The Grille at Palm Court
My favorite restaurant in Cincinnati. The room is beautiful and something out of another era. The food was excellent and the staff attentive and friendly.
Perfect for family celebrations. I prefer the old name: Orchids at Palm Court, Grill is so bland, unclassy and overused, does NOT do justice to the high class restaurant "at Palm Court!" It will always be Orchids to me, changing the name is tantamount to removing all Art Deco decor!
Food was not very good. Service was good though.
We took good friends to brunch and wanted to give them a memorable experience. They loved it, as did we. Palm Ciurt never disappoints. A little more costly than some other places, but so worth it.
We drove over an hour to experience the brunch here. Based on prior reviews I expected far more from the experience. The restaurant was not busy and we arrived early but we were told to wait to be seated which was fine. However based on how they demanded punctuality by stating we had to be seated at our reservation time we were frustrated that we ended up waiting past our scheduled reservation. The buffet areas were quite small and if you wanted a made to order omelet it was a 10-15 min wait. All the rest of my food was ice cold when I got back to the table. We had followed the route that our server suggested. Hands down the best part was the cold shrimp and crab legs. I would recommend attending just for those. Everything else I could take or leave. The desserts were absolutely not to par with what I would expect of this caliber brunch.
Great place for a special occasion--perfect birthday brunch before a matinee at the Aronoff. Plenty of choices for anyone to love. While some of the dishes were only so-so, the whole experience is enjoyable and special. We'll go back for sure.
Breakfast buffet was amazing with a great selection. The sausages were the best I've ever had for a long time.
Was a very busy Sunday with lots of small children not behaving very well. This has not been my usual experience and detracted from the ambiance I’m used to and was hoping to share with someone who had never been. Food was excellent but was not getting replenished as easily with do many patrons. Overall still very good.
We had an early breakfast before checking out, and the food and service were good. The hostess first tried to seat us in a giant booth sort of thing in the very dark section of the eating area. After we asked to move to a regular table in an upper section near the window, it was light and pleasant. Price was high but the buffet was fairly extensive. We were there early so it was not crowded or loud, except for a couple who brought in a noisy toddler and were seated near us. Luckily we were almost finished with our food.
Everything was very nice. It was worth the trip. I would recommend this place to everyone who wants to enjoy a good foodie experience.
Delicious, great variety and beautiful room with attentive service - a real treat!
Breakfeast buffet was awesome plenty of meats and fruits!!
Very good!
Overpriced for mediocre food, but the ambiance is fun for a special occasion.
Father’s Day
The setting is elegant, the service was very prompt and friendly, and the food was delicious. We had a brussels sprout appetizer that was superb, and the beet and goat cheese salad was also wonderful. The restaurant is very quiet and so makes a lovely place for a get together to chat with friends and family.
I would recommend for the ambiance. Lunch was good but not great. I understand that they don't get the number of guests during the lunch hour compared to dinner, and it makes sense that there would be limited options on the lunch menu. I had the fish tacos and I've had better elsewhere. Service was very good but I would choose somewhere else for lunch.
Food was great! Live piano music was beautiful. The whole experience was wonderful and I highly recommend. It is a little expensive but totally worth it for a special occasion.
Always a great menu and wonderful experience. Staff is courteous and aim to please. Makes being downtown special. ❤
Excellent brunch with many things for all. Great desserts, perfectly sized to allow you to try several. Truly beautiful Art Deco room, and the live music was wonderful! My only problem was that those of us who just wanted waffles/breakfast meat were stuck in line (for far too long) with the folks waiting for omelets. This should have been split up to allow for more movement among the warm breakfast items. Otherwise perfect experience!
We had dinner at the restaurant. Next day we brought friends back with us to the brunch. They will be back, and so will we! all was delicious, and in a wonderful, beautiful setting. Very high end.
Overall, excellent. It’s definitely the place to go on special occasions.
I was hoping to have a better selection of fruits and vegetables. Some lighter options to go with all the heavy options. Although most items were good, nothing really out of the ordinary. Not worth the money. The Atmosphere is better for dinner, as it is so dark.
I had the tasting menu with wine match. Every course was excellent. Great wines as well. Wife had lamb and shared a 90 day aged wagyu steak the next night. One of the best restaurants I have been to.
The best brunch in Cincinnati.
