The Waygu was fake. The texture tough and HATED the whole process of bringing out a slab of meat so the butcher can carve your customer slice- asked for 10+ ounces and actually was cut 9. In the end was happy the slice was smaller as it was expensive and NOT Waygu Beef. Not soft, not flavorful and very disappointing. The waitress was ADHD and peppered us with way too much minutia with no real method to her menu overview. The sides were just so so.
My steak was tough and difficult to cut given the dull steak knife , I ordered the surf and turf , the lobster tail was more of the size of a shrimp scampi.
I found the some of the staff to be standoffish , somewhat pretentious .
We were told that we should order appetizers as there was a line up in the kitchen and that 20 people were ahead of us waiting to be served. I have never experienced this in a restaurant before or to be told that.
We only wanted mains and did not order appetizers ... we did not end up having to wait long at all for our meals in hind site.
They definitely serve better steaks and prime rib at the keg.
The restaurant itself was beautiful inside.
Lots of $$ for the quality of food and service.

The Grill Room is not inexpensive and although the food was good the service was just adequate. Management either underestimated how busy they were going to be on the Saturday of Easter Weekend or the staffing issues in Whistler are now affecting The Chateau Whistler.

Amazing experience! We had beef tartare made at the table, crab cake and few sauteed scallops to start and we took all their specialities to share between the 5 of us, wagyu ribeye, pembertons meadows dry aged ribeye (chef brings the meat at the table and ask you the size that you want) and my favorite wagyu striploin. We treated our self by adding few lobster tail to the main course. Everything was perfectly cooked and very tasty. Adam took care of us with amazing local wine. Unfortunately, we didn't have space for dessert.

They have a very unique and varied menu.
But they also have the usual favorites.
You can throw a dart at the menu, order what you hit, and not be disappointed. The beef, poultry, seafood, and game on the menu are excellent. Many of the ingredients are locally sourced.
You can’t miss with this restaurant.
The best dinner we had in Whistler/Blackcomb. Delicious steaks, done to perfection. But everything else was good too.
Everything was delicious however the signature steak was disappointing because it was too tough. The staff graciously made good and were commended on how it was handled
I took my daughter and her family to the Grill Room, and could not have had a better experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful and delightful with my 6-year old grandson. The steaks were unbelievably excellent! A lovely atmosphere with a roaring fire.....
Everything was absolutely superb. For anyone wanting a special and complete dining experience The Grill Room is highly recommended. Outstanding in every way.
Paul was a great waiter, the steak was great, the duck and lobster were good but didn't blow me away. The ambiance is nice and the hotel is beautiful. Overall a very good dining experience, but certainly not cheap!
The servers are attentive, receptive, and detailed. Our server Paul was extraordinary and warm-hearted. We enjoy their service and atmosphere.

The Grill Room was good but not to the level of the Rimrock or the Aroxi.
It was all outstanding - when they found out it was for a special occasion, they went above and beyond. The food, the people and the atmosphere was all worth the price point. Definitely recommend and will go back - it was an experience of the best kind.

THE Food was good but our server Phil made the evening very unpleasant.
When we arrived, unfortunately our table was not available quite yet. We went to the Mallard Lounge for pre-dinner drinks. When our table was ready, we were greeted and seated before further being welcomed by a lovely, talkative, well knowledgable lady whom definitely knows how to sell each course, side dish & wine accompaniment. The flavours of our beef fillets were amazing, especially with the jus which accompanied them. The presentation was perfect. The wine was smooth and our desserts were exquisite.
Food was excellent. Side dishes were a little less than impressive.

The steaks here were very good other than the New York my wife ordered which was tough. The bone in rib steak was the standout.
The service was over the top bad. I've honestly never had worse service. Too bad because the steaks are very good.
