The Grill on the Alley - Beverly Hills Ratings and Reviews
Service here used to be par excellence. Waiter was inattentive, kept forgetting things (like opening the wine bottle), never checked on us/asked if everything was alright, had to ask for bread three times, etc. Very poor.
Food used to be excellent also. This time, cream spinach came cold (never could get waiter's attention to send it back). Sea bass special--for $48--had no taste except for the topping which was only moderately good. Business partners did not get meat the way they asked. Will not bother going back.
We met our friends of many years. We go so we can talk with each other and be heard. PLUS--the food is top tier. None of us has had a bad dinner in 20 years!! So now you know our ages! The Grill is a wonderful place whenever you wish to go for lunch or dinner.
We were out celebrating so we ordered the surf and turf, what a mistake! Everything was covered in old bay seasoning. Additionally, I asked if they were using Maine lobster and the server said absolutely, so you can imagine how disappointed I was when they brought out a warm water lobster. At a place like this I would have expected the server to notice before it was brought to the table. I had to inform the server and the assistant waiter that they brought the wrong thing and the waiter barely apologized for the mix up. We were given one drink for the ordeal, obviously a way to keep the Maitre'd from knowing about the lobster mix up. The server claimed it was a change the kitchen had made a few days earlier and they hadn't been informed, which was very obviously just a cover up. We will not return. For this price point there are plenty of better options in the area.
Class All the Way!
As you walk into the front door of this unique facility, you immediately sense the ambiance and coziness of the dinng room and know that you’re in for something special...
Our waiter was exceptional in his service to our group blending in his professionalism and personality too.
The food was nothing less than superb!
Did I say this restaurant oozes Class...?
Hostess Pamela was very helpful when my colleagues and I were late on our reservation. You know how it is with traffic and parking when there are 3-4 meetings all over L.A....also there's free 2 hour parking one block away...and that block is Rodeo Drive so it's a nice surprise. Food is yummy, service quick and attentive.
We are not from the area. We were in town celebrating our anniversary and wanted an upscale dinner experience. We read the reviews for this place and thought it would be perfect. We were greeted with rudeness from the host because we were 15 minutes late for our reservation. We left when our Gps said to. He said we could have called. I felt like I was being scolded. The mood for our special dinner was ruined. The wait staff did a good job and they were awesome. The food was ok. Not the best or worst. I will never go back to this place again.
The food is good is good but expensive. The room is attractive, but when busy, the noise level is deafening. It is unfortunate- it makes it impossible to have a conversation. The booths on the sides are probably a little quieter than sitting in the middle of the room.
We love the grill food and service.
It was a double birthday celebration & we requested a booth but didn't get one! They brought two desserts however for our birthdays which was very nice and delicious.
The food is consistently delicious and it's a fun place to go for evening drinks.
Pretty fancy which was expected since its right off of Rodeo Drive but not stuffy at all. Food was excellent and our waitress, Jane, was awesome. She was extremely personable and knew the menu very well. Everyone was very happy with meals (mostly steak and lamb choices) and the sides were delicious.
Food and service were very good. I had the Lake Superior whitefish pan fried with the lemon butter sauce. It was delicious. The rest of the group ordered the Sunday prime rib dinners and said they were very good including the Yorkshire pudding. The drawback for us was the noise level. This is not really the restaurant to sit and visit. Very noisy. Also on the pricey side. Nice restaurant if you come on a less busy night.
