Went to Sunday brunch. Would rank it a 4/10. Our server disappeared for long intervals and dirty dishes stacked up, had to go chase down other servers to get more to drink. Will not return.
It was a great experience. Will return.
Went for Sunday Brunch. Excellent selections, varieties, and awesome service. A great new experience.
I made reservations at The Grove for a group of five to have dinner prior to the Chainsmokers concert this weekend. When we arrived, the hostess acted like we didn't have a reservation while she searched her system, and made a snarky comment about how it mattered if we had one...even though (at 5pm) the place was virtually empty. Additionally, our server was pretty brusque when answering any questions or taking any requests, like it was a bother to be waiting our table. The food was good (albeit a bit overpriced) and location is nice (overlooking Discovery Green and a block from Toyota Center), but I probably wouldn't return.
I ate here several times during my stay in Houston, the food was good but not outstanding. The service was good.....more attentive some evenings than Others. There is a good selection of menu items including vegetarian options..
Very expensive for what is delivered. Around $33.00 for a piece of Salmon. No sides, no bread, nothing except water. Will not return. Restaurant was 75% empty even though the largest quilt show in the world was at the George R Brown across the street. Other restaurants had a waiting list.
Most of the food is just strange. We couldn't even find one dessert that sounded good. The one exception was the truffle fries. Excellent.
This is an expensive place. The food should be good.
And it's too loud to converse easily, even at a small table for 3.
It's convenient to the convention center. But that's no longer enough. We won't be going back.
EJ was full of great suggestions and very entertaining!
We stop by the Grove every year when we attend an event at the convention center. It's tradition! The staff is wonderful and ready to help with any special needs.
Food was good and well-presented. Service was excellent.
Tortilla soup was very tasty. BALT sandwich, burgers and seafood role were all excellent choices.
Love the view of the park from the restaurant.
Always a great time at the Grove! My wife and I were married here October 20th of last year and went to brunch to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. We asked to go upstairs to take pictures of where we said "I do" to one another and a staff member was nice enough to take our pictures. Very special moment and we will continue to visit intermittently but especially for our anniversaries. Huge thanks to the Grove for last year and yesterday afternoon!
Perfect place to go before a game especially if you are hungry. Wonderful food and wait staff.
Fabulous! Tried something new and it was also delicious!!
Wife’s parents were in town celebrating her birthday.
The Brunch buffet was amazing, but bring your appetite because there is to much for only one plate.
The food is average at best, mostly lacked creativity and was uninspired. It is entirely too pricey for the level of cuisine and portions they serve. I had high hopes going in and was incredibly disappointed. I believe much of the hype is their location. But they have missed an opportunity to do something special with this place.
I had not been here in years - so I was excited to come before a concert. The food was just not that good. The best item was the salad which the waiter strangely told us was "not substantial" enough to share. It as not huge - but it was fine. I ordered three side vegetable plates. The sweet potatoes were very good - but cold upon arrival. The cauliflower in tomato sauce was terrible. The sauce tasted just like a can of Hunt's tomato sauce. The mushrooms in steak sauce were not tasty at all. My husband ordered the chicken - he said it was good. I tried one of his roasted potatoes and it was under cooked. We also had the bread - which we both enjoyed. It is a beautiful space. I just don't think the food is special.
Great, but too loud for a business lunch. Location is downtown so the ambiance would be perfect is noise is dampened.
EJ was an outstanding waiter!
Awesome meal and service!!
Food was spectacular! Drinks were amazing (best mojito I have ever had! would so recommend going for happy hour before a concert, a great start to a night!
Superb food and service. Very relaxing atmosphere, sitting along the window. The bartender nailed my beverage. For me it was a bit loud, but it was pretty full with a few groups, so understandable. Very reasonably priced for what you get.
good ambiance, tasty food , located in discovery green, good to walk around afterward.
Wanted to try something new for my dad’s birthday. The restaurant is gorgeous. Service was good - not overly attentive but also a little slow at times. Value for the size of the portions was great but food was just okay. They brought out an ice cream dessert for my dad in honor of his birthday which we thought was a nice touch as we did not ask for it - until the bill came and we found out they charged us for it!!! Also charged us a 20% service fee on a party of 6 ..... which I can understand but I usually only encounter that when I’m in a party of 8 or more.
Great drinks and food
None of the food was hot. Everything was either cold or lukewarm. Deserts and service were great!
My family and I enjoyed our Sunday brunch. It was our first time and it was HRW $35 per person for brunch buffet. Mimosas and other brunch cocktails were $15 with 1 cent refills. All around service was superb. Food quality and presentation was great. Meat selections from fish to chicken to the brisket were all juicy and packed with flavors. Your breakfast sweet staples such as French toast, crepes and pancakes was superb. You get the option to add more syrup, but I enjoyed them without the extra sweetness. Their bacon was spot on juicy and not salty which I enjoyed very much. They have a couple of options for Benedict’s and an omelette station. You can also make your own salad and choose your own dressing. Everything was fresh. There was a lot of choices. The mimosa tasted great. There are many choices for desserts too: donuts, panna cota, cheesecake, cake and fruits. I definitely recommend dining with the Grove.
Lunch was very good in great setting
Good service too
Awesome! Great service and great bottomless pool penny drinks
Great food, reasonable sized portions, unique dishes. Our server, Emmanuel, was great...very knowledgeable, efficient, and helped make our meal fun! Thank you, Emmanuel!
I can not recall our server name :( but it started with a B. He was great in making sure we were taken care of and that our friends peanut allergy was acknowledged. I give him 5 stars :)
We had a Best Friend Brunch. The food and service was amazing. Two words... chocolate mouse.
Great service! Nice and relax environment! Bussers are very attentive!!! I highly recommend the rotisserie chicken!!!
The food was mediocre at best. The bread was stale. Vegetables were overcooked and poorly presented. One of the least appetizing meals I've had in Houston.
fav dish black drum on half shell. unique flavor and tender meat.
Staff was friendly. Pricing two expensive for the quality, what I ordered as the main course was ok, dessert selection was disappointing. I could have gone to Vic & Anthony's for the same price.
The staff is very nice. The food was good. I wouldn’t call it amazing. But good taste. The food portions are actually very good, unlike other restaurants what serve huge plates but the price for the portion is rather higher. This is the second time we have been here. We will definitely come back here.
My husband and I and another couple had dinner at The Grove on a Monday night. I’d made a reservation, but we could have easily gotten a table without one. Again, because it was a Monday, we easily found a park on the street. It was Houston Restaurant Weeks so we chose items from RW menu. The other couple had the pork chop, my husband had the petite beef and I had salmon. Everything was beautifully plated and delicious. The salmon was good, but I wished I had gotten the pork chop instead. It was amazing. We all had the wedge salad to start, but chose different desserts. We all agreed that the chocolate moose was the best, although it was a bit rich. I also had the pomegranate margarita and loved it. The service was spectacular as well. Beautifully situation at Discovery Green and perfect for night dining. Great place for a date night or night out with friends.
