The Grilled Oyster Company
Amazing food and service!
Great food and cocktails/wine. Happy hour is among the best around. Glad we have this gem in Potomac.
We went for happy hour and it was fabulous! Great food, exceptional servers and good wine. Will definitely come back.
It must have been an off night for the staff. With a reservation, we were seated all the way in the back watching a sailboat video. It took several minutes to be waited on. Kind of felt like we were forgotten. Server did not know the beers on tap. The oysters both on the half shell and baked were peppered with bits of shell. Our entrees were delicious.
Lobster Cobb salad too pricey for very small portions of lobster. Disappointed.
We will definitely visit again when we are in the area. I would love if the chef would share his sweet potato cake recipe with me. I live in South Carolina so am a long ways away and would like to make it.
We come here because the food is great but our server is always fantastic. He goes out of his way to make sure we are happy at all times.
Had a great time here Sunday night with family. It happened to be their 7- year anniversary so they had music and free samplers also. The ambience was great and the food was great and they even have a kids menu so my 5- year old was happy too. We definitely will go back again.
Awesome experience! The food (scallops and crab cake) were outstanding. Service could not have been better. Will return!
Consistently good food and attentive service.
So enjoyed the good food and nice evening out with open windows.
Always dependable , food choices are excellent and the preparation and presentation is excellent.
We had oysters and they were only fair
The fried clams were a bit better
The food was really very good a very good value for the price. The grilled trio was amazing. The main problem is that the service has certainly quite some room for improvement. A good experience overall
This is my husband's and my favorite special place. This visit was to celebrate our anniversary - #39!
Good neighborhood restaurant. Food is tasty, but pricey, menu so-so, service good, but at dinnertime, the noise level from the bar is very high. My husband has a partial hearing loss and that poses a problem. My friends who joined us wanted to eat at the GO; otherwise, we wouldn't have chosen it. Go at lunchtime.
Enjoyed Restaurant Week lunch. Great value. Excellent cream of crab soup and blackened shrimp poke. Especially delicious oysters Rockefeller and soft shell crab. Very fresh and will definitely return. Jeff, our server, was very helpful.
The grilled oysters, seared ahi tuna, crab cake, and cream of crab soup were excellent. We enjoyed the wide variety of wines by the glass and microbrews.
The service was good and it was delightful to be in a restaurant where the noise level accommodated conversation.
All in all a great experience. We will be back.
The oysters are excellent. We had the bourbon and rockefeller ones. The crab hush puppies were unfortunately very bland and did not taste good. If you are in the mood for oysters definitely try this place.
Family meal was great and they let us talk, order and eat on our time table. Food very good and fun specials. Very consistent.
Enjoyed the ambiance and food! Great place!
Amazing crab cake! All backfin lump crab meat! Our server was also exceptional! Everyone should try this place!
I love the Grilled Oyster & would recommend it to anyone looking for a great dinner in an easy location. Although it's in a strip mall anchored by a Giant Food store, it is appropriate for an easy lunch, or a delightful dinner. The food selections are creative, well presented, and very tasty! Highly recommend the drunken oysters as an appetizer ($ by the each). I'll definitely be back often.
Excellent service, great food, good ambiance, great value for money
I arrived a little before my reservation and was seated immediately. I was alone so I asked the bartender if I could have a seat at the bar to watch a professional lacrosse game that was on one of the 3 monitors. He was very pleasant and offered great conversation, took my drink and food order quickly, and the food and drinks were served rapidly but not in a way to rush me in and out to free up space. Everything was excellent and exactly what I had ordered. The bill was very reasonable, not cheap but what one expects for good quality seafood. I would recommend the restaurant highly and will return myself.
We've been to both locations and the food is very good but the service in Potomac is extremely slow. The restaurant wasn't very full but it took at least 30 minutes to get our appetizers. If you go to Potomac be prepared to be there for a while.
Loved it! Grilled oysters to start and lobster with grilled veggies for my entree. Everything was tasty. Crab biscuits were great, too. Finished with creams brûlée, both chocolate and vanilla were fantastic!!
Will be back for Tuesday night raw oyster specials!
Great experience, but Naveed, our waiter, made it even better. He anticipated our needs, was courteous and exceeded our expectations (and we've both worked in restaurants). The food was great - who knew an oyster bar made such a good burger! Wish there were a few more vodka-based cocktails as I'm not a gin or tequila person, but the wine list more than made up for it. We can't wait to get back and work our way through the menu.
I told them it was for a birthday celebration but they did not acknowledge it. Disappointing!
Loved it. Stopped by for happy hour years ago and finally made it back for dinner. Excellent food, good service, and outstanding value for the area.
First time here and loved it. I had the Ahi tuna tacos which have a lot of flavor and are delicious! I tasted the mahi and it was fantastic. Soup and fried clams were great too. Amazing service! We’ll be back
Food is always delicious!
An amazing meal. With great service
Nice place. Kinda pricey ($25+) entries. Wife had rock fish and really enjoyed it.
My fried oysters were also very good.
Service was a bit hit and miss. No bread from server-had to ask twice. No water refills. Place was busy.
The waiter was attentive, the food was awesome, the mixed drinks were very tasty! Highly recommend it.
Service was on point. We didn't have to wait around for our server to come back to the table at all.
We started with raw oysters and they were definitely fresh. Then we had grilled oysters, they were huge and very tasty. We also had the mussels and clams which were delicious. We moved onto entrees and I had the scallops, which were amazing. My husband ordered the fish trio with Salmon, Mahi, and Tuna, it was very good. My son had macaroni and cheese and the portion was enough for 2 children, it was huge!
I highly recommend this restaurant. Everything was outstanding.
My wife and I had a very lovely meal at The Grilled Oyster. She had the Salmon which was done perfectly and I had a fabulous clam chowder which I shared with my wife and a dish containing shrimp, mussels. crab, clams and fish which was excellent. The ambiance was very nice. I would recommend this restaurant if you are in the mood for a very good seafood dinner.
Service could be better. Food was good, not great.
This was the beat food I’ve had in a long time and I eat out a lot!! The crab cake had NO filler. It’s an expensive experience, but totally worth it!
