The Grill at Silverado Resort Ratings and Reviews
Well thank you Silverado...they have improved their menu finally. All of our plates were perfectly seasoned and very carefully presented. Big improvement. We had an appetizer of tuna and then the special entree which was a seafood stew. Excellent flavors. They also added new wines by the glass. Still casual, you can get a hamburger and fries any kind of cocktail...from beer to wine...great selections. I was really tired of the old menu and delighted to see new items. Bravo. I think they have new blood in the kitchen....yes!
We took a couple of friends here for the Chicken and Sparkling wine dinner, as we. had it last year and it was very good. This year is was not as good as it was very lightly coated. I think we got more chicken last year. This year we got one thigh, one breast, 1 drum stick and 1 wing. The mashed potatoes while good were not hot and the salad was wilted. The cole slaw was good. I think that for a $45 special for two we should have gotten more chicken and maybe even a vegetable like last year. I have made reservations for 2 future dinners here with the intent of bringing guests. I am not sure the meal was good enough for bringing guests who have never dined here.
Silverado is a classic Napa Valley experience. The ambiance is wonderful. The expansive resort is very inviting and well maintained. We live at Silverado and love to go to brunch and dinner there. I had decided it would be a great place to take my new boss and his wife for dinner. It was a Sunday evening and I knew the resort had had a big weekend filled with weddings. So I thought it would be perfect for a quiet Sunday dinner. The food was great. The problem was that it appeared they had given the primary chef and servers the night off. We got there at 6:30 and ordered promptly. The first time we saw any food was 8PM. There were only five tables of diners so I do not know what happened. But a resort needs to be full service at all times. It was quite embarrassing for me to take my boss out to dinner and have it take forever.
Delicious and tasty food, but they really to hire more waitress. Our waitress was trying to do his best, but he had a lot of other tables to cover. We had to wait almost 25 min to place the order, and then 45 min to get it ready, and then more 40 min just to get the check.. Sometimes very disorganized too, like multiple waitress coming and asking if we had everything we need, but the service was very slow and poor.
Probably The Worst Meal During Our Northern CA Vacation in Napa! The Silverado Resort and Spa was a great place to hang our hats for three nights, but The Grill was a major disappointment, especially at a vacation resort! There were 6 of us, all guests at the resort and all very disappointed. Two of the entrees ordered called for shrimp. The tiny shrimp tasted as if they were frozen, not fresh and were purchased from Costco. I personally ordered the Pasta Bolognese. It was the worst I've ever eaten. It was dry and with very little bolognese sauce. Lastly, my son ordered the Rib-Eye Steak. Big mistake. Overcooked! The Petrale Sole was ok. 1 of 6. We couldn't get out of there fast enough! I advised the front desk upon checkout. I was told that she'd look into it and call me to hopefully make it right. The total bill was just about $300.00. It's been five days now and still no call! Is that what you call great customer service???
We always go here July 3rd for the pass eight years. I wished there was more variety on the menu and changes in the menu. We always end up getting the hamburgers. Some of my friends got the hanger steak and pork chop entree and said it was very good. Service was a little hit and miss and scattered brain. Don't order the Grapefruit Jalapeño Margarita the taste was awesome and I had lots of Jalapeño Margaritas at lots of fine dining across the world and this was the worse. Our Kobe beef hamburgers were all cooked to perfection. This restaurant is good for a casual dining experience, not fine dining.
We went early on a Sunday and found it a nice quiet time. We both had the special which was Salmon. It was prepared perfectly. Enjoyed watching the golfers and in a relaxed atmosphere.
Our server Brittany was darling and well trained. Thank you Silverado for a nice experience.
The Grill at Silverado is a gem for locals. The food is good and the service is also very good on most occasions. On our recent visit is was crowded with two large tables made up for a very large family group. It was noisy but understandable. The service staff was a bit distracted, but also understandable. Kendall was excellent and so sweet. The prime rib was really good but if you react to tenderizer later - be careful. The gazpacho was not acidic enough for me - too sweet; almost like a cold squash soup. The flatbread was very good. The shrimp was tasty.
We enjoyed the evening.
