The Guild House - Columbus
Horrible service. Had to go to hostess stand to ask for more coffee. Restaurant only about 10% full for brunch. Waiter never came back after serving our food. Eggs Benedict was a slice of white bread, cut in half with poached egg on each half. Tiniest portions. Won’t return. Total disappointment.
Our waitress Bobbie was exceptional. Her recommendations were spot on. She made our night!!!
Fantastic place, can’t wait to go back! Was a great place to go for our anniversary!
The food was delicious, but the server wasn’t quite friendly enough in our minds. My date and I noticed it and it became a talking point during our meal. Aside from that below-expectation tableside demeanor of the server though, it was great food, ambiance, and most definitely still worth dining there.
We had Ryan as our server and he was amazing! Food, ambiance, service, etc was all very good. Excited to go back and highly recommend it!
Great food and service.
As always, everything was outstanding.
Incredible, from the welcome at the door to incredible service and truly amazing food. The duck special was among the best I have ever eaten, anywhere. Very impressive.
Sadly, I would not recommend the Guild House after my experience last Friday. I’ve eaten there before and loved it, but this experience was terrible. Our service was worse than bad and food wasn’t much better. The manager comped our meals which was great, but I’ll have to think long and hard about taking an out-of-town guest there again.
Beautiful space with comfortable seating. If you’re looking for a special occasion place or a place to impress this restaurant would be a great choice. I highly recommend the lamb and waygu appetizers—both were perfectly cooked. Unfortunately both the halibut and sea bass were overcooked. Lamb burger was dry. And I probably would have enjoyed the trout special if it had been grilled instead of sous vide. The preparation left the trout with a mushy texture and it was terribly under seasoned. The mussels and shrimp with it though were smoky deliciousness. The free dessert (celebrating a birthday) was delicious: they threw at us the kitchen sink with ice cream, fudgey soft brownies, black cherries, granita and whip cream. Service was good. For a bottle of wine, three apps, and four entrees, with tip we spent just over $300.
We went for my daughter's birthday. The server made sure it was a special evening for her and everything was delicious!
Stumbled on this place while looking for a brunch. Loved everything about it!!! Would definitely go again!
Overall, an exceptional breakfast/brunch at an unhurried pace. Save room for delicious desserts. The atmosphere is wonderful. We recommend lobster toast, steak & eggs, steak salad, vegetable rotolo. Try the pea cake!
Great brunch. Not overly crowded or noisy. Good, healthy choices
Birthday dinner for my husband. Butternut squash soup was not good. Service was ok. We poured out wine the whole night except for first glass. Not attentive. We have been there many times before but service tonight was not equivalent to previous visits.
Amazing Experience and Food. Thank you Grant, Dane & The Team!
Amazing food prepared perfectly served by a friendly, attentive, informative professional (Chelsea). Expertly timed courses so as to not rush the celebration and yet not have us waiting for the next course. Beautiful setting with great attention to every detail from dishes and cups to art, lighting and decor...even the bathrooms were special. I will return EVERY time I am in Columbus, likely for multiple meals.
Not good. Stuck the two of us against the wall on a common seat between two large groups. One group kept adding people, way more than what the table could hold. Very uncomfortable with them right on top of us. Plenty of other tables available through our entire meal as it wasn’t crowded on a Wednesday night.
The Guild House is our number 1 go-to place with clients. The noise level is perfect for conversations about business, yet it's a perfect place to show off Columbus to out-of-town clients. They love it, and the Short North to boot.
The service was incredible (our server was super nice and attentive, and the courses all came out quickly), the cosktails were delicious, and the food was mostly excellent. The wagyu, beets, and pea cake were particularly amazing, and the only dish that disappointed us was the squash rotolo (a little soft and flavorless). Our waiter more than made up for that let-down, though, and we were still delighted overall!
Not warmly greeted by host even though we had a reservation, it took me three tries to flag down a server to send back my drink that had a long hair coming out of the garnish, and our server was absent for much of the meal. We would have probably had coffee and dessert, but decided it would probably take too long even though they weren’t busy so just paid the bill and went elsewhere. Too bad - used to be one of our favorite restaurants!
Great food and amazing service from our server, Ryan! The location in Short North is wonderful for exploring the area after dinner. We had friends visiting for out of town and they loved it!
Our 23rd Anniversary
Great place to celebrate our anniversary!
Beautiful restaurant, delicious food. My husband and I went on a friday night. Other than the wait for food everything was outstanding.
First time at The Guild House. Chelsea is an amazing server with deep knowledge of both the menu and wine list. We were on a time crunch and she did everything to make sure we met it.
It is a lovely place to spend time with family and friends. The atmosphere is pleasent, the A/C was too cold, but that is probably subjective. I disliked the music also. In an elevated restaurant, such a loud music was uncalled for. The food was good, wine was perfect, service was outstanding.
We came to celebrate a birthday for brunch and were delighted with a fabulous meal. The server was so friendly, the food unique and delicious and the ambiance eclectic. We will definitely be back.
Simply excellent!! Food was delicious . This was complimented by great design and original artwork.
Great happy hour food is awesome
Best breakfast in Columbus! They get it right every single time!
Quality did not match the price. Ambiance was also disappointing fur that class of restaurant.
This was not our first time at the Guild House and it was just as good as previous visits. I ordered the Halibut and my wife ordered their house specialty chicken entree. We also ordered shrimp cevice' with paw-paw puree (which was amazing considering how hard it is o find paw-paws).
Also in addition to a great wine list, they have a couple of European aperitifs' that are nearly impossible to find on wine lists in Columbus, mostly due to a lack of familiarity I think. The service was excellent as always!
The experience here was absolutely worth every penny! From the atmosphere (fresh flowers at each table) to the perfectly executed dishes. We will deal be back to fine here!
We wanted to go somewhere special to celebrate my birthday and couldn’t have picked a better restaurant. The place is beautiful, the service was superb and the food not only was well presented but the best I have ever had. They even gave me a free dessert when they learned it was my birthday dinner . I wish that we lived closer to them and I would go back as often as I could.
Top notch place. Ambiance is fun, relaxed, but still somehow formal. Wonderful balance. Food is excellent.
We were disappointed with the slow service on a morning that did not seem that busy. Also the food was only so so. Not what you would expect from this restaurant
This was one of the best meals I've ever had. I had the duck special and it was exquisite.
It makes a statement about how valued we are when the valet parking is suddenly taken away... Been a regular visitor always knowing we could have the car valeted. Suddenly it seems a better offer was available so I had to dump my wife and son on the sidewalk and go off to find a parking spot. Message is clear
Ordered a 7-7 cocktail and received water & some cheap whiskey, Returned and requested 7-up and Segrams 7.
Sister ordered a Filet @ $40, it was tough as can be and couldn't chew, Returned for another, 2nd Filet was just as tough, RETURNED again and got sea bass which was the size of 50 cent piece. We were all done eating by then.
Called ahead about son's special occasion and asked for a dessert to be brought to our table with a candle. NOPE, waitress knew nothing about it! She checked with hostess and Yes, it was in the notes.
All around, our experience was the worst but the server was very apologetic and it was not her fault. Will NEVER go back there for the prices you pay for terrible drinks & food!!
