The Grill at Grande Vista Ratings and Reviews
This was perhaps the WORST meals we've ever eaten at a restaurant. There were THREE major factors informing this opinion:
1) The restaurant did not offer menu service for Christmas dinner, only a buffet. At $49.99/adult, we thought that, for a Christmas buffet, we would spring for it, assuming it would be "special." We do feel that we should have been informed ahead of making the reservation, perhaps even by Open Table, that only a buffet would be offered.
2) The food was HORRIBLE. Not just bad ... HORRIBLE. The chicken was tasteless. The mashed potatoes were rubbery. The macaroni and cheese was disgusting, and the green beans were not even cooked. The "dessert" consisted of burned cookies.
3) The gratuity was automatically added onto the total (at 20%) even though it was a buffet and convention holds that 20% is not expected when all the waitstaff do is bring drinks.
SO, for this HORRIBLE meal, we ended up paying over $285 for FOUR adults for food that was of lower quality than Ryan's or Golden Coral, to be generous.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
I made my reservation months in advance and even called to confirm two days prior, but the table I requested near the windows was not ready when I arrived. My guests and I had to wait for the staff to push two mismatched tables together in the back room. Although the food was excellent, I’m so turned off that I will go elsewhere next time.
Excellent menu with prime rib featured on Sunday and Wednesday. Fine steaks, friendly, efficient service. Excellent bar selection and if breakfast or lunch an great golf course view. Sunday brunch is the best. Way back from I Blvd so the atmosphere is quiet. We are repeat visitors.
Great meal and service. Veal Marsala excellent & tender; salmon w/ginger sauce very tasty. Topped off our wonderful dinner with a nice dessert--warmed chocolate bundt cake with chocolate sauce and ice cream. Also a
very nice wine selection to start our dinner off with. Very reasonable and child friendly.
Fantastic cuts of steak perfectly cooked and delicious delivered in a club house for a golf course was a bit bright lighting for dinner bit we sat outside and enjoyed the night air staff were perfectly attentive and couldn't ask for the food to be better prepared we both had the new York but added a delicious peppercorn sauce I'd go back
Nice casual atmosphere located at the Marriott Grande Vista. Wanted a decent steak which it was. The bar tender doubled as waiter but he did it with a smile and service was great, perhaps to fast, the entree came out seconds after finishing salads.
Only big negative was very poor wine list.
I am an owner at the Marriott and I often go to the Grandvista and dine at The Grill. Unfortunately this time we were seated in an area and I think we were forgotten. We waited an unusually long time for the food and for the most part it was cold. For the price you pay the service, the attention, and the food quality should have been better and has been better. I have never experienced this before there so perhaps it was just an off night. I will try again on my next visit
Our family dined here after golf one day. Four adults. Food was good, choices of simple food or more fine dining were available. Menu was a little small but we were all able to find something that fit our needs for a late diner. Casual dress worked out. Crab cakes and Salmon were good. Burgers also good. Service was timely. Our server was pleasant and helpful.
Big surprise when we discovered the 'great steakhouse' I got as the result of an internet search was in the clubhouse of a golf course....Was expecting something more elegant & upscale. The description never mentioned the golf course aspect. Service was terrific. Food was good but not what I had hoped it would be. Would have appreciated it more if I had just come off the course after playing 18.....
This restaurant is located at the Marriott Grande Vista Resort in Orlando. The restaurant is in the same building as the golf pro shop and golf instruction center.
We have dined here many times. They have a very good rib special every Monday night.
In addition the food is very good.
Limited seating area so call for reservations before you go. Nice bar area area and a wrap around outdoor porch for afternoon drinks or lunch. Outside seating offers a view of the golf course and practice area.
Fourth time to dine and was disappointed this time. Chicken was overlooked and dry. French onion soup said crostini but it was 2 small seasoned croutons that tasted terrible... thank goodness the bread served to the table was there. I would not recommend these entrees . Ribs and Prime rib had on another visit were good. Our waiter was nice but very busy with a large party and other tables.
We dined here three of seven evenings of our vacation. Location was convenient, but the meal was fantastic. A little pricey, but excellent food and service. Staff was very attentive. Prime rib was perfect. Husband and I split the 16 oz which worked out perfectly. Salad is extra and smallest 'dinner' salad is $8. Though was large enough to split and was very fresh. Table bread is warm and super good! We did adventure out for our last evening and both wished we would have went to the grill instead.
Had been here for lunch earlier in day and it was great. Returned for dinner had Prime Rib Special and a Prix dinner. Was very disappointed could not substitute for mashed potatoes since I have milk allergy. Waitress did not even offer to check so disappointing.
