Great food and great service in a quaint atmosphere

The waiter told me the quiche of the day was spinach and crab and I groaned. Love crab, love quiche just don’t love crab in my quiche. He told me that he would come back when I was “less high maintenance.” He was totally serious and I was incredibly offended. I doubt I’ll ever set foot in the place again. And no tip. I let the hostess know how angry I was. I don’t care what a customer says you never treat them disrespectfully. If it was my restaurant I would fire that guy. Three days later and still upset.

I have enjoyed the Harryman House in the past for Sunday brunch. I go there 3-4 times a year. In the past the menu had more to choose from for both breakfast food and lunch food. I am not one to complain and I do always try to be positive. However, this is the second time I have gone for brunch here lately, and have found that the menu items are different or they are not served as before. Seems the preparation of the food was overdone for an omelet and for the potatoes. Also, food was a bit bland. The bread and muffins were the highlight. I know the bar has good sandwiches and lunch meals, but to have a real breakfast brunch that is not a buffet, Harryman was always a good choice in the past in my area. I am not sure if I will do brunch again but will go for lunches in the bar.

Great deal for lobster night. A large lobster and baked potato for a great price.

We had 7:30 reservations, arrived at 7:25, and were not seated until 7:50. When, at 7:45, we asked when we might expect to be seated we were told that it was only 15 minutes past our reservation. No apology. No updates after we checked in. We were not as annoyed with the wait as we were with the response of the hostess. Our waiter was experienced and professional.

The food is always good at The Harryman House. I had the wagyu steak and was able to switch from fries to a salad easily. The steak was tender and very tasty, though there were just 4 very small slices (1.5 x 3 inches) slices of it.

The food was great. Staff was friendly and attentive. Well maintained for older building from what I could tell. We were seated in a kind of isolated area so I didn’t see main dinning room.

Food was great, but the service was extremely slow, and it was not terribly busy. No one was moving very quickly. Empty wine and water glasses for long periods of time, had to waive servers down to get refills, food took a bit but that would have been acceptable if service was up to par and we had drinks and communication. We didn't see server for long periods of time. Credit cards were sitting on table after getting check for over 20 minutes when we were ready to leave. We had to waive server to get her to come back. For the price, service should have been much better. It was a shame because all of our meals were delicious!

Harryman's is a comfortably reliable neighborhood place - with some adventurous dishes. My wife loves the sous vide chicken; I like the shrimp and grits. Harryman's had a nice Sun review; it faulted the service for being slow. We didn't see that, maybe management reacted (it was only a few days after the review issued). Our complaint is that they routinely spread guests over many rooms (there are at least 5) and you do get the feeling that the place is empty. Worth a trip though.

I find the food to be a bit uneven. I agree with the review in the Balt Sun-the hostess wasn’t friendly. Perfunctory perhaps. Our server was fine, attentive and our orders were correct. The food was just ok. I’ve been there before, and had a good meal. Overall, I find dining there to be an uneven experience

Been here many times. Went on the occasion of a birthday. Brunch was being served, and it was just 'ok'. I wish I could say it was better. The brunch potatoes were very oily, however; the fried green tomatoes, roasted oysters, and Caesar salad were outstanding. The eggs, well....were eggs. Nothing that interesting. Server was good, although, we waited a while for someone to come to the table to get our order....then waited another while for the brunch to be served. It wasn't that complicated, so I don't understand the wait. I will say, there are few options for vegetarians and vegans. I am most surprised in today's setting there aren't more of these options available, other then putting vegetables on pasta.

My husband and I went to dinner for dinner on Saturday night. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. I was disappointed that we were not seated in the main dining room because it has more ambiance but it turned out fine. Our server was helpful, pleasant and attentive. All of our dishes were delicious and we even had leftovers. We will definitely be back!

Kudos to our waiter. He noticed I left most of my butternut squash soup and brought me cream of crab without a word from us. He also accommodated my request for one scoop of ice cream instead of the generous three scoop bowls usually dispensed. My husband loved his phyllo vegi-rolls and his squash entree. It was good to see a couple options for vegan and vegetarian customers.

The butternut squash bisque was as thick as applesauce. The flavor was unremarkable. Basically it was too thick to enjoy. My roast chicken entree had a delicious sauce, but some of the meat was still bloody, so the entree was not a hit with me. The cherry chocolate ice cream was wonderful.

As we are frequent customers of the restaurant, we will return, but perhaps not as soon as usual.

Host were not very friendly or welcoming.(black young man)

Lamb chops were small, but flavorful.

Waiter forgetful, but very nice and professional.

By the way....I'm black and have going there off and on for a long time.

Was not as good as it normally is. I think it had more to do with the mediocre service we got . Waitress was barely involved and that’s not at all typical for Harrymans. Overall, was less than stellar which it usually is

We were a party of 7 with three children who range from 5 to 13 and are extremely well behaved in a restaurant. Server started out well but slowed down considerably throughout our dinner which started at 5:45 and ended around 8 pm. 2 pizzas 1 sandwich 3 Kids meals and 1 special menu pasta along with 2 desserts 1 salad and one soup came to approx $200 with tip. We did not have to pay extra for the long blonde hair entwined in the accompanying vanilla ice cream and were offered another scoop (most probably from the same tub) which we declined, but accepted the servers apology. WHY DID I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE HAIRY ICE CREAM!!! As a Reisterstown resident for more than 30 years we have had several parties and many dinners and lunches at Harryman over this span. Don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon. Don’t know why I should ingest someone else’s DNA.

Used to enjoy it all, but last time it was bad. Saturday night, full house to be expected, so have enough staff, right? No way, we had to wait for every step of the dinner, total time 2h45min for standart limited choices of the Restaurant week. Mahi mahi did not have any flavor, beet salad was too small for the price, although desert was delicious. They will have to earn us back.

I made 1130 reservation. The African male seems to be the host or whatever his title it does not give him the rights to ignore customers. No greetings, not even acknowledgment. Seems like he knows the couple who walked in, even though we were there first. He could have acknowledged we exist. Not a single courtesy, except where do we want to sit.i am a restaurant manager myself. Have been a local from reisterstown and this was a to go for us . If it wasn't for my friends birthday we would have left. The waiter did not even introduce herself, did not come back to check on us if everything was ok. Then the wine has a hair on it. If I did not check out the cheque she would have not taken off the wine ..advised to management : train your people good service . I would have reprimand him. Not good. Very rude! I don't think we will come back. Food was ok. Can do better..
