Very disappointed. My husband ordered crab cake, the plate was hot the crab cake was cold. We ordered soup, it came without spoons. My salad which was my main course was very small. We asked for bread, it came after my salad was half gone. The only thing he enjoyed was his steak. We had Nicole as our waitress, she needs some training. We frequent this restaurant almost weekly, we never know what we are going to get!!

Despite three attempts, they could not cook a medium rare steak. The restaurant staff and manager were apathetic. No real value in going to this restaurant.

We absolutely loved the food and the atmosphere. Went here for the first time for my husband's birthday and felt the service from the hostess to the bartender to the server was excellent. We will definitely go back for dinner and I would even use this as a great Happy Hour place for me and my girlfriends!

I went to the restaurant to host colleagues whom were in town for a business appointment; there were 3 of us and we were all dressed in business suits. Unfortunately, our waitress waited on us as if were a ladies-who-lunch group; another table whom were seated after us were waited on first and received their meal before us. Good food; not outstanding - we had: fish sandwich, salad with crab cake, cobb salad. The noise level was minimal as we were able to easily manage discussion during lunch.

Overall, the food, particularly steak, was good, but nothing exceptional for a high priced steakhouse. The dining room was so dark, we needed our flashlight app to read the menu.
There are plenty of other expensive steaks
houses to consider.

This restaurant has really fallen to the level of no reason to go back.
Once one of the Conejo Valley's finest, they now routinely mess up orders, serve food cold and just don't seem to care like they used to.
Sad.

Everything was very good, we’re both enticed with the John Dory, delicious. One of the disappointments is the corkage charge. Some local restaurants are only charging $2-$5 for corkage. This is very important, as there are so many nice bottles of wine in the $20-$25 range, and when you add the corkage fee it makes it unappreciative.

This is just a suggestion, maybe a reduced rate for Points members only?? An idea that could increase your dining frequency, I know it would be a motivation for Lynn & I if the corkage was in the above range.

The food prices are at the top end, but acceptable as the food is very good, however for many of us that are retired it’s a great incentive to dine at one of the local restaurants with the low corkage fee, and also where the food is very good as well.

Respectfully,
Gary & Lynn Albertson

A once very good restaurant has gone through an unnecessary and unwelcomed update. The menu is significantly smaller, so much so I'm not sure the Grill name belongs anymore. What's left is an unfocused hodgepodge: sushi, steaks, a Caesar salad, a burger, a scallop and short rib appetizer that is generic and dull. Go to the Grill on the Alley in Beverly Hills and mourn what was lost here.

The food was tasteless and overpriced. (And there was no salt or pepper on the table to try and help)
The "special" salad of the night was missing two of the five ingredients listed.
The server put the main course plates down without clearing the appetizer plates.

My niece and I met for brunch. The service was good, although we asked to dim the lights that were glaring in our eyes. That was done promptly. The food was good but my niece's food was late--she ordered the beef medallions and the chef cooked them well when she had ordered them medium rare. Our server caught this and had them prepare them again correctly. Then we enjoyed our meals.

Service was OK, waiter had too many tables to tend. Petite filet meat quality was sub, to what I've had before, or at other restaurants. Waiters assistant was very good at keeping water replenished & clearing finished plates from table. Wife had John Dory, that was good as always.

First of all, I have been a fan of their Daily Grill for many many years.
The Grill on the Alley, be it Westlake Village or Beverly Hills, has ridiculously high prices. A piece of John Dory with veggies is $41.00.
Does that make sense? NO!!!! Just a piece of average fish smothered in butter sauce!!!
Service was uneven, food was slow to appear and not that good.
Back to the Daily Grill. At least the price is right.

Great server, food temp way off! Halibut warm and dry, ribeye way undercooked (sent back) asparagus too much smoke flavor. The prices imply food prepared and presented excellently. Been there many times but Not this time. Unlikely we will choose again.

The experience was unfortunate, overpriced for what you get. For a Tuesday night, not too crowded we were seated right by the kitchen. I ordered a ceasar salad which was either served on iceberg lettuce or anemic romaine, I couldn't tell. With my meal came plain mashed potatoes, by plain I not only mean with nothing on them, but also the most bland taste I have ever eaten. My tenderloin medallions were cooked well beyond the medium I ordered. Quite disappointing. The best part was the coffee and dessert.

I am back after five years away to San Francisco and Boston where I was pampered with food quality, and to my surprise, I found the Grill to be still holding very well to the competition. The atmosphere is still very enjoyable, the service quiet good even if the young staff has not yet grasp the different level of langages appropriate in this set up ( don't say "sure dude" to your customer, I am not your teenage pale, I am your fifty plus customer). The food is still prepared by what looked to me the same excellent kitchen staff, the only change is the wine list that needs someone competent to help with ( not only the geographic location - No, Amarone is not from Tuscany) but the choice is now inappropriate for this level of this restaurant. The mac & cheese recipe has change, no more bacon bits and spices, it is a rather a sad approach. Cocktails are still available but the staff seems quiet unexperienced - Manhattan is with Rye not Bourbon, Old Fashion is with Bourbon, not Rye. Anyway, I am being picky, this place is still a very agreeable set for your every day dinner.

Very disappointing. For a $200 meal for two. I had higher expectations than they delivered.

First my drink had a hint of another drink that was mixed in the shaker before mine. There was no garnish.

My soup was only ok, no garnish.

My main meal was barely average. The 'crispy' onions were soggy. The mashed potatoes were plain. The braised short ribs tasted like leftovers.

I ordered the seasonal roasted vegetables. They had been blanched but not finished. What were they thinking?

There were not many customers at all. I know why now. I will not return.

This was one of my favorite restaurants and my dad and wife took me there for my birthday. The service was not as good as in the past and the halibut ordered by my wife was awfully overcooked. Cocktails took an exceptionally long time to receive and my martini had warmed up and was watery.

Maybe it was an off night, as Sundays sometimes are, but this was the first time at either the GOA in Westlake or Beverly Hills that it was not first-rate all the way through.

I won't give up on this place since it has been so good and so consistent in the past, but I hope the management takes these comments seriously. It would be too bad to lose a good restaurant.
