The Grill at Silverado Resort
Whether you are looking for a fine dining experience in the heart of Napa Valley, casual fare, quick snack or a place to relax and contemplate your day, The Grill at Silverado Resort is the place for great dining in Napa.
On their website, they advertise Breakfast Buffet as something special but in reality it's just a below average buffet (even their website picture doesn't match the actual space). There are no special brunch items whatsoever. Their breakfast buffet is actually worse than a very basic generic hotel breakfast buffet.
With so many great dining experiences available in Napa Valley, it’s just not fair to do food poorly. My steak frites was obscenely over priced (higher than the filet) and was smothered with a disgusting spicy orange sauce, and the fries clearly had been frozen and thrown in a deep fryer. I’m not sure how you mess up fries, but they were inedible. When done with dinner, we waited 15 minutes for our waiter to come by, after asking another waitress twice that we’d like our check. We also got the spring vegetables to start- very strange plating. DO NOT COME HERE.
The staff appear to be in a rush throughout the meal. It’s understandable for people to want to go home on Valentine’s Day, but the rush certainly had a negative impact on the overall dining experience.
Amazing dining experience celebrating my daughter's 40th birthday. All of our meals were delicious and service was immpeccable! Highly recommend!
This is the second time my girlfriends and I have dined at The Grill. for a birthday celebration. We found our experience very unsatisfactory. First of all our server seemed to be out of sight most of the evening. Our drinks came very late. We had to ask about our entrees a few times.
She brought out our appetizers and a bowl of soup for one of the ladies. 3 of us order the clam chowder, but we had to wait a long time to get them. Most of us ordered salads, but we waited so long for them and again, they all came separately, and very slowly.
One of the ladies didn’t get her salad and lobster Mac and cheese until after a couple of us were finished with our meals. Very bad!
The server mentioned they had a private room to serve and that’s why our soup spoons were delayed coming to our table. The soup was just warm by then. We had to ask for bread, our soup spoons and our food many times. Mostly, the server was out of the room while we were there.
We expected much better service for dining at Silverado.
We will not be coming back.
Daughters 21 Bday. Service and food was Awesome!!!! Our waiter and the manager were friendly knowledgeable and attentive. Our family of had the scallops, lamb, steak w fritte, and salmon. Everyone one of us loved our dishes. We brought in a 1970 and 1997 Georges de Latour - great handling of both wines. Definitely recommend this place. 😎👍🏼
Went for brunch but they only had a lame buffet. Very disappointed.
Had a great time with the New Years Eve gathering. Just loved how things were set up and
had a great time at the after party. Hope to be there again next year if not sooner.
The service was great. We had some very noisy neighbors. To much eggs where processed in the food.
The fish could have been served separately instead of imbedding in eggs Benedict .
A $27 for the fluffed the selection was limited. Fruits where fresh.
The food quality and atmosphere for the Christmas dinner offered was terrible... especially for the price. It was $69 per per person for 3 courses. I paid $5 extra for the shrimp cocktail which was the only decent thing on the menu. The prime rib, potatoes and spinach tasted like cafeteria food and the ambience was similar. Bright lights and a bskwtball game on TV. The decorations looked like they should be at a nursing home. It smelled like one too.I thought it would be more festive too.
Service was below average. Took forever to get the food, and several things weren’t brought to the table. Seemed short stalled. Nothing special for kids. A disconnect between the website and what was actually available.
I wish Napa had more restaurants open on Christmas. I know there would be a demand.
Service was excellent and the ambiance was nice. The food was disappointing in taste and presentation.
We had a marvelous Christmas dinner. Highly recommend!
We were here for a Christmas Morning breakfast buffet. Food was very nicely prepared and what one might hope to see. Fresh fruit, eggs, omelette station, Belgian waffles, assorted meats (bacon, sausage, ham), eggs Benedict with salmon, breakfast pastries with condiments. Very nice.
Xmas dinner with family
Aside from a very limited menu the Grill is a good option if you are staying at the resort and don’t want to venture to the Valleys many better options. It’s baffling why the menu is so minimal at dinner and so broad at lunch - maybe management just doesn’t want to compete
We had a lovely dinner on Saturday night. The restaurant at 5:30 was quiet but picked up around 7ish.
