There were some loud tables but overall it was an awesome experience with great food. It’s just down the street from us so we’ll be back!
I went for a New Year's date and it was lovely. I wasn't aware that they had a smaller menu than usual but, the food was great. It's about $150 for two people to eat. This is definitely a special occasion restaurant.
Tried the Happy Hour menu for some lite bites and discounted drinks. Was pleasantly surprised. The food was just the right portion size and even had Milagro Tequila for $5! Great Friday night out with my guy
The Grove is a very nice place to enjoy anytime of day!!!
Just ok! Hoping for better food quality.
Our party of four thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service. We were delighted with wedge salad and the tasty little cherry tomatoes that had been 'pickled'.
The access to Discovery Green is excellent. We went to the Grove specifically to see the lighted origami birds display. It was a lovely evening.
Had the New York strip and it was amazing. Great place for ambiance by the park.
Great food wonderful service
I requested a table by the window for a nice view for our Anniversary brunch. They were not available since they were used for larger parties. That was very disappointing. We were seated at the back of the restaurant with a less than exciting view.
TLDR; started off with problems and ended on a good note. Would try again.
We arrived about 15 minutes late because of traffic from the Woodlands; we notified the restaurant that we would be late and they said that was fine. We showed up and they said that they had no tables in the main dining and they gave us this table that wasn’t typical place for eating but rather for sitting while waiting for a table. I wasn’t too pleased.
The manager came over to apologize and offered complimentary appetizers. He made sure we had fast service as we had a concert to attend at the Toyota center and made up for the initial bad experience. Will have to try again when we have more time. The salmon was delicious! My wife thought the petite filet and it was good, but not great. Lastly, it was very loud inside, so if that bothers you, I would find somewhere else or eat outside.
Excellent service. Great location for Toyota Center events
Birthday before the theater
I made a request for the birthday and that wasn’t fulfilled however last year steak 48 was kind enough to follow through it. This change would be nice
Great service and food in a unique outdoors-type venue in the heart of downtown Houston. Always try to dine at the Grove when I am in town
Beautiful and pleasant dining experience! The decor, both inside and outside provides an excellent atmosphere for dining, while celebrating, having a business dinner, or just date night. The server was very customer oriented - and the food was delicious. I had the strip steak, my colleague enjoyed the bone-in ribeye, and all was very enjoyable.
Great location during Discovery Green events!
It was a great experience. Mariam, our server, was the best!
Food and service were excellent. Love the view of Discovery Green.
I had the salmon entree and my husband had the crab Mac and cheese. Both were very well-prepared, well-presented and delicious.
A fantastic culinary experience in downtown Houston!
Overall a wonderful venue, great service and lovely location. Price point was a bit high but food was tasty.
Great food, cocktails were nice, and the outdoor seating was peaceful.
Went to Sunday brunch. Would rank it a 4/10. Our server disappeared for long intervals and dirty dishes stacked up, had to go chase down other servers to get more to drink. Will not return.
It was a great experience. Will return.
Went for Sunday Brunch. Excellent selections, varieties, and awesome service. A great new experience.
I made reservations at The Grove for a group of five to have dinner prior to the Chainsmokers concert this weekend. When we arrived, the hostess acted like we didn't have a reservation while she searched her system, and made a snarky comment about how it mattered if we had one...even though (at 5pm) the place was virtually empty. Additionally, our server was pretty brusque when answering any questions or taking any requests, like it was a bother to be waiting our table. The food was good (albeit a bit overpriced) and location is nice (overlooking Discovery Green and a block from Toyota Center), but I probably wouldn't return.
I ate here several times during my stay in Houston, the food was good but not outstanding. The service was good.....more attentive some evenings than Others. There is a good selection of menu items including vegetarian options..
Very expensive for what is delivered. Around $33.00 for a piece of Salmon. No sides, no bread, nothing except water. Will not return. Restaurant was 75% empty even though the largest quilt show in the world was at the George R Brown across the street. Other restaurants had a waiting list.
Most of the food is just strange. We couldn't even find one dessert that sounded good. The one exception was the truffle fries. Excellent.
This is an expensive place. The food should be good.
And it's too loud to converse easily, even at a small table for 3.
It's convenient to the convention center. But that's no longer enough. We won't be going back.
EJ was full of great suggestions and very entertaining!
We stop by the Grove every year when we attend an event at the convention center. It's tradition! The staff is wonderful and ready to help with any special needs.
Food was good and well-presented. Service was excellent.
Tortilla soup was very tasty. BALT sandwich, burgers and seafood role were all excellent choices.
Love the view of the park from the restaurant.
Always a great time at the Grove! My wife and I were married here October 20th of last year and went to brunch to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. We asked to go upstairs to take pictures of where we said "I do" to one another and a staff member was nice enough to take our pictures. Very special moment and we will continue to visit intermittently but especially for our anniversaries. Huge thanks to the Grove for last year and yesterday afternoon!
Perfect place to go before a game especially if you are hungry. Wonderful food and wait staff.
Fabulous! Tried something new and it was also delicious!!
Wife’s parents were in town celebrating her birthday.
The Brunch buffet was amazing, but bring your appetite because there is to much for only one plate.
The food is average at best, mostly lacked creativity and was uninspired. It is entirely too pricey for the level of cuisine and portions they serve. I had high hopes going in and was incredibly disappointed. I believe much of the hype is their location. But they have missed an opportunity to do something special with this place.
I had not been here in years - so I was excited to come before a concert. The food was just not that good. The best item was the salad which the waiter strangely told us was "not substantial" enough to share. It as not huge - but it was fine. I ordered three side vegetable plates. The sweet potatoes were very good - but cold upon arrival. The cauliflower in tomato sauce was terrible. The sauce tasted just like a can of Hunt's tomato sauce. The mushrooms in steak sauce were not tasty at all. My husband ordered the chicken - he said it was good. I tried one of his roasted potatoes and it was under cooked. We also had the bread - which we both enjoyed. It is a beautiful space. I just don't think the food is special.
Great, but too loud for a business lunch. Location is downtown so the ambiance would be perfect is noise is dampened.
