will be coming back quite a bit!
I took my wife here for here birthday and they greeted her with Happy Birthday! It was a nice touch and offered her desert on the house. The food was good but special was a bit pricey compared to the rest of the menu at $65 but the dish was good. If you are looking for a nice place to dine, I would recommend this restaurant!
We had a wonderful experience for dinner this past Tuesday, August 6, 2019. The food was delicious and incredibly creative, the ambiance fun, and the service outstanding. The menu is diverse enough so that meat lovers and non-meat lovers will easily find something that will satisfy your palate. I had the Vegetable Rotolo (loaded with flavor) and had a bite of my niece's Chicken Roulade (the most thoughtfully presented and tasteful chicken that I have ever had). Our server was on top of it throughout our entire stay-appetizers, entrees, and desserts and the manager (Grant) made sure that we were satisfied with every aspect of our visit. I have always been a huge fan of Cameron Mitchell restaurants because his restaurants go out of the way to make the customer feel special. Our visit was particularly important because we were entertaining a relative from the UK. She loved the entire evening. Thank you to the team at The Guild House for a most delightful night!
Joshua was amazing. Very astute and knowledgeable of the menu. Food was fantastic! The Salmon is the best Salmon in Columbus — by far!
Great place to eat at, especially if you're gluten free! Many options to choose from and the food is delicious, though pricey. One of our meals, the wagyu beef, ended up being too chewy for us (it was very rubbery) and they refunded us with no issue. Great service!
Excellent service, fantastic wine, phenomenal food. A great dining experience! Thank you!
Food was excellent as was service. I would dine at the Guild House again when in Columbus (I am from NYC).
The restaurant double charged us for drinks. Had to call multiple times for the receipt. They didn't seem apologetic about the mistake. The situation was award for me because someone else was paying. Make sure to check itemized receipt before you pay.
