The Grill - The Ritz-Carlton, Naples Ratings and Reviews
I don't get to dine here as often as I would like as the menu is fairly pricey. But when I do come here the service, food, ambiance and everything is just perfect! From the time you get there meeting the hostess to the time you pay the bill - the experience is just that - an experience!
Nice decor and quiet enough that you can carry on a conversation with your dinner companions in normal voices. My friend and I were pleased with our dinners (the veal chop and the rack of lamb). However, our wives shared a Delmonico 16oz steak that was served almost raw (ordered as med rare)and the 1/2 that my wife received was almost all fat. As well the sides didn't come out with our main dishes so we sat and waited for them. We did complain about the steak to our server and he took it off the bill. In addition, they comped our shared dessert. The experience over all was okay, not great.
It's a steakhouse inside the Ritz, I knew it would be expensive, the service was excellent, the atmosphere was just ok, the wine list was extensive, but wines by the glass were overpriced. We both had steak naturally, her filet was very good she said, my delmonico was just ok, I asked for medium rare, should have said rare. Everything is ala carte, which happens a lot in steak houses, don't want to whine, but there are better steak houses in the surrounding area that are more reasonable, so really no reason to go back unless you want to hob nob at the Ritz!
Everything from beginning to end was top notch!! Amazing cocktail & wine menu, the service was impeccable ( thank you Mary) and we’ve been in Naples for 8 years and don’t think we’ve had as good a meal as this one.
Thank you for ending my vacation with a blast of the best
As always a wonderful meal with outstanding service. Been dining here for the last 20 years but it gets noisier each time which detracts from the overall enjoyment. It gets more and more difficult to carry on a conversation as the evening progresses. In all fairness, however, it is Christmas, Holiday and New Years week and the chaos level is sometimes overwhelming so you have to expect a different experience. One of the things to note, especially, is the care they take with gluten free guests. In my family’s case, it is not a food preference but a medical necessity. We never have to think twice or wonder if they’ll make a mistake. Once you make your needs known, impeccable care is taken. More and more restaurants take allergies very seriously but this Ritz has been on the forefront for years.
I am a regular at The Grill and usually the food and service is outstanding. On this visit, one of my guests found her fish to be dry and over cooked. The salads were woefully underdressed and lacked flavor. Those who ordered the ribeye found the meat tough and not cooked to their liking. Overall a disappointing visit and not up to the standards of the Ritz. Expect more from a $700 dinner.
Took my grandma here for her birthday, it was 80 so it was a BIG deal. Had picked up cupcakes from Grace and Shelly’s (across the street). My grandma is picky 😱 The lady at the door acted like I had committed a crime. “Oh, they didn’t tell you??” I’m sorry?? You are not suppose to do this....ummmm I made it on open table, I didn’t speak to anyone. By the way, we frequent this place, so I was surprised! Not the way I expected to begin the night. I have to say once inside our waiter and food made up for it!! The food was amazing, the service even better! Only request would be some kind of chicken dish at times, have a few picky eaters! Other than that the food, music and service was great!! Hope the lady at the front gains some grace and little manners, no reason to be disrespectful and treat you like you did something wrong when you had no idea!
We were celebrating our anniversary and the staff made us feel special. James is one of the best servers I have ever had the pleasure of waiting on us . He has great support staff. He was interested in one thing US! Food for great we even sent a side dish back it was replaced in minutes. This is an expensive dinner but worth every dime.
We started with the Escargots and found the combination of clams and snails very peculiar, in a way they did not belong together. The tuna and octopus salad was better, but not terrific. The traditional caesar salad was not traditional as it had no dressing on it (someone missed this), just lettuce and a lot of ground pepper. The wedge salad was iceburg lettuce with many red onion curls and no blue cheese. The finishing chef must have been away from the station. The Delmonico steak was delicious, as was the Colorado lamb. The service was excellent. The meal was overpriced. We won't be back.
Foie gras was terrific, rib steak wonderful, and perfectly prepared. Mushrooms; mostly portobellos, lacking taste due to limited diversity. Service was adequate but not informed about wine list. Wine by glass outrageous. $ 45.00 for Peter Michel chard...made me question
the restaurants management. 5x mark up on wine is just over the top! Wine list is well constructed but built for the uninformed. Piano player was a nice touch. High back chairs were designed for Want-to-be folks...not really Disney!
