Our waitress was LOVELY. Knew the entire menu, offered suggestions but didn’t push. This place is CLASS THE WHOLE WAY. Loved it.

The service (we had Catherine as our server) was beyond excellent. The west coast oysters were as large as any I had ever seen. The Caesar salad was traditional (although it had no anchovies) and plenty to share. The wine list is not cheap, but was appropriately priced. The filet mignon was slightly over done (be sure to tell your server to remind the kitchen what “medium rare” means) but not so overly done as to interrupt the ambiance of the evening by sending it back. The onion rings were awesome and more than enough to share. We are from Florida, so easy-to-get 5:30 reservations were perfect for us.

The steak was well prepared and delicious. Our server was very gracious and personable. A little hiccup at the beginning, though, despite a reservation. We seemed to have been forgotten about, as no one came to our table for 10-15 min after we were seated. Believe there was a shift change or? Otherwise, liked the environment-very homey- and would go back again.

This iconic Beverly Hills restaurant offers the finest food, professional and friendly waitstaff, the best maitre d' in town and a glamorous but classy ambiance that draws a sophisticated crowd. Dishes are always cooked to perfection. The Dover Sole, Wedge Salad, Steaks, and Creamed Spinach are fabulous. The Hot Fudge Sundae is the perfect finale to a fabulous meal. Treat yourself here!

This was the first time my partner and I had been back to grill on the alley in about a year. What an absolute treat. Perfect in every respect … outstanding martini, beautiful appetizers …perfect entrées. Best of all, the service from Adam was 5 star… as perfect as one could hope for. Relaxed fine dining at its best. Bravo!
Gorgio and his team are amazing. I take clients to this gem at least once a week. The ambience, staff and food never disappoint. I highly recommend you try it!

The seafood was over cooked and bland. I ordered the shrimp pomodoro, where the shrimp was overdone. My dining companion ordered the lobster tails, and they were tasteless and overcooked. Manager made aware of situation and another meal was ordered in its place. I will return despite this because it has great ambience and the staff are kind and attentive. I just can’t rate the food that well.
Pamela the Hostess and Stephen our waiter made the experience memorable. Second time we have been with them and Stephens suggestions and help along with his ability to read our minds made the day! The sauteed soft shell crab was excellent, the chopped wedge with their inhouse made bleu cheese dressing was excellent. My wife's chicken pot pie was very good too.

Where do I begin....over 1200 reviews gave this place a 4.8 on Open Table. Based on those recommendations, I made two reservations - one for tonight and one for my last night in LA. I am so confused as to how 1200 people could rate this place so highly. Service was friendly, but once seated at a table in a VERY crowded COVID super spreader event, we were told (not asked) to move to a booth as they had a "large group of people" - size wise and they would not fit in a booth. I normally wouldn't care if the food was amazing, but I'll get to that later. We were initially happy with the move to a booth that had dividers. It went downhill from there. My husband and I both got Old Fashioneds which was on their cocktail menu and it was honestly undrinkable. Next, we moved on to our appetizers. I had a wedge salad that reminded me of my grandmother's iceberg and tomato salad circa 1977 (that is not a complement). My husband and daughter had what was supposed to be Ahi tuna tartar and looked less than fresh and was not worth the cost. We moved on to the main dishes. My husband's salmon looked like it needed a 1/2 hour less in the pan - it was dry and the mushrooms looked like they were canned. My son and daughter each had the filet - my son admittedly orders his medium well, which is a sin. My daughter's medium rare version was inedible. I had what looked like diner quality short ribs with what I can only describe as Heinz brown gravy that should have been tender, but was unable to be cut with a knife. My baked potato came without butter and sour cream and was uncooked in the middle. Our waiter was very nice, but honestly, the food was so gross that it overshadowed his service. My husband is laughing at this review because he says I should just say it sucked and leave it at that, but this is giving me great satisfaction.

Meals are such a pleasure at Grill on the Alley. The confort of intimacy, the quality of the drinks, the attentiveness of service, the variety of scrumptious dishes, even the different levels of lighting make the Grill a memorable experience. Gina was a fantastic host and we thoroughly recommend the rib eye, the Dover sole, the grilled asparagus and the crab cakes. No steak tartare or oysters in the menu this time. Maybe next? We’ll be back!

This is a great hang out place in Beverly Hills popular with celebrities. Our server was excellent, nice, funny. Food was very good--I had the special Maryland softshell crab, and my guest the steak tartare (which is not on the menu but is available upon request (as is the tuna tartare)). Prices are high so not a great "value" but it's a great scene with good food. Perfect for a languid liquid lunch.
