About The Grill
The Grill is located in the heart of Waltham, off Moody Street and across from the Embassy Cinema. We are proud of our charming and casual family restaurant. We use an international mix of recipes, unified with a theme of Mediterranean kabobs and vegetarian dished. Above every consideration, we want the freshest and pristine quality of the meats and produce to speak for themselves. Healthy cooking is our main objective and that's why we only serve the food that we would cook at home for our family.

The Grill Ratings and Reviews
Delicious Mediterranean food! Eggplant dip, humus, etc were really excellent with good pita bread. Beef gyro with good with slices of pickled beets as an extra accompaniment. Beef koobidah, not sure if I have that spelling correct, was nicely spiced ground beef kabob that was crisp on the outside and moist inside. I will definitely get that again. Tabulah salad was very good. Everything seemed fresh and made to order, generous portions. Very good service. Perfect for before or after a movie. Cheerful interior, bright and clean AND we could hear ourselves talk!
Family-friendly restaurant. Reasonable Mediterranean selections. Appetizers good. Lamb Shish-kabobs were somewhat overcooked despite requesting them to be medium rare. Could have used a bit more seasoning; the flavors were fine, just nothing special and a little underwhelming. There was a red sauce that looked and tasted like salsa out of a jar served between the kabobs and the rice, which seemed out of place and a bit odd. The rice pilaf was moist and again, a bit underwhelming in flavor. All in all an ok meal, but nothing special.
Our service was excellent. quick and knowledgeable. The Middle Eastern menu was just what we were looking for. Nicely prepared, simple home style food. The hummus was fresh and the kebabs flavorful, not dry as they sometimes are. Would return. Wish they had beer and wine. Very convenient for cinema across street and municipal parking nearby.
Sadly, we came here for a quick bite before going to the movies. Not sure if they were ,issuing wait staff or cooking staff, but by the time we were able to order we were told we could one of three things that could be done in time. And they do not have any alcohol, which might have softened the blow.
We went to this restaurant because it is across from the movie theater and we love greek food. Our order was taken quickly; we order a greek salad and 2 chicken souvlakis. The salad took a long time to be served. It was a good salad but nothing special, especially for a greek restaurant. I get better greek salads in a diner. The souvlakis were also ok. The chicken didn't taste like a greek restaurant's chicken. It was seasoned but again nothing special. Not sure we would go there again.
When we ate at the Grill in Waltham at 7:30 on a Tuesday evening in the Summer I was surprised that we were the only diners. We sat by the open windows with a lovely view and fresh air, but I could not shake the fact that the restaurant was empty. The service is adequate and the menu is tasty, but clearly not chef created. Overall, the Grill is ok, but I will likely not return.
Great to have yummy Middle Eastern food... very hard to find in 'burbs.
The best rice since the old Red Fez... it's about that red sauce!
Nothing fancy here, just home cooked solid good food.
Can hardly wait to go back .
All they need is icy cold retsina!
we had dinner before the movies and the food was good but no gluten free choices at all and when I asked for cut up veggies to dip in the hummus (one of their appetizers), they said they did not have any vegetables that weren't already pre made into the salads. It would also be great if they had a liquor license.
I love the Grill. They are very nice and eager to please. That said, we were one of only two tables occupied. It took an extraordinarily long time to get our food and at first it was delivered to the other table. Additionally my companion's meal was not prepared as requested and then had to be sent back.
The food is delicious and the folks are really nice. I want them to succeed and will try again.
It was a warm night and the restaurant was not air-conditioned. The front wall was opened but there was no breeze. They said that they had no record of my reservation.
This restaurant offers movie tickets to the Embassy Landmark for $8 each. They add the cost of the tickets to the food bill which can result in tipping on the cost of the movie.
This is an unassuming little place, with a very friendly staff who welcomed us upon arrival. It is open and airy and there is one large window that opens out to the street and adds to this feeling.
The food (Mediterranean) is quite good. I am a vegan and ordered the veggie skewers and rice. It was delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.
I know this place is just re-opening as The Grill. The server and the management at The Grill are very nice and gracious, and I have little doubt that they will do fine, however it seemed that they have a few kinks to work out. My turkey tips were undercooked in the middle, and I got the wrong salad dressing on my salad. As I understand it, they are waiting for their beer/wine license.
All that said, I would go there again. I hope they can establish themselves - we need a great mediterranean place in the neighborhood.
