The Grill on the Alley - Chicago Ratings and Reviews
We enjoyed the waitress. She was outstanding. The food was very good. We sat next to a table of three fellow workers. They were passionate and concerned about some fellow workers. That was a bit of a distraction... But they left about the time our food arrived. We were celebrating our 49th wedding anniversary and would have preferred a little more quiet, but we were in a restaurant! There was a lot of noise out in the bar area - people were having fun!
Went for Easter brunch with the family but the vibe did not feel like Easter. The bread was hard, seemed like it was left over from the day before and the grill broke so we could not have certain items on the menu. Our waitress made it a good experience but I would never eat here again. Really disappointing.
OMG. With so many awesome restaurants in Chicago, please don't waste your money or time going here. I am always hesitant about restaurants associated with hotels but gave this a try and it did not live up to my expectations. We had reservations but arrived 25 minutes early because we were worried about traffic into the city. Even though only 5 tables were filled when we arrived, we were made to wait for 15 minutes before we were seated.
Limited choices, not willing to make substitutions telling me it would ruin the taste of the dish. Price fixe menu gives you a salad course, a meat with No Potatoes or Vegetables and a dessert. While the wine list was extensive, prices were outrageous. If you want a steak go to Chicago Cut or Smith and Wolenski
