The Grill at Harryman House Ratings and Reviews
We were celebrating my birthday. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. I had the short ribs which were so tender you could cut it with a fork. This restaurant is in a historic building and has a fantastic atmosphere especially for a date night.
I WAS LAST IN THE RESTAURANT 30 YRS AGO. ENJOYED IT THEN AS I DID RECENTLY. FOOD WAS SUPERB AS WAS OUR WAITRESS. THE ONLY NEGATIVE WAS THE DINING AREA WAS TOO LOUD. DO NOT TAKE THIS AS A COMPLAINT-ONLY THAT IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO CONVERSE WITH OUR GUESTS DUE TO THE LOUDNESS. WE, HOWEVER HAD A GREAT TIME AND WE WILL SEE YOU AGAIN IN THE NEAR FUTURE. THANK YOU.
The new fall menu is so fantastic. We shared Cauliflower popcorn, oysters on the half shell and a caesar salad. Our main courses consisted of Seafood Cioppino in a delicious fennel and tomato broth and a grilled Filet Mignon at a perfect medium rare and served over patatas bravas with the most delicious onion and gruyere cheese soubiose sauce.
As always, The Grill at Harryman House delivered an impeccable meal only to be outdone by the wonderful ambiance and service we received from their fantastic staff.
We often go to the Harryman Grill. On this occasion we went with a group of people. We had a very enjoyable time overall. However on past occasions I have ordered from the light fare as opposed to an entire entree. This time I order an entree that was the special for the day. It really did not meet my expectations. I would prefer only to order from the light fare menu in the future.
We always enjoy The Grill at Harryman House. Whether you sit in the bar or at a table, it's got great ambiance and you'll probably run into someone you know. This time was no different!! The food is always great and I like getting a "flight" of wine -- it's a taste of 3 different wines that equals a little more than one glass of wine. This time I had the Malbec flight.
My husband and I were celebrating our 5 year anniversary on Friday evening at 6pm and sat in the backside of the restaurant where they had 4-5 two-top tables (by the window, in the wooded section). We had a female server (I do not recall her name) who kept disappearing for at least 20 minutes throughout our dinner. I tried to ask her a question and she said she would "be right back" and appeared 20 minutes later. We were there for over THREE HOURS (because we were constantly waiting for our server). She was not knowledgeable of the menu as I asked for suggestions and she said "I am bad with decisions" and didn't even attempt to explain the menu or show us the specials. We ordered wine flights and she sat them on our table and started to walk away. I asked if she could explain the wines and she said "read the paper." She was not helpful at all and put a damper on what was supposed to be a special night out away from our kids to celebrate our anniversary.
Harriman never disappoints. I love the original log cabin for my dining. The wine samplers are a creative fun touch! The personal nuances displayed by a sensitive wait staff is a charming addition to a tasty meal, which is always presented in a low key but artistic fashion. This venue has always been a positive gem for historic Reisterstown and environs.
The Grill at Harryman House has been our neighborhood "go to" nice restaurant for years. As of right now, they have a very nice selection of food and it changes seasonally. A very nice place to go for a special night out or for a casual meal at the last minute.
We went for Restaurant Week in order to try it, and were not disappointed! Our meals were wonderful. Be sure to ask for bread (it wasn't served automatically!)...it was delicious as was the dipping oil that was served with it.
It was about a 45 minute drive for us to get to The Grill at Harryman House, but we said we would definitely return...whether it was Restaurant Week or not!
The Harryman House is a very reliable place to eat dinner. The food was pretty good this time. The server said that our Pizza was a little different this time because they had a new pizza guy working...
That's not okay to say, but so be it. We will be back though.
