No one greeted us. Got squished into a table in the corner. No water service. No bread. Inattentive waiter. Food was good but ambience was not. No need to ever go back
Very limited menu and the items on it are overpriced. I will not be going back.
We were lucky enough to be seated at a table in a secluded patio in front of the restaurant. Very private and quite special. We shared a Wonderful spiced cauliflower appetizer, then my wife had the brioche-crumb covered chicken (amazing) and I had the ricotta and truffle ravioli (good, but not as good as the chicken). Wine menu offered a good range of choices - the Chardonnay we selected paired perfectly with the food. Service was friendly and attentive. Definitely worth a visit.
It is the best food in Delray!! Wonderful brioche bread!!
There's a lot to be said for consistency. So many restaurants in Delray are spotty - a good meal than a meh meal. Not the Grove. Every time we've eaten there, it's perfect from top to bottom. Our table was ready, our service (Alyssa) was impeccable, the timing is always great, food wonderful, and the vibe in the place is special. Overall, I still think it's the finest place to eat in the city, and the fact that it's in Pineapple Grove makes parking and access easier.
Was my first time at the Grove and I will definitely be back! Everything from the ambiance, to the service and food was fantastic.
Highly recommend the portobello mushroom soup and chicken entree.
Todd was great and creative. Welcome upon entry table wasn’t quite ready but they were quick to set it up. Service was slow...very slow.
Service was super slow and the place wasn’t even crowded! Food was delicious but the lack of service “killed the buzz”. I hope they get it right sooner than later.
You know when you're talking to someone at a party and they can't be bothered to pay attention because they are too busy looking over your shoulder for someone better to see? That's The Grove's owner, or maître d, or whomever is running the show.
I had a wonderful experience there in November, had wanted to share it with some restaurant connoisseur friends. It took weeks to get a 6:30 reservation, which turns out is just a placeholder for the later, preferred diners. We were late, no fault of our own (late plane, tennis tournament in Delray, etc), called numerous times on the way to let them know, no answer, were met with this owner who informed me right away that we would need to leave the table by 8:30. We hustled through dinner and would have been finished, but were waiting on slow dessert and bill delivery when he came by to say "OK Kids, time to go". Really.
Now, we aren't the young, hipster crowd, so I guess that is what is preferable; middle-aged and wealthy doesn't cut it. It was some trouble to collect our group there and I was embarrassed at our experience, sorry I made the suggestion.
The food was terrific, I love the ambiance, the waitress lovely. Too bad that the attitude will keep us from going back. They will miss us when it's July and slow...
The food, ambiance and service was excellent. So glad i was able to get a reservation there for Valentine's Day!
The finest food in South Florida. Creative. Beautiful presentation. A gem!
Great restaurant. Always delicious!
Consistently the best meal in town! Food just explodes on the palate. Wine list is unique and outstanding. The service is outstanding as well, and extremely knowledgeable of the wine list and menu, offering great recommendations.
We enjoyed the Grove and would definitely go back. Had an early reservation so it was quiet when we arrived but filled up quickly. Waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful with our meal choices. Happy Hour was a nice surprise as well!
Entrees took over an hour to come out. $38 price tag for the pasta dish is laughable. It was 8 bites.....
Not a great experience I hate to say.
Would have been 5 stars, but they rushed us out after barely finishing dessert. Rude.
The food is good, but not mind-blowing, especially at this price point. Despite the printed menu, the kitchen was out of several items - both on the food and drink side. It took nearly 2 hours for our food to reach us after ordering. The service was good (though stretched thin), but overall, the experience was underwhelming. As locals, we’ve heard such wonderful things. I would give it another chance, but I won’t be running back.
Fun atmosphere, and relaxed vibe. Not too noisy. Service was good but not great. Was poured warm white wine but that was quickly switched for a colder bottle.
Would have liked more items on the menu that would be easy to share, especially sides. My chicken had two larger Brussel sprouts cut in half as a garnish. Would have loved to order more.
Would definitely go back and will recommend to friends.
