Food was good, drinks are different and very good, service was very good. Would definitely recommend to others
Great service and dinner.
Very good food. A lot of empty tables on a Tuesday evening.
It was our second time dining here. It was wonderful. I can’t wait to go back.
Last time we were here, years ago, previous owner, the food was good but the service was terrible. I’m happy to report that now both are up to snuff!
We had a wonderful dining experience here on New Years Eve. We were a small group of 4, but enjoyed 3 courses each with drinks. Food was spectacular (Main Courses: Wild Boar Chops, Surf and Turf, Lemon Roasted Chicken, and the Pistachio crusted Salmon) and came out quickly / cooked to requested temps. The Restaurant itself is beautiful and rustic, but modern. There was live music which was a little loud, but it was NYE and time to celebrate, so we were not complaining. We will definitely be returning to the The Grill at The Pittstown Inn and Highly recommend it.
We went here on NYE, and we knew the menu ahead of time, so we were not surprised. There was a good variety of food available. I had the catch of the day, sea scallops, which was delicious. My husband had the boar, which he had never had, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. The portions are a good size. The specialty drinks seem to be martinis, which come in all flavors.
The servers are very attentive to refilling your water glass, and taking away your plates when you are done. Both times I have dined here, there has been someone playing the guitar, usually soft music. Looking forward to coming back here again for our next meal.
Average meal. Nothing special. Liked it much better with the old owners/chef. Didn’t care for any of the items we ordered and it was expensive.
IT'S A VERY COZY RESTAURANT, THE FOOD WAS GOOD, MY RAVIOLI WAS A BIT OVER COOKED BUT OVERALL EVERYTHING ELSE WAS DELICIOUS!
The food and staff was, as always, terrific. Great dining menu and great portions.
They were going to seat us at table 50. It’s right by the kitchen. There shouldn’t be a table 50. Another couple also asked not to be seated there.
Service was great. Staff are professional and courteous. Owner is always gracious.
The staff and food were exemplary.service is always pleasant.Jim, the bartender, is amazing.
Consistently very good. The service is friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Menu is excellent and the food and presentation are terrific. I travel worldwide regularly and eat in some of the best places in Paris, Zurich, Amsterdam etc. This is right up with the best of them.
This was our first and last time there. We were expecting a nice dinner, instead it felt like a TGIF.
Pretty, charming restaurant. My husband had a burger and thought it was good. I got the hanger steak, and while it was a nice cut, it desperately needed salt and pepper. I don't think the steak was seasoned at all. The vegetables were delicious. Burger was a reasonable price, but I do think overall that the entrees are overpriced. Most entrees are in the low $30's. Between drinks, apps and a meal, you're going to walk out of there with a decent bill. The vibe inside is more on the casual side, which I liked. But I can see how prices could turn some away, especially when unseasoned steak is being served.
The food was great appetizer through dessert. Everything was very fresh and delicious. But I will say the noise level made it very difficult to carry on a conversation.
I like the food. The menu change up looks good. Problem is you can’t understand the wait staff. The English is almost impossible to catch the details of the nightly specials. We tried to be polite and ask questions but the more we inquired the less we understood.
Every time we go it’s the same issue. The wait staff mumbles and does not pronounce the food items properly. Leaving us a little frustrated not understanding what possible choices are available. I suggest you write out the specials so guests can read for themselves. Helps for those whom do not have an ability to break thru the heavy accents from afar.
As always, excellent service and food! Newman is a real Newman
Waited about 15 minutes at the bar before being seated. Bar Staff pours a good glass of wine :). Music was nice, not too loud. Dinner was very good; a little slow at the end of the night to close out the check.
Wonderful experience. Great service. Checked in on by owner to be sure we were all good. Excellent food. Very historic setting. Good wine. Can't wait to go back.
Great place awesome service and the food is second to none. The owner walks around greeting his guests and sees to it that they are well tended to
Had lunch with family before going to Tomato Tasting Festival and it was so worth the hour and a half drive! Tomato/basil soup was delicious and fresh. Chicken and bacon sandwiches were great. Our family had a burger and the fish and chips, which were very food. Excellent service! Would highly recommend! L&L
The food is always amazing. The owner is super friendly and the atmosphere is lovely.
We moved to the area about 1 year ago and we have tried most of the local restaurants and this is our favorite hands down.
Worth every penny and highly recommend.
Great bar, great bartenders, great waitstaff, burgers are terrific ! A beautiful place in rural Hunterdon County !
Friendly place. Solid food. Always a pleasant evening.
We were welcomed and seated fast and the server was attentive and explained specials. The food was very good and we enjoyed the atmosphere.
Outstanding food, atmosphere, and service! Not to be missed!
Jim, the bartender, makes the best drinks! Food is always delicious! Would recommend!
always great food, the boar was excellent. Service is attentive
Overall wonderful dining experience. Have been here a few times and each time it is better than the last. Favorite restaurant in the area hands down.
restaurant was close to the Beneduce Winery that we visited with friends. The Grilll was not crowded and was very comfortable from a spacing standpoint. Food was very good and will go there again. However, our waiter screwed up one order - she brought out an entree that my friend mentioned but not the one she ordered. Since it was her birthday, the messing up of the timing of our group eating together was very irritating. The only other comment is that this restaurant like many others charges a lot for any fish dishes such that I refrain from ordering because I am not comfortable with ordering a meal in the high $30's without knowing how good it will be.
Good wine assortment and suited well with meals on menus. Service was good for a busy Sunday and special occasion. Tucked away in Hunterdon county worth the drive.
We brought our friends who were visiting from NYC for Sunday brunch/lunch and to have time to talk and catch up. Our server, Joe, was very attentive and friendly. Three of us ordered from the brunch menu, (quesadillas, omelet, eggs benedict) and one ordered fish and chips. The portions were generous, the food was tasty. Everyone was happy. It was the first time there and we all enjoyed the atmosphere and the service. I look forward to going again.
Been going for years. Great service and good food. Gary is very welcoming. Would always recommend for any occasion
Went here for dinner with my husband for the first time on Friday night. They were quite busy, but that's obviously a good sign! Ordered French onion soup, salmon tacos, hanger steak, and roasted chicken. We weren't crazy about the tacos, but everything else was delicious. Sometimes places that give you mashed potatoes and a vegetable medley with all entrees miss the mark, but they did a great job! Server and backwait staff were polite, knowledgeable, and very attentive. Looked like a great bar scene as well! We will definitely be back.
Beautiful Inn in scenic Hunterdon County, great staff, awesome burgers plus! One of my favorites.
Great service, very attentive. Our group included adults and picky eaters (teenagers) who all raved about their meal.
Disappointed this time. It was St Patty's Day and the menu had nothing Irish at all. The Guinness was the best part of our meal. The waiter forgot our French onion soup....and our main course showed up first. The fish & chips were bready with a thin layer of fish. Not at all impressed for $18. Sent it back. Gary the owner always makes his way around and is very professional and nice. He came by as soon as we arrived and not again after. Otherwise we would have provided him the feedback.
