The Grille at Bear Creek Ratings and Reviews
Restaurant is located in the Bear Creek resort and is a nice looking venue. You can dress up or down as many guests are there to ski. They live music when we were there which was nice and our server was great. Food was above average and priced as you might expect to find inside of a resort. We'd go again!
We have dinned here on a few different occasions and always enjoy, the food and scenery are always the best. This evening was no different. We started with the Baltimore Roll and the Fiji Roll which were excellent. We finished with the BBQ Ribs and the cabbage salad which is a favorite of ours. We opted not to do dessert.
We always have a very enjoyable time here and with the backdrop of the Ski Slopes and the Lifts and the Huge fireplace which we sat by made for a perfect romantic evening.
We will return for many more enjoyable dinners.
My husband and I had dinner at Bear Creek for Christmas Eve and it was the perfect holiday romantic date. We started off with drinks by the fireplace in the bar area and were seated by the window to watch the skiers as we ate dined. The food was delicious too!
We came to Bear Creek to celebrate my husband's 32nd birthday. Lodge was amazing, cozy, and it just so happened to snow the day we got there. The restaurant was everything we hoped for - great drink selection, fantastic food, nice atmosphere. We will definitely be back and hope to bring a few friends next time.
I was not happy with my meal. There was no flavor or taste to it. I ordered the fettuccine with scallops and instead of mussels, I asked to have shrimp instead with a white wine butter sauce. When it came out, it was cold, and there was just no real taste to it. I was quite dis-appointed in it. My friends had the appetizer of crab dip, and they didn’t care for or understand the bread crumb topping. We will probably only come back for sandwiches or burgers from now on.
My third visit and as with the first two, I'm so impressed with the level of quality and service at this resort and restaurant. Our server (Layla) in particular was outstanding, the food was terrific and the ambiance is exactly what you'd hope for at a slope-side upscale restaurant.
Was there for my wife's birthday, which I made the restaurant aware of when I made the reservation. Other than a "Happy Birthday" from the hostess when we arrived, there was no mention of it. Had the baby ribs and my wife had the fried shrimp. Although plentiful, my ribs were dry and not as tender as you would hope they should be. My wife's shrimp looked good, but she said it was not as tasty as it looked. I would say the same for the hot crab dip we both shared. My French onion soup was excellent however. We sat outside on a beautiful Sunday night. An entertaining jazz trio played live music. The outside atmosphere was terrific and very comfortable.
Very well decorated and themed with rustic decor. Service was inattentive (we were never checked on and drinks were never refilled until we got the check at which point we saw them fill water pitcher from the tap) and not very friendly (no smiles, all business), but food was very good. Our plates came out extremely hot leaving us to believe that they were heated in a microwave instead of cooked fresh. Overall, it was a nice meal and we would eat there again for the great, rustic ambience and food selection.
We are usually very happy with our dinners here! We feel like we got an off night, this time. We have always been highly satisfied, but this last visit the 'special' entree that I got lacked flavor (creamy saffron scallops over fettuccine). We always get the creme brûlée and it has been excellent! This time we were disappointed in that ... the creme was too warm and the sugar on top had no crunch.
We were bragging about the place to our friends that we took to dinner . Our friend ordered the same special that I did and she said it was bland. We felt bad that their first experience there was not as excellent as we had told them it would be. Bear Creek is our 'go to' restaurant normally, but this past visit left us a little disappointed, especially for the amount we spent.
I was very disappointed that by 7:20pm they ran out of the scallop special. The last thing I want to hear is that it was so good, there was none left. Reminds me why our friends will not go because of a bad oyster experience. They ran out of oysters right after the special started on more than one occasion. Plan ahead! Hell we had reservations! Really bummed!
