The Grill at The Pittstown Inn
Took a chance & booked a reservation for 8 of us to celebrate my brother's birthday. The table was reserved, & we received attention & water right away. Had never been to the The Grill before & must say it was very enjoyable. The food was deliciously prepared & cooked to order. Two of us had the tuna special, delish. Two had the salmon & both said the salmon was very good. The flat breads are also very tasty plus they made a flatbread pizza just for my 2 nephews. My sister had chicken prepared just to her specific ingredients. The only two negatives are that the restaurant is extremely loud, have to shout to hear anything which was then compounded by the guitar player. Don't think the added noise of the music is needed. If anything, maybe some very light classical in the background, but nothing else. Then, there is the corkage fee, $15, quite annoying. If you allow wine to be brought in, then, please, just let us enjoy it w/o the added fee. Otherwise, we will definitely be back in September, would love to enjoy the patio outside. The restaurant is very pretty, the bathrooms were clean, & the wait staff were extremely attentive & nice. The chef/owner? came out to thank us for coming, too, which was extremely gracious. Just be careful when you cross the road in front of the restaurant, as the parking lot is across the street. Very dark at night & cars come zooming out of nowhere around the corner!
Food was good. Staff were very pleasant. We’ll be back!
Nice place to celebrate my parents 30th wedding anniversary
Nice quiet meal. Food was good although a bit pricey and portions were not large.
Dinner was lovely. The halibut special was made in a delicate light sauce served over broccoli rabe . Simply delicious🥦
This place never disappoints...absolutely awesome!
We dined outdoors and were a bit overwhelmed by the traffic. Really didn’t think that it would be so busy and loud
The food was good but we struggled to understand our waiter. He was very nice and did his job well we just couldn’t understand him reciting the specials with his very thick accent. Even after reciting the specials twice would could not fully understand. We did not want to insult him so we stuck to the regular menu.
Two family members and myself had dinner at the Pittstown Inn.
Appetizers consisted of salmon tacos, fried calamari, spring rolls, and a shared
flatbread. The entrees were surf and turf and a scallop special. All the food was delicious.
Our waiter, Joe, was outstanding. He was unobtrusive but knew when to approach the table to
address our needs. I highly recommend this restaurant.
I haven't been here in six years when, on a hot July day, the experience was quite ordinary. After hearing about some excellent improvements, a friend and I came to check it out for dinner. The food is very good; we both had the wild boar chops. I ordered them medium rare. One was rare and the other medium. That's all right, they were great cuts. The chicken mulligatawny soup was nicely done, as were the salads. It’s certainly worth a return visit.
Very good burgers, cold beer and good service. Value was good except the "special" arugula salad was way over priced. Because it was part of the waiter narrative, we didn't get a price. We certainly didn't expect an average sized (but tasty) salad to cost more than our burgers. It put a wet blanket on an otherwise pleasurable experience.
The food was great. Service a bit uneven. We sat outside and the traffic was a bit loud. All that said, we will definitely return.
We had a great time dining outside at the Grill the service was great and we really enjoyed our meal.
Food was delicious as always
Outstanding service with delicious food. Nice variety on menu.
Interesting building waiters friendly and attentive excellent mixed drinks pasta was very good my hanger steak was disappointing chewy with little flavor
Slightly noisy dining area due to small children on Mother’s Day. It was our first visit, maybe the table could have been space a little further apart, also it was Mother’s Day. Over great food at a fair price.
We had an amazing dining experience, from our waiter to the bus boys, everyone was attentive & fabulous. Our entire meal was absolutely delicious. We loved every single thing we tried, tuna tartare, humus, steak bites, tandoori shrimp for appies, dinner was surf & turf, wild boar, scallop special & rib eye steak followed by berry cobbler, mud pie, & apricot brûlée ..... we left with full, happy bellies & left overs. Portions were large and every bite was delicious
I pass by for many years and never stopped in. We went there for mother's day. A bit disappointed that they did not have a specials menu for the day, but at the end the food, service and overall experience were very good.
Easter Sunday dinner, fantastic food and service. Just a little pricey for the area.
