Always excellent. The Grill on the Alley is a great go to establishment.
We live in Seattle and had been to The Grill on the Alley on a previous, pre-Covid trip to Westlake Village. Everything was as we remember it; outstanding staff, superb cocktails, wonderfully flavorful entrees and nice patio ambience. However, my grilled chicken was unfortunately rubbery and tough although the seasoning and taste was excellent. I attribute this to the cut of meat rather than the preparation, and our server graciously took it off our bill when I casually mentioned it. Despite this hiccup, The Grill on the Alley is definitely a favorite restaurant of ours in Westlake Village.
Our favorite restaurant
Our server Mikey was great. John Doory and Scallops were terrific. And the restaurant is very diligent with the COVID protocols.
Have dined here many times in the past. We went back for my son’s graduation and dined inside for the first time after COVID. This restaurant has great food and service, as usual. Again, COVID has left its marks and has taken away the luxuries we were accustomed to before COVID. The inside decor was uninviting, with only a few tables, the menu was a piece of paper that included both food and wine list, instead of the old nice leather bound booklets, and a separate one for the wine list, and there was no candles or lights of any kind on the table. Unfortunately, we have lost all those subtle effects that added to a nice dining experience. I am truly hoping for the old ways of things to come back and we gain back the qualities and luxuries of life. All that pertains to all restaurants these days, so it is not a specific problem with this restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
Best Happy hour !!!
Food is excellent. Service was a bit snooty and generally poor to average.
Could not taste the Ahi because of the heavy handed spices. Coffee was lukewarm. Cost was extremely high for what we received.
Classy and good food. Great service and selections
Great food and great service
Very overpriced and middling quality at best. Serving a big chunk of broccoli as part of the entree Is ridiculous. I do it 10x better at home. Not recommended.
A new favorite spot! From the atmosphere, taste, and service-The Grill no the Alley is an 11/10!
Never disappointed... The hospitality, wait staff and food are consistently amazing!!! Wish all our dining experiences could be like this.
Terrible, overpriced…2nd visit. 1st time, my ribeye was completely rare/bloody when I ordered medium. We decided to give them another try in good faith. This time it was so flavorless, overcooked and so dry I could barely choke it down. 2 bites and we paid and left. We keep trying to eat out locally to support businesses. We gave it a fair shot. Never again.
We were greeted with, "Put your mask on or we can't serve you." Despite the CDC dropping mask mandates nationwide earlier in the week. And with no regard to our county being in the lowest state restriction level and our city literally having next to no covid issues for quite a long time now. Yet, this restaurant want's to continue this ridiculous practice of wearing a mask to walk 10 feet across the room to our table. Where miraculously when we can sit to eat, drink and converse for the next hour without a mask, without Covid harm risk to anyone. Aside from that, their online menu reflects that they are serving the full menu. And when we asked where the item we came in to eat was, the server said this is the "Covid Light Menu", which is still in place. Colossal waste of time, money and space.
This is amazing place to eat , food as exceptional and the service too.
The food was so good we had to order two appetizers. The crab cakes and corn fritters are sinful! Our waitress, Julia, was incredibly sweet and helpful; we had to pull the manager aside to give our compliments. Best scallops and pot pie we’ve ever tasted!
It was my husband’s birthday and they made sure to give him a lovely sorbet with berries and a sparkler. The server was very attentive and the steaks were cooked perfectly. The side of mushrooms were ok. I was expecting more flavor and it was bland. The burrata salad was also a bit bland. Other than that, everything was great.
Great bday dinner spot- waiting staff is excellent
We had a nice dinner out on the patio. Great food and service.
Love love love this restaurant! Been there twice and i am ready to go back again .. food and service is spot on !
Great spot for lunch or dinner! Outstanding patio setting during covid stuff. Food, service, ambience very good!
Because of COVID we sat on the patio. The only thing I did not like about it was that one side of the patio had tent walls and I thought there was not good air circulation to prevent COVID spread. Other than that , the dinner was great.
We were freezing and they refused to move our table to a warmer section. The service was horrible. Our waitress told us the tables were reserved for other people with reservations when we also made reservations , They definitely did not treat us equally. The food was absolutely tasteless. I would never go back.
I have always preferred their outdoor patio and it was excellent as usual. Great food, drinks and service. Their food and drinks have always been exceptional! Glad they're back open and looking forward to going back.
We had a cozy corner to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday.
The service was outstanding and the food was delicious.
We will definitely come back more often.
Food and service were excellent. Great happy hours menu as well.
Excellent...great food, wine and service !
Good service! I will definitely would return
Service and food were excellent. It was a bit chilly that night. They might need a few more heaters.
The Grill on the Alley is our favorite place to dine in our area. They never disappoint.
A bit pricey but good food and excellent service makes for an experience that satisfies completely.
Tait was amazing
This has always been one of our "go to" places in the area. Still is. It's nice to have the option these days of indoor seating, and the booths are quite comfortable. The food is always exceptional, and the service also.
Our server Michelle was outstanding! Although we love your food, we'd come back just to have her serve us!
That evening was my wife's birthday. Grill on the Alley enhanced this special occasion.
Service, food and atmosphere was excellent.
We were greeted happily. We had outstanding service throughout our dinner until we said goodbye.
The host and servers at the bar were excellent. Our server Amanda was magnificent. Looking forward to going back!
The food was DELICIOUS!
Dining at The Grill is always enjoyable though the food tends to be over-seasoned.
Excellent meal. Food was prepared exactly as we asked and it was hot! Patio was nice. Fun night out!
