Excellent time once again at the Harryman House. Food was very well prepared and our server was very attentive without being intrusive. Slight variations for dietary concerns were handled seamlessly. We have never had a bad meal or a bad experience there. Will definitely return.
Great menu, great taste. Accommodations and service for handicap is outstanding.
I have been going to the Harryman House for years and never have had a bad experience. Good, varied menu, which changes just enough to make it interesting. The service is always wonderful. My go-to place in the area.
The service was excellent - friendly and supremely attentive but not interfering. Waters kept topped off. Allowed to chat with companion and take time making decisions, never felt rushed. We pretty much had a room to ourselves (Tuesday evening), which was bright and airy with local photographs. We could hear people/a crowd in another room (the bar area I believe), but it wasn’t disruptive, since it was a room or two away. Cocktail was attractive and fairly well balanced, decent overall. Food (calamari, grill burger, beet salad) was good to great (though beet salad could stand more beets! But lovely flavor and textures), and the dessert (bananas foster supreme) was the best bananas foster I have ever had!!! I will return just for that! Overall it was a bit pricey, but not over the top. It was a very pleasant place and experience for an evening out/dinner with a friend.
Service was great. Extensive menu offering appetizers, small plates, light fare and dinners. Will definitely go there again.
This was our first time here. Fez was our waiter. He was very helpful and attentive. For an appetizer we had the siracha cauliflower. Very tasty. I had the branzino (sea bass) and my wife had blackened chicken wrap. Both were very good. It wasn't crowded when we were there since it was fairly early on Saturday evening.
Staff is unfriendly but so so efficient. Menu has so much promise I really wanted to like it. Nope. Korean ribs were so fat and tough they were virtually inedible. Barramundi cooked to the point you needed a steak knife to cut. Apple pie was burned black on the bottom. Simply nothing to see here. Move along.
Food was good. Hamburger was cooked to red instead of pink for medium on two sandwiches, but was still edible. Did not send back because of time constraints. Steak skewer on another order was prepared as requested by guest. Server was super-excellent. Very knowledgeable and presented himself well.
The crab cakes were dry and had too much filling. The food was absolutely horrible.
There were seven of us, most had never been there before. and thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. The food choices were many, the food was delicious and the service was excellent! Mickey, our server was personable, very knowledgeable, and super efficient. Can’t wait to go back
The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the service was great! My meal (the Korean sticky ribs) was just ok-actually I was disappointed. Everyone else enjoyed their meal, and I do have to say: the crab dip is delicious! Overall, I would not make it a point to go back.
Service was great. Salads were not fresh and scimpy on the ingredients. Especially the strawberry salad. There was maybe 1 strawberry cut into quarters and not fresh.
Excellent service, great food and drinks. Looking forward to our next visit!
Great place for an excellent meal in a quaint setting...the old log house is integrated into the decor. Had the Monday night steak special which was excellent. Good wine by the glass choices. Our waiter was super slow so luckily we weren't in a hurry. Waited at least 15 min for bread, water glasses weren't filled until the end of the meal when my glass was empty. It was a slow night so I guess wait staff was also on slow-mo. Definitely will return.
Perfect evening. Love this place because service and food are consistently excellent. The grilled endive is awesome.
Something is happening at our favorite restaurant. New menu — not interesting
Food quality is poor and it used to be great
Food is way too salty
Missing favorite menu items
New food management — very poor
New ownership— reduced quality
Probably will not return
Super cute and definitely like there is different spaces for the bar and dining. Surprised by how loud it was by other tables.
consistently excellent food, excellent service, and a creative menu. My friends and I will be back.
Always delicious and always a great night of food, drink and lovely environment.
Server played favoritism. Food that I desired wasn’t on menu. Ordered scallops instead, but it wasn’t worth the charge.
Little disappointed in mahi app...mealy and very little taste.....service good but items could have been staggered...still eating our wings when everything else arrived...they had to keep warm which overcooked burger and mahi mahi...but my son and I always enjoy a quite meal on the porch.
Have always loved going here: it's a "go to" for casual special occasions and holidays. Can't go wrong here, whether you're looking for a great burger and a bar type atmosphere, or a quiet dinner with a special someone!