Food was perfectly prepared and service was very nice. Will return. oh...they have added new items to
their menu. Good variety. Enjoyed ourselves!
are great neighborhood location and good food... been coming here since we moved in early 2017
Nice restaurant took a shuttle from our room had a nice meal and shuttled back, good way to end a bust day
The Silverado Grill is a wonderful local dining venue. The food is always great and I've never been disappointed . It has a resort feel but is a cut above in food quality. Highly recommend it.
We had thanksgiving dinner here and although it was not crowded at all, we only saw our server once. Gabriela took our order and then never returned. Someone else brought our food and then we sat for almost 35 minutes with plates and empty glasses on the table waiting for our check. Finally I had to flag someone down and ask for the check.
We usually visit Silverado's Grill for major holidays: Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc., because they have perfected holiday meals, always a wonderful choice between standards (such as turkey with all the trimmings) and modern offerings (roast salmon, vegetarian pasta, always a steak). The food is expertly prepared and served in a celebratory atmosphere.
The new menu leaves a lot to be desired. Why no flat bread? Someone needs a new recipe for white bean soup.
I had the scallops.
My husband and his friend had the filet.
The food and service was very good
Food is great, however, the service and staff need to pay attention to their customers. The dining room was almost empty and we didn't see our server until it was time to pay the bill.
Our dinner was exquisite! We requested a table by the window overlooking the golf course. We each had a scrumptious steak, and the frites were to die for! Service by Naomi was excellent. We'll be back soon!
It was a great place for dinner after the Safeway Open Golf Tournament Sunday night. Busy as expected, but great service and attention! . . . And tasty food and wine!
Took long time to be acknowledged by server ordered a $21 glass of wine served in a plastic wine cup had to ask for a stem glass no bread brought had to ask bus boy brought wrong appetizers ordered a second glass of wine got a half pour she said it was because they ran out of the wine I could go on and on will definitely not go back
Excellent setting - wait person was always attentive and available before asked
We love coming to this resort to stay but the customer service here is ridiculous. The bus boy was our server, we were never assigned server because they were to busy, I never got my drink because the bar was to busy (I’m sorry, I made a reservation, why should happy hour take my spot? And I love a good happy hour!) We got 2 salads, took 1 hour.
We went on a Saturday at noon because they advertise brunch. When we got there, it was not available. The server told us that they have a buffet breakfast until 11am and if there are enough patrons at the restaurant they hold it open longer so it is not truly brunch. In that respect I was disappointed. Otherwise the food we did order was good, service was fairly quick and sitting out on the patio is fun.
Been here several times and its excellent EVERY TIME!
New menu, better execution, better ingredients, but quite pricey. For a golf course grille there’s a noticeable lack of casual cuisine - salads and sandwich options are limited and very pricey compared to local options.
Usual Americn breakfast!
We find the Grill to always be dependable for dinners and lunches. a new menu is great and food is well prepared. There is a "bar" menu too for more casual eating and TV sports watching. The atmosphere is perfect for a club grill restaurant.
Slow food preparation tonight
Delicious food, nice wine list, friendly service.
I sat on the deck and watched the sun set.
The place to eat if you are at the resort.
Normally, I would provide a 5 star recommendation. We like to frequent the Grill as it's not far from the office. Yesterday we were entertaining clients and thought the Grill would be the perfect spot. We brought our own bottle of wine and scheduled reservations weeks in advance. Upon our arrival we were greeted and immediately taken to our table. After we were seated, it took 10-15 minutes before staff brought us water, opened our bottle of wine and checked to see if we had questions. Another 10 minutes went by before our wine was opened and 10 more before our order was taken. The food was excellent and came out from kitchen promptly; all at once. Our server was nice but inattentive. We had to ask for water and she never checked on us during the meal. There were several staff in the dining room yet no one checked on our table. I also noticed that the most of the service staff working didn't smile, just ignored us.
The menu was completely different from our last visit so I'm guess the Grill is going through some restructuring. We'll give it another chance with the hopes the staffing issues are dealt with.
The truffle fries are to die for. Double crunchy on the outside, yet creamy on the inside. That, and a glass of Pinot Noir - yum!
This was our first time dining at the grill and we were very satisfied.
Similar to the rest of this tired resort, the service was slow, inattentive and aloof. The environment is one of a residential home and we had to ask the hostess several times to find our wait staff before finally just walking out of the restaurant. We ended up having a great dinner at Celadon in Napa
Napa has so many great restaurants, don’t waste your time with this less than mediocre establishment