The Grove is fast becoming my favorite Delray Beach place. The food for all three times I've dined there is delicious. This last time, I chose two of the appetizers instead of the main. The portobello mushroom soup was smooth, creamy, deliciousness for the chilly evening and paired with the beet salad, and a glass of Pinot Noir made a great quick, scrumptious meal. Prices are comparable to other restaurants of this quality, so not cheap but not the most expensive.
One of Delray’s best!
Loved celebrating a birthday here! They made it special with candles in the desert after an amazing meal!
Excellent and inventive food. Nice service. Main dining room can get a bit warm because it is adjacent to the kitchen.
Worth a voyage.
Second time back because we love it so much! Off the beaten path from Atlantic Ave, very small but special place with delicious food and even better dessert!
First rate food. Beautiful room. Lovely ambiance
An overall excellent meal. I would say the best in Delray Beach. Creative and original.
First class fine dining with great service.
Chef is amaz ng.
The food was wonderful and not your usual run of the mill . Very inventive preparations and good! The service was attentive and friendly.
Definitely a keeper. Nice to be off the Main Street as well
Again an exceptional meal. Was here sometime back and the food and service as good if not better. Small points that will not deter us from returning but should be looked at was the fact that in a restaurant of this caliber one should be able to transfer the bar bill over to the restaurant. This is something that has been around of some time and most have found a system to make it convenient for the guest and not the bartender. Secondly to have a fold up table in this type of restaurant reflects poorly on the quality that they have here . Still a great experience.
This is not hyperbole: The Grove is the perfect dining experience . Test me.
Always Fab ... Fab...Fab. We’re big fans and longtime customers. The quality of the food is incredible!! Very unique preparations. Though they do have so some simple dishes , it’s not the place to go to to eat bland.
A very special spot !!!
The Grove has an very nice menu which never fails to please. Our party of four had an assortment of dishes, and all were deemed excellent. This is one of our favorite restaurants in the area.
The Grove is the perfect trifecta—amazing food, great atmosphere and fantastic service. Small and intimate, it feels like the chef is only cooking for you. The brioche chicken is my husband’s favorite dish ever and the Nutella donuts are divine.
The food was fabulous and our server was delightful and extremely attentive. I will definitely go back!
These magnificent reviews on here... so had to try. Had an outside table which was excellent. The welcome brioche also wonderful. Wine list is a carefully selected range for most anyone at a fair price point. Our dishes were at least good, some very good but I think shy of the excellence others cite. The tuna plus foie had a surprising texture like a pancake. Not what I was expecting. Portions definitely fair for the price.
Made a reservation through open table and told them it was our anniversary celebration. Restaurant was only 1/3 full. Given a table isolated against a wall. Told the owner I don’t like to sit by a wall. He told me that I didn’t reserve a “table”. I said I made a reservation. He said that he has regulars who like their table. He reluctantly put us at a corner table. He the came over about 3 minutes later with some nonsensical story about having to change our table. We were very uncomfortable. If it wasn’t our Anniversary I would have walked out. Ordered lamb chops which were mediocre. Not returning. Too many restaurants to choose from.
This is our second visit to The Grove, and will certainly make it to our top five in Delray. This trip, we had appetizers for dinner. The pasta was up to every standard, the beet salad was delicious with a pickled fennel bite that added a great zip. The stand out was the 'special egg' dish. Creamy polenta on the bottom with bacon, a perfect poached egg, and gruyere foam on top. Very creative and delicious. Highly recommend.
The grove is a great little spot off Atlantic Ave. we went for a romantic date night and that’s exactly what it was. They have a separate bar next door. Cool spot, looks like a garage... great drinks and a bar menu of appetizers. The fish dip and dirty martinis were great. We then went next door for dinner. A bit pricey but worth it. Food was yum, atmosphere was chill, quiet and romantic. I loved the open kitchen concert as well.
We will definitely go back. :)
We always enjoy our visits to The Grove! Having dined here multiple times, I have to say, Chef Michael's combination of Tuna Carpaccio with Foie Gras was probably the best thing I have eaten at this restaurant. Always creative, always delicious, always an enjoyable meal!