This is a great restaurant / bar. I had dinner in the bar with a date and it was perfect. There was music playing but not too loud. It has a good atmosphere with a couple of TV's playing sports, but not the feel of a sports bar. All the staff was welcoming.
Food & service was excellent! Many thanks to Olivia!!
We had a few issues with the food and portions but our waitress was very sweet (as were all of the staff we interacted with) and they did a good job of making our special day a nice one despite the bad weather.
Everything was great! Atmosphere was homey and spacious at the same time. The food was excellent and our server Mickey was very nice and helpful.
Food was excellent! Service was excellent! Noise level was a tad high... maybe the high ceilings? It was difficult to hold a conversation.
This was our third visit to the restaurant. The staff was very helpful and kind. The food was delicious. The one issue we had was the entree Shrimp Pil Pil, though delicious, was EXTREMELY small. It was more like an appetizer.
Harryman House Grill is a charming place with an ambiance that makes it feel like a getaway. The wait staff is a delightful part of the experience. The food had always been delicious and special, but we wondered if there is a different chef now. The Maryland crab soup was a disappointment, as there was not a single bit of crab meat or even crab flavor. Our entrees were okay, but not great. Saving grace was the fabulous dessert.... the apple crostata was Devine, as was the accompanying butter pecan ice cream.
Wife’s birthday page table next to us was over the top loud and very irritatung
We ate in the bar but it was soooo noisy I couldn't hear the people across from me and we were in a booth. They have wonderful specials during the week - we were there on Thursday so it was Lobster night and it was great. I found out after that the special is for the entire restaurant - I thought it was for the bar only. Next time I will eat in the restaurant.
Miki was our server and is superior. The food was excellent. My cousin and I had lunch there on Wednesday, May 8 at Noon. There was a muscles special for $10 that day, and we each ordered it with a different preparation. They both were great. My cousin’s salmon entree was very nice. I had their tuna fish sandwich (really) and it was as wonderful as I remember it (it recently returned to the lunch menu).
Prior to this dining experience, I’d have given Harryman House 5 stars every time. On Sunday, though, we were pretty disappointed with our meals. The appetizer was a cheese and meat board & one of the cheeses was so strong and foul-tasting. One of the meats was duck pâté, which just isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. For the main dish, my husband’s pork dish was mediocre. It was not trimmed of fat, was bland, and the vegetable (kale, I think) was over cooked and not tasty. I ordered the fettuccini bolognese, and while it was delicious, the serving - listed under “big plates” - was a smaller serving that our daughter’s pasta with marinara. I was hoping that for the price, it’d be more than 1c of pasta. Dessert was delicious, though they were out of the first choice, cookies. Our waitress was friendly and the restaurant was clean. Our meal just didn’t live up to our prior experiences & left us not up for visiting again soon.
My daughter and I enjoyed Sunday brunch at Harryman House recently. Although service was very slow, we thought our dishes were very good--a crab omelet and a beet salad. The atmosphere is very charming.
Best meal I’ve eaten in years!
Not what I expected.
We had a great meal!
My fiancé ordered the steak and asked for it to be cooked at “medium” temperature. When she received the steak the first few bites were fine until we realized the other have of the steak was beyond raw to the point of uncooked and hard to cut. We pointed this out to the waitress and she completely agreed and had the remaining steak sent back to be cooked. After about 10 minutes waiting it came back and was STILL uncooked and in fact cold. At this point we brought to the waitresses attention again and she once again saw and agreed. This time the waitress said they would add some mash potatoes and make sure to cook the steak. Another 10 minutes passes and we get the steak (finally edible) but no mashed potatoes because apparently they were “running low”. This was the worst experience we have ever had at a restaurant let alone a “nice restaurant”. Not to mention no effort was given to apologize and offer discount on any of our meals or drinks.
One of our favorite places to dine! The food was excellent and the service was friendly and very professional. Great Place!
We have been to The Grill at Harryman House many times and it never disappoints. The food is always excellent (we love all the small plate options), the service is very good and the ambiance is wonderful. And the desserts are outstanding.
