The fire pit tables are impractical for dining as the flames over reached the pit and made glasses etc hot to the touch. Also, it was not clear on reservations that the bar off the main lobby was actually closed.
Just went out to break the isolation.
It was a bit windy and cool, menu limited but
we found enough.
Will go to Valenteins in the future!
Excellent food, service OK-nice waitress but not very experienced. maybe a Summer Vacation job?
Had a reservation, but we’re seated in a corner next to the waiter station and near the entry to the kitchen. Also the table was not nearly level.
Aside from these two items the food and service were very good.
Best burger in San Diego! Lovely outside patio for dining. Everyone enjoyed their meals.
My wife and I had a leisurely breakfast at the grill and everything was great . The food quality was very good and the portion size quite large . Service was timely and friendly .
The rotisserie chicken was not great and I’m not sure if it was even prepared all the way. I ate what I could but most of it was undercooked for my liking. The shrimp cocktail was mediocre at best. Sorry for the review guys, but I know you can (and should) do better.
Such an awesome restaurant overlooking the pacific and infamous golf course. It’s casual while also being very business friendly. The burger is the best - highly recommend. Lots of great food options, good prices for value - unreal views and atmosphere
The drugstore burger never disappoints. Excellent meal and service. And the view is to die for.
Outside seating was wonderful. Everything was exceptional.
Very safe spacing on the patio, extra COVID cleaning and service protocols in place, superb service and excellent food, as always.
we had a reservation for 6:00 but were not seated until 6:25
Great food, like michelin star
As a family loved and we would definitely revisit soon
Always a 5 Star treat!
Great outdoor dining
We had drinks and appetizers upstairs and in the outside of the bar area. The cheese tray was excellent, as was the service and the drink portions were very generous. We dined at the grill and the food and service were super and made for a very fun evening.
Great service and food
Beautiful setting, but ok to be casual. Service and food were excellent!
Great ambiance with views and music. Service was a bit slow and our waitress was not very energetic.. not timely in checking on us for needs…
Extremely casual. Food was good. We did not appreciate being rushed and on a timer to complete our dinner. I have never had a restaurant tell me I could only stay a limited amount of time.
Great service! Great food!
We were staying at the Hilton Next door which does not have any evening dining open right now. We walked a few steps to the Grill for dinner and it was wonderful. Outdoor dining on the glass enclosed patio with heaters was very comfortable. Pretty view of the golf course. We had the tomato soup with a half grilled cheese sandwich and a salad. It was fabulous! Pretty ambiance, lovely service, great food and a gorgeous view!
This was one of the best and most memorable dining experiences I've had in many years. I was particularly impressed with the helpfulness of the staff. I am looking forward to a return visit.
The Lodge has a lovely view of the ocean and the green lawns of the golf course. We chose indoor dining as there was a noticeable breeze, but the outdoor setting would have been OK as well. Most people had opted for outdoors, so the indoor restaurant was quiet which made conversation easy. Food was good and service prompt.
Perfect location to grab a few drinks and enjoy great food while watching the sunset on the Pacific Ocean.
Service was great but the food was mediocre at best. We have been many times before and definitely could taste the difference. The drugstore burger was extremely greasy. We sat indoors and it was very noisy.
My friend did not like the chicken sandwish, I had the hamburger and it was good.
We enjoyed our time and food with lovely accommodating staff.
Food and ambiance is great. We ate breakfast before our round of golf and came back later for dinner afterwards, since we enjoyed it so much.
Friendly staff, but misleading advertising. We made a 7:00 Sat. night reservation to enjoy the sunset and the live music advertised on website. Views are not what you'd expect- big ugly concrete Golf Shop blocks most of the view, including the sunset. And there was no live music. Was it cancelled because of COVID? If so, that should have been updated on website. Some food was very good, but some not- ie, paid $12 extra to have some chicken added to salad, but it was extremely dry.
Overall, not worth the money. Much better places to enjoy coastal views.
We came for my husband’s birthday and got a lovely table overlooking the golf course and the ocean. It was a chilly night but the heater and glass wall kept us warm. The service was amazing starting with the hostess. Our server was attentive and professional and made us feel well cared for. Our appetizer was the Kung pao calamari and it was delicious. My husband ordered the hanger steak (also delicious) and I got the lamb shank. I found the lamb shank overwhelmingly large, not very tender, and not particularly flavorful. The accoutrements on the dish were delicious but if it wasn’t for them there would be really no flavor. So I was disappointed in my entree but luckily my husband shared his. We received a complimentary dessert for my husband which was a brownie topped with ice cream. The brownie was rock hard and cold, but we appreciated the gesture. We also ordered the butterscotch pudding which was great.
Freshest and most delicious food in San Diego. My favorite restaurant
Love the food and the view!!
Food, service and beverages were outstanding. I highly recommend!
We had a lovely fire pit table outside. Our server was very nice, service was great. All of our cocktails we delicious, the food came out hot and fresh tasting. Really good food! We enjoyed ourselves very much and are looking forward to coming back! Can’t beat the ambience either of such a beautiful golf course and lodge!
Great dining experience with amazing views
My toasted sandwich was poor. Service was so inattentive and slow that it was not worth the time and aggravation to return it.
Great view and really good food and service