Oh my goodness! This was a feast not only for taste buds and tummy, but for the eyes and the live piano playing was the whipped cream and cherry on top. The French Art Deco is gorgeous! The food was delicious and there were so many wonderful choices. Everything from pastries, bagels, to create - your-own omelette and the top-it-your-way waffles, to a carving board, to charcuterie, to salad, to DESSERTS (!). Seriously - the food was delicious, fresh, and abundant. The atmosphere was just beautiful - not just because of the decor but because the feel was one of calm- an oasis, an escape from the rush and pressures of the day-to-day. The service was outstanding. Everyone was friendly, our drinks were consistently topped off, used plates quickly removed - all without feeling like anyone was hovering or rushing you. Quite the opposite, we were being pampered. We left looking forward to our next visit. Thank you, to everyone at the Grille at Palm Court for our best dining experience since we moved to the area. You made a birthday outing very special!
Food is always delicious and service is always outstanding. A wonderful brunch---the bread pudding is out of this world, but so is everything else. The trick is portion control so you can try a little of everything!
Sunday brunch
Lovely Art Deco atmosphere. Food beautifully displayed
Many, many choices. Lots of seafood! Good service
Outstanding and excellent value
Great food, Great service. Don't miss the view
The brunch is definitely not worth the price. Service was awful. Crab was very small and other food was plain. Definitely not work $44 per person.
We booked an 11:15 am brunch reservation, as we've had the brunch there before and it was excellent. When we arrived we were told that our reservation was not received due to "issues with the website that had been occurring for a couple of days". (When I booked the reservation it seemed to go through as usual and I recieved a confirmation email.) Rather than waiting for a table we opted for bar seats, and the service we received was reluctant to the point that I asked if it was alright that we'd sat at the bar, thinking that maybe we had been misinformed about bar seating. Additionally the seafood station was very picked over when we arrived and wasn't refreshed during the time that we were there (easily an hour and a half), significantly diminishing the overall value. We've had great experiences there before, but next time I'll definitely take some precautions to ensure that we have a better time such as calling ahead to confirm our table reservation etc.
The food and service was awesome. The old hotel feel was very nice. Free valet parking was a nice touch. Our family was celebrating several birthdays and we all enjoyed the day very much.
We had a wonderful experience on Sunday at the brunch. We were celebrating Valentines Day and chose this restaurant because we enjoy eating at unique places. We were not disappointed in any way. The food was excellent, the waiter(s) were always there as if they read our minds and the Art Deco was amazing. If you are looking for more than a great meal, but a great experience, then eating in the Orchid dining room at the Grille at Palm Court is right for you!
We had a very nice time. We were seated quickly at a lovely table in the middle of the dining room. Amazing view of the entire room.
The lousiest meal I had in years.
The Palm is always a treat. I was sad to see the Bloody Mary Bar gone, but the one I ordered was delicious. Prime rib and sautéed to order bars were fantastic. The chicken in chipotle cream tasted great, but anytime a chafer is used, you run the risk of being a bit dry, and I found that in a few of the dishes. I would have liked to see a few more salad choices. They still do a great job, and we had a great experience. Our server was fantastic!!!!!!!
While this is set up buffet style, the service is always excellent. There are so many food options--and, in some cases, exquisite food options--that it is hard for anyone to leave disappointed.
Beautiful place to go to. Great ambiance. Nice choice of foods. I was just a little disappointed for the taste/temperature of some of the foods, like the blandness of the crab legs. The sweet potato casserole wasn’t good and some of the pastries looked prettier than they tasted. Service was great.
We had breakfast at The Grille a couple of years ago after a wedding. Couldn't wait to go back! It's pricy, but well worth the money. Food is delicious, ambience is gorgeous, service is perfect. They go out of their way to make customers feel pampered. Would definitely recommend!
We were all looking forward to this lunch. Not busy at all, noon on Saturday. The girls at front desk were not attentive to seat us. We were waiting for 2 more people, we let them know when the 2 arrived. We waited, again, not busy, they did not seat us. We addressed them again, they apologized and sat us. We had a party of 5. When the food was delivered, a garden salad was delivered, missing the ordered grilled chicken. The waiter offered to send it back to add the chicken. The offer was declined, everyone else was eating, it would have taken too long. The dressing was also missing. When the bill was delivered, the waited said he discounted the wrong meal, honestly, he took off $1.00 or &1.50. For that calabar of restaurant the salad should have been comped.
The atmosphere and company made the lunch great, not the meals! I'm sure we will be back, but might come not hungry.
