The Grill at Silverado Resort Ratings and Reviews
Great ambience at the scenic Silverado Country Club. Try to get a window seat. The service was impeccable, however, the food was a little disappointing and somewhat lacking in flavor. The lamb shank in particular was sub par, mostly because of the accompaniments. I also found that my prime rib was a little chewy and the horseradish sauce was too creamy and devoid of sufficient horseradish. The chef should work on his side dishes a bit more...add a little flavor and more quality.
Dinner was nice. Quiet, only because we were there early. Our food was good, from our special
halibut to my husbands pork chop. We started with a wine by the glass, and the waiter comes over with the bottle and pours a pretty fair amount. Dessert was wonderful, a berry cobbler. We will return. The room was getting busy when we left also tables are fair enough away that you can have a conversation.
The place is rarely busy so it is nice to go for a quiet lunch with friends when you want to spend time "catching-up." However, our server (name started with an M) was over zealous to the point of being intrusive/rude. He totally rushed us in asking presenting the bill, asking us to pay, asking if we were done as he was leaving so he could collect his tip. That should not happen at SCC.
As this the only restaurant at The Silverado resort and spa it was the only choice unless we wanted to drive. It was a mixed of nice dining and a bar for after golf players. The staff was very polite. We ate there 2 nights in a row. I preferred the second night as it wasn't as loud and I had the special which was very good.
The restaurant is located on the grounds of a resort & country club. Diners included sweaty golfers in shorts and flip flops. It's ok if you are staying on property. Not so much if you are stepping out for the evening. This is not a knock against the restaurant. Clearly I should have conducted better research.
Food was ok but a lot. I ordered the fried chicken. Four pieces in an order. I couldn't eat that much on my hungriest day.
Service was good up to a point. We had to hunt the waitress down to let her know we were done and ready to leave.
Saw Birds nd Bubbles event on Silverado web site. To book you were redirected to Open table. There was no event listed so I put this in the comments section. When we got to Silverado tonight for our reservation, the hostess didn't say anything so I asked her and she said of yeah, your waitress will tell you about it.
The waitress gave us a regular menu and we asked her about the event. She said it was a bucket of chicken with champagne, which is not what the add said at all. I told her that and she said she didn't know any more.
We ended up ordering of the regular menu and spending $100 more.
Poorly handled and not what we expected. I just cancelled our other reservations.
We had a casual dinner with wine and good food. Service was spot on...Silverado is a hotel and menu reflexes this. Has something for everyone's taste. Bar is connect to dining room so if dining room is busy go to this room. Wine list has many wines by the glass. The room looks out on to the course so enjoy the fun of checking out the golfers. I forgot to say, that the tables are far away from other tables, you can visit without feeling the other table is listening to your conversation.
Terrible noise level
The outside was all families with young children. We have been there and totally empathize with the unpredictability of children. However, that means that groups of two could not choose outside because of the noise level. As it happens we were celebrating our 51st anniversary and had to move inside.
This was the third time I've had the pleasure of dining at The Grill over the last year.
Each time the dinner was outstanding form all points of view.
I would go back for any reason, special occasion included.
We were treated very well by a knowledgeable waiter.
We live at Silverado and had not been to the grill in awhile. The food was delicious - crispy chicken, wonderful mashed potatoes, and salad. It is a great location and fun to sit outside on a nice evening. Excellent wine list as well. We will be going back very soon.
We enjoyed our meals, & the value & quality was very good! I enjoyed the Sole, which had a nicely flavored sauce, & my other half enjoyed the eggplant. During our trip, we also came for breakfast, & the food was fresh & delicious - both for breakfast, & the brunch over the weekend. The servers were very attentive as well. Will return here again!
We had a dinner and two breakfasts at the Grill recently. Sorry to have to say that nothing was memorable about the dinner. One in our party had onion soup but said that it didn't taste like onion soup. The rest of the entrees were just adequate. Nice presentation for my fish.
The two breakfasts were very tasty.
We were surprised that the Grill did not live up to the amenities of the rest of the resort.
Stayed one night at the resort and found it very convenient to have such a pleasant breakfast overlooking the golf course before our departure. The freshly made omelettes were expertly prepared. The rest of the buffet was simply adequately, but the service was very friendly and efficient. The real star is the view.
The Grille is an opportunity for the resort that doesn't quite make it in a dining rich environment. The food is good - but doesn't compete with many nearby options that provide casual, upscale dining. The menu has no central theme - burgers, steaks, Mexican unless it's to provide resort guests a one size fits all fallback when they can't get a reservation at a more desired Napa option.
We had a 12.30 teetime at Silverado and decided to try their buffet brunch at The Grill. Good options and good service. The only downside were the $11 mimosas. It always throws me off when I get charged an arm and a leg for a drink like this that I think should come standard with any brunch buffet. I'll do the buffet again but I'll stay away from the pricey drinks.
