To qualify, we have been going to the Grill for 20 years. Always loved this place. However, tonight was inexcusable. We sat down and were rushed to order. Five minutes after ordering and even before they opened the very nice bottle of wine we brought ($ 25 corkage is fair) our first course arrived. Five minutes after we finished our salads, the entree arrived. Wow, what is the hurry ? We finished our entree with half a bottle of wine sitting there. We enjoyed our conversation, relaxing, and enjoying the wine. However, all of a sudden the manager stands at our table and says our 90 minutes are up and we need to leave. What ?
Where does it say we have 90 minutes? Our wine glasses are still full but we have to chug it and go? My date and I look at each other . WTF? Maybe we will come back in six months to see if they are back to normal. Maybe we won't. For $200 for two people lots of other options. I would suggest not bringing or buying a bottle of wine. Parties of four or more, good luck with "beat the clock"
Phenomenal. Nothing more I can say. I hope to eventually make the “regular” list as I plan to come back often.
The Grill on the Alley is a very special restaurant. The old world ambience is lovely and the food and service are superb. Hector is the best!
The food and servers were excellent!
Loved the John Dory.
What a way to break COVID. Gracious hosts, great, pro wait staff and all the classics. Save room (if that's even possible) for key lime pie.
Great overall experience with many Menu options.
Service is professional and attentive.
Brick Chicken, Shrimp Cocktail & Steaks are the best.
The best thing about our dinner was that it was as if nothing had changed. The food and service were great, and the bartender is the only one who always gets my wife and my drink right every time. Welcome back!!!!
Because of COVID-19 hadn’t been to The grill in the alley since March of last year. I will say it was good to be back! The best steaks! The best service!
We were celebrating our daughter's 18th birthday, and it was our first time eating inside a restaurant in 18 months. The food was excellent a always, but our daughter wa disappointed that they no longer have their chocolate cake as a dessert.
This is a classic—we are in LA frequently and have made it a point to have at least one dinner here on each trip, for many years. They never disappoint.
Whether just for a dinner out in a "grill-like" old feel good like restaurant or a special occasion, this is a great place. We celebrated an anniversary.....nothing special provided, but just a nice evening out.
michael's greeting was welcoming and our server was so comfortable and made dinner even better
always great I love going there and enjoying all they have to offer
Very classy joint with top notch professional servers
Love this restaurant. I go often for both lunch and dinner.
Always the best
Loved our food and service. Ruben is so warm and welcoming. He was the best waiter and so attentive.
Love to see Restaurants like The Grill are still standing and delivering an outstanding service and food. Can’t wait to go back.
While the food is a bit pricey, it's well worth it. There are professional wait staff, not people working until they get a role in a movie.... Service is impeccable and attentive.
I have enjoyed meals at this Grill on The Alley for years, and keep returning because the service, , food, atmosphere, and overall quality of the experience are consistently exceptional.
Wasn’t really a fan. Didn’t get treated well. Got left by the door where there is no space between diners and people at the bar.
It was Mother’s Day. My day was made. The service, the food, the staff was EXCEPTIONAL. The GM and host was super sweet. I’m now a loyal patron.
A longtime favorite, back and better than ever
Chris was a great writer, he made our evening.
So happy that they’ve reopened!
So happy to be back in the old school ambience of The Grill on the Alley!
one of the last old Beverly Hills classics. While we have lost Chasen's and others, The Grill on the Alley is like going home; to a good home. The service is classy, classic and excellent. The martinis first rate. the Fare is familiar and comforting and excellent.
I love this place! The best fish in town! Such a nice, classy, and cozy place.
Everything was fantastic, looking forward to coming back.
Love this restaurant and staff...always a great experience
Food was great! Environment: perfect! Service : excellent!
Very nice place to have a peaceful delicious dinner...
Returned to the Grill after probably 10 years of going for the first time!
AS good now as it was then! Its a great place! Good Food, great cocktails and wine, and you forget you are in L.A.
Definitely recommended to go with adults
Caesar salad was excellent as was the Sole..
Lovely evening for our friends birthday
Good hidden gem after a day of shopping on rodeo.. no crowd which means no wait
We are so excited the Grill on the Alley has finally reopened. My wife’s steak was over cooked and fatty this time, but we didn’t really care. Though she didn’t eat it nor did I, the servers and staff were all excellent.
Hoping next time steak tartare
A very present atmosphere with quality food. One of the old established restaurant with knowledgeable waiters where you can enjoy a meal & are able to talk and hear.
Although it is not that old, it is "Old School". A fine example of what can be achieved with premium food, exceptional ambiance and impeccable Staff. I have been coming since it opened, and now that it has Re-Opened I will be back as often as I am able. Do not delay, make a reservation and get there as quickly as you can and stay as long as you can.
perfect as always, Can't goo wrong with their Cobb salad and a gin and tonic
One of our favorites. Love the staff and chicken pot pies are always the best