We had a lovely Easter brunch (and also a birthday celebration) at The Pittstown Inn! A few years ago we came for dinner and the service was terrible so we were nervous to try it again. I am happy to say that the Service was great and the food was delicious!! I am happy we re-tried the Pittstown Inn because it is so close to our home and is such a beautiful restaurant.
Food was decent. Pretty neat old place with charm. Went to dine and listen to music but could not hear the music unless you were seated right beside it.
Food and service were excellent. If you’re looking for a quiet or special occasion, don’t go Friday night. You won’t be able to talk much, but the music and food were very nice. Will be going back for food and entertainment, just not for “date night” lol. Great place overall!
A fun place to eat; great music in the bar and prices are reasonable. Ask for Lynn as your waitress and you will be very happy with the service. A fireplace in the back dining room makes it romantic. Hanger steak is excellent and so is the chicken.
Good food. I had the salmon and it was delicious. The steak was ok. I enjoyed the food and drink however we couldn't hear the music because if the noise level.
Love going to The Pittstown Inn! Always great food and service. The atmosphere is very comfortable. A real hidden gem.
Great place. Well worth going to. Great tem and service.
Might be great one day.
The positives - A mostly modern menu in a charming setting. A respectable selection of draught and bottled beer, and an adequate wine list. Friendly and attentive service and expertly prepared grill items. Live music from the bar struck a festive and welcoming note.
There were some critical gaps.
We sat in a dining room that had at least 2 tables too many. The abundant staff and other diners were jostling around the tables all night, sometimes literally running into each other. If the room weren't so overcrowded, the beautiful fireplace might have been put to good use instead of staying dark and cold.
We were well looked-after, but overall the service was uneven. A large proportion of the staff were young and lacked experience, and although we weren't able to place our dinner order until 20 minutes after being seated, small adjustments and requests were handled promptly and with grace. We were provided with a basket of house-made focaccia which was good, but contained at least one stale slice from a prior go-round. One of our party asked for butter and we were treated to 4 ice-cold, foil-wrapped pats on a saucer - room for improvement here.
The menu is interesting apart from some relics of a bygone age (crab-stuffed shrimp, mint jelly with the lamb), and would probably benefit from being split into 2 - one for "tavern fare" and another section for full dinners.
I ordered "organic farmed wild boar", which seems like an oxymoron, and received two of the nicest grilled pork chops I can remember, but hardly worth the $36 price tag. I was surprised to see a small cup of ketchup on the plate, presumably for the (nicely done) sweet-potato fries that accompanied the chops. The sauce was uninspired - a bland starchy gravy.
Desserts were home made and fresh. Tea drinkers should curb their expectations.
There's a lot to like about the Pittstown Inn - with some attention to detail it could become well worth the price.
Great atmosphere. The Indian specials are amazing.
Great tasting food and friendly responsive service
We always have a great dinner with great service at the Pittstown Grill
Very good food. Very good service
But a bit on the noisy side if you are looking for a quiet intimate setting. Has a very open floor plan now after remote . Definitely get reservations for weekend nights if you don’t want to wait
The Grill at The Pittstown Inn was excellent! The service was great and the food was delicious!
We went to the Pittstown Inn to celebrate my daughter's last night in town before returning to college. We each ordered the surf and turf special which included a New York strip, broiled scallop and grilled shrimp. The steaks were all done perfectly to temperature and everything tasted terrific. We look forward to our next visit.
Very comfortable place with a great menu. Food is served hot and fresh. Greens with lamb are very tasty. Table service is excellent with polite staff. Highly recommended for a variety of occasions.
The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the music was delightful. This wasn't our first time there and we will continue to return.
My husband and I come here often for the delicious food and lovely atmosphere. The bar staff is attentive and super-friendly, as are the servers. You won't be disappointed!
New Year’s Eve dinner. Delightful, delicious and great time. Price fixe was generous and varying. Staff worked magic with the crowd. Expertly orchestrated evening. Music was awesome as well.
Always a great meal complemented by great service!
Relaxing. Great staff. Great food.