The hostess forgot about us even though we had a reservation I had to remind her we were still waiting it was 30 minutes after our reservation time that we were finally seated
Then the waitress forgot about us so the hostess took our order our appetizer order was submitted twice and our main course wasn't submitted at all
Silverado Resort mother's day brunch at the Grand Ballroom 5/14/17. I have been to more than a few of Silverados buffet events because they have some of the best quality food items and a wide array of choices. This year was the best to date. Everything ran smoothly and was organized. The wait staff was on there game and I have nothing negative to say. People who know me would be shocked that this is the case. The food was wonderful, the service was great and I didn't mind the premium price tag because it was worth every penny. I highly encourage anyone to experience this great buffet event or any others. I believe they do Thanksgiving and Christmas as well, annually. An 18% gratuity is automatically applied and topping is not necessary. I felt every was on par so I chose to add to that. A piece of advice. The Grand Ballroom buffet is completely different than the buffet at the Grill. I have not experienced the buffet at the Grill but I do know you have fewer food choices. The price is adjusted accordingly. Personally, I would choose the Grand Ballroom. If possible and the weather permits, asked to be seated on the patio adjacent to the golf course. The view is quit nice. My overall rating would be 4-1/2 stars if given the option. I never rate anyone 5 stars because there is always something else comparable or possibly better. I keep an open mind. I recommend this venue to parties big or small. You won't be disappointed. Cheers,
The Mother's Day Sunday Brunch was very nice.
The omelette station was great and no long lines.
Service was really good and attentive without being intrusive.
We spent two hrs there and the time just zipped by.
I plan to go back for Brunch and try their Happy Hour menu.
While we enjoyed our stay at Silverado Resort, dining at the Grill was not a great experience. We arrived 30 minutes before our reservation to have a drink and appetizer at the bar. The bartender was rude and unprofessional. We asked to order an appetizer and the bartender asked what we wanted, we replied we would like to see a menu and she rolled her eyes. She asked what time our reservation was and acted like it was an inconvenience to place an appetizer order for us at the bar as we had an upcoming reservation for a table. Once at our table, we were informed that the appetizer order was never placed. Our waitress was very very nice but the service was slow despite the restaurant not being very busy. My friend ordered clam chowder for dinner but was given minestrone instead. The server never told her the kitchen was out of the chowder or asked if she'd like something else, she just decided to deliver the minestrone instead. The food was mediocre. Next time, we will head to Napa for dinner.
My husband, friends & I went to Napa for a long weekend. We arrived on Friday, and left late Monday. In the 4 days we were there, The Silverado Resort and Spa made an excellent home base. It is so convenient to downtown Napa, which is booming, Napa wine country, Sonoma, and beyond. We went wine tasting to many beautiful places, and out to eat at several note worthy places. By the time Sunday night rolled around we didn't want to drive into town again so we decided to chill at the beautiful hotel and dine at Silverado Grill. Great decision! In fact, if we stay in the area again, we would purposely drive to Silverado Resort to eat there again- it was that good! First of all, the service was fantastic. It was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and professional. You can tell they have been well trained. The wine list was well curated and included some hard to find boutique wines. The view of the golf course from the dining room is gorgeous and you truly feel transported. The dining patio is lovely and all tables are roomy and well spaced. Now, the food!!!! This was the best part of all. I ordered the Crab Louie salad and it was one of the best EVER! My benchmarks for crab louie are Tadish Grill in SF and the shrimp louie at R&D in Yountville. I crave them. And, the Silverado Grill salad was better!!!! - which means it was exceptional!!!!!! The amount of crab was soooooo generous, so fresh, so tasty. And the Louie dressing was delicious, really smooth, so flavorful. The lettuces were so fresh, such a lovely variety of tender greens, not just chopped iceburg or romain. Perfect. I ate every bite.
Then I ordered the fried chicken which they are famous for. Of course, in the Bay Area we have some famous, delicious fried chicken. Ad Hoc in Yountville and Pizzaiolo in Berkeley come to mind. This was as good - possibly even better. Why better? Because you can get it when you want it, you dont have to wait for only certain nights. We will be back to the S Grill to dine ASAP!
