perfect as always, Can't goo wrong with their Cobb salad and a gin and tonic
One of our favorites. Love the staff and chicken pot pies are always the best
The food was fine. The service terrific. Very few patrons. Understandable b/c it’s more of an older crowd hangout.
If you order a bottle of wine whatever you do, don’t order the Rombauer chard. $120 bottle and $30 a glass....absurd
Most of the wines are overpriced but this one is indefensible.
Restaurants have to understand that they have to luer people back. Exercising reasonable pricing (3X wholesale)
Would be a good starter. Or 1/2 price wine on Monday - Thursday for the next 180 days also works.
Our first time out during pandemic. Felt very safe. It was quiet, social distancing was in place. Waiter/staff respectful and the food was excellent!
Everyone was very careful and took all precautions due to the pandemic. Glad to be back!
Great place for some traditional American fare food. Their pot pie was so delicious and the crab cakes is a must!
This was the last day of freedom lunch date before the Co-Vid lockdown! After a morning of shopping at Saks we made a last minute lunch reservation at The Grill on the alley and we were so happy we did. Everything was delicious per usual. Service was impeccable and such a chill mood for a quick bite! I cannot wait until Dine-In resumes! See you soon!
Service was excellent and our dinner was very good.
Good was okay, steak did not have much flavor
Food & service was great, it was basically a ghost town (thanks coronavirus) but the staff were great.
Crab cakes are outstanding, they have the best sourdough bread.
Thought the lobster salad was a bit bland
Perfect evening. Grill on the Alley simply never disappoints. And always something makes it even better than 5 stars. This time it was the waitstaff.
Food was delicious. Staff is very attentive. It was a lovely evening.
Excellent food and perfect, cozy ambience for lunch or dinner. I always come here when I'm in town and they always remember me or act like they do. Friendly and welcoming. Busy restaurant, so reservations strongly recommended. Beef, chicken and fish selections are always first class.
From the moment I walked it was phenomenal. Valentine’s Day dinners can have tons of pressure and I picked the restaurant this year. I’m so happy that The Grill on the abbey was my choice it was a true dining experience. The staff was so poised and pleasant and ensured we were enjoying ourselves. The food was simply perfect for lack of a better word. The lobster bisque is a must and the cocktails are so delicious. The prices are surprisingly reasonable for what I would call a high class steakhouse. The ambiance was elegant yet hip and vibrant. I am for sure going back and telling everyone to go. I’m looking forward to trying their happy hour also. 5 stars!
Wonderful dinner and experience...service was exceptional!
Food and service were great! We brought in a birthday cake and they kindly cut it and put a candle on it!
When visiting LA it’s one of my go to places. Still love it after so many years
Fantastic from start to finish. The place is tucked away in a side street off of Rodeo Drive and you get the sense of entering a speakeasy! Very cool atmosphere. We added a person to our party late and it was a non issue for the staff who accommodated is quickly and politely. Wait staff was friendly and efficient. The food was incredible. My steak was perfect and three of us had the Jon Dory which was incredible. Sides were generous and delicious.
A shout out to the bartender who made a masterful martini.
It was a pretty large dinner tab but, hey, it’s a high end steak house in Beverly Hills.
Amazing meal and our server was engaging and fun
Everything was excellent, the food, the waiters, everyone!!
I was nervous that the new owners of my favorite restaurant would make changes to the decor, the menu, the staff--all of which I have loved for over 20 years. To my relief THE GRILL is exactly as it has always been-superb service, delicious identical menu and the same classic loving atmosphere. Congrats to the new owners for having the will to measure "progress" and profits by not changing anything!!!!!!!! By the way---"whats the specials list tonight?? ANSWER: THE GRILL ON THE ALLEY!!

All three fish entrees of Lake Superior whitefish, John Dory, and Dover Sole were excellent.
Over the many years we have walked through their door to enjoy a night out with old friends, the food and service have always been the same high quality. Consistency is always one of the keys to success in the restaurant business.
We had a great time!
Always top notch..... a little too noisy and pricey though.
It was a great dinner . We have been waiting to go out and celebrate my friend’s birthday and it was just perfect . Food is always great and we love the ambiance and service
Amazing service Adam is the best ! Food was beyond delicious !
Awesome and great experience
Our waiter was extremely unprofessional rude insulting. If you want Extremely bad service this is the place to go.
Always the best! Great food and it feels like a family gathering (in a good way) every time I go there. Which is all the time!
Great service. Delicious food. Chicken pot pie is so good. Tender chicken, light crust. Lobster salad had nice chunks. Waiter was attentive and charming.
Wonderful New Years Eve. The restaurant goes all out with Decor and New Year’s Eve favors, including hats for both men and women.horns and noise makers. The room is so beautiful this year with Matt gold balloons covering the ceiling. This is our 4th year celebrating with staff and friends . Will be returning next year, God willing. It is so special and food off the regular menu is an added plus, and as always delicious!’
Quaint little tavern in a quiet corner off Rodeo. This was our 2nd annual visit and we were equally as pleased as our first experience a year ago. The staff delivers impeccable service - the primary driver of my 5-star rating. The food is fresh and prepared in a traditional steakhouse style. The bone-in meat my son and husband enjoyed were perfectly prepared while my daughter and I opted for seafood. No one was disappointed!! The prices are not for the faint of heart - but you are in Beverly Hills! We truly enjoyed our experience and everyone went home feeling completely sated (and not wanting to eat again for days :-). Don’t miss this gem for a truly special evening out.
Wife’s birthday and Christmas get together.
We no longer live close to The Grill On the Alley in BH, and haven't dined their recently. However, in doing some last minute Christmas shopping we decided have dinner at this restaurant, as we had been pleased with our past experiences over many years. It did not disappoint, and actually exceeded our expectations. We initially made reservations on OpenTable, but preferred something slightly later. We were able to call The Grill and the hostess was extremely accommodating. She modified the timing of our reservation to make it much more convenient for us. We had a great table and our service was excellent. We started with a Cesar salad, and it was one of the better ones we've ever had. It was accompanied by the house sourdough bread, which was divine. We then shared the Lobster Bisque. It was also incredible. The John Dory was very well prepared with a very tasty sauce. Our sides were the creamed spinach and shoe string fries; both also excellent. Besides these fantastic dishes, what helped make them so special is that the temperature of everything was perfect. Very few restaurants actually serve "hot" items that are actually fairly hot, or cold items that are nicely chilled. Normally most meals are usually served just warm, and salads are at room temperature. However, The Grill whisked items immediately from the kitchen to our table. The salad was nicely chilled and all our other items were nicely hot, yet not too hot, and not just warm. Having dishes served at the right temperatures, and that don't cool off as quickly than if they were just served warm, makes an enormous difference. It helps extends the period of enjoying great food. We definitely will be coming back more frequently to The Grill.
Always great service and food. Celebrated our anniversary there. Have us Prosecco when they learned it was our anniversary.
Outstanding service and delicious food; sensibly curated wine list.
Great food, excellent service and above average staff. We will visit again
