We enjoyed our dinner from the atmosphere to the amazing food!
Very good service as always. Very welcoming spirit
Hidden away little gem, glad we found it....will definitely be back!!
Beautiful view of the sunset. Prices a bit too high for the food. However the food was delicious. Waitress was wonderful. Would suggest the restaurant replace their tables and chairs. Should be in better condition for the type of restaurant.
Very cool/chic upscale place with patio seating overlooking the marina. Service was excellent, food was very good. Setting was perfect. Only downside I would mention is drinks are expensive for what you get. $18 for a gin and tonic, I’m expecting to taste some gin. Stick to beer or get a bottle of wine for a better value. Overall had a great time, would recommend.
Quality food and service with an amazing view. Must try the Monkfish!
My strip steak was cooked to perfection! Absolutely delicious!
Gorgeous views of the water. Food good. Terrible techno / house music that is so loud. Service is cheerful and nice.
What an outstanding and inviting place. Entrees were a bit slow but everything else was perfect. Highly recommend.
Fabulous food; especially the scallop ceviche! Under staffed and tragically overpriced
A nice place to be someone who enjoys dim lighting, and really good food. I was looking for a place that could accommodate several people with different palates and have different items on the menu. The restaurant is not easily seen from the main road. There is a large deep parking lot that leads to the waterfront and as you approach the place, there is a large neon like "41" on the upper left side of the restaurant.
Veronica was our server, but she felt like part of our group. She is from Newport and she has the innocence and demeanor to make a perfect dining experience. She also has the experience in customer service to allay concerns or discomfort anyone may have. She is a savvy as she is sweet. You can tell her sweetness comes naturally and she can probably convinced you to try everything on the menu. That's the mark of great service.
We ordered one of the seafood towers with an assortment of lobster, clams, oysters and shrimps. All were very fresh. The crabcakes were amazing along with the scallops in a delicious broth. I shared the 30 day aged 32oz ribeye, and we also had several sides including mashed potatoes, sauteed spinach and grilled mushrooms. The mushrooms were incredibly delicious. The mash and spinach held their own as well. My party of 7 tried several cocktails that were all well prepared. Finally had the chocolate lava and creme brulee desserts were ordered reluctantly. Now imagine noone had room for dessert but in the end there was nothing left. By the time I wanted to try the chocolate lava, it was already gone.
I can imagine in the middle of summer how this place is packed with dining customers. I would highly recommend this place especially during sunset. It will set the mood for the entire evening, especially if you are fortunate to have Victoria with you.
We had a special occasion Sunday lunch at The Grill after a graduation. Our seating was fabulous but the food was just okay. Menu was very limited, service was not that great. The servers were professional and polite but didn't explain the menu or seem to know much about the items on it. She didn't even explain that we were still within the "brunch" menu time, so no one knew we had a larger menu to choose from. The lounge and bar are great, the outdoor patio is great, but I won't return to this restaurant.
Sons college graduation
A night out for my husbands birthday.. a night to remember with absolutely delicious steaks done to perfection.. extensive wine list and one of the most tasty creme brûlée’s we have had.. being here a little off season denied us dining Al Fresco but the dining room is very tasteful and we truly enjoyed the experience.
Disappointing. I rarely, if ever, complain about value. In this case, however, the value just was not there. The food was ok, although my companion's scallops gave her some distress later. This place is very expensive and it was just not worth it. There are more expensive places in Newport that are worth every penny.
Great food and views
Service was horrible. E.g., desert arrived 20 minutes after we finished coffee.
Christian was an excellent waiter. He was very attentive and when we asked questions about an ingredient in a drink or food, had a complete knowledge of it. I had the scallops which were amazing. My daughter had the filet and my husband had the monk fish chop. We were visiting for an anniversary/Mother’s Day weekend trip and will definitely go back next time we’re in Newport. Beautiful sunset view too!
Enjoyed our dinner and surprised in some ways. Had been while since we were there and was still early
in the season ... but the food was exceptional and in some cases surprising. For example the Pork Chop was delicious ... but "Pork Chop" does not really describe it. Its a bone in pork belly chop ... and that's a whole different thing. Heard another customer disappointed but I think it was expectation. The squid Ink pasta was very good. Had some very good oysters ... but the surprise was the "ice" mignonette sauce. Wonderful ...
We went for an Anniversary brunch and it was spectacular! My partner had the caviar omelette and I, the sausage and amazingly caramelized onion omelette and both were wonderful, and to end our meal we were treated to coconut with grilled pineapple cake, as a gift from the restaurant.
I’m so happy we chose to go there to celebrate!
Loved our lunch here!!! Delicious and beautiful!!!
Cheerful, accommodating, and professional staff. Meal was perfectly prepared and nice presentation. Was a repeat visit for us.
The view and ambiance are terrific but I think something was off with the service. Our server never asked my husband how he wanted his steak cooked or whether we wanted sauce. Another table close to us was having issues with the same server. We were in town for the weekend and were excited to eat here but not sure I would go back with so many other options.
We were planning on heading out to a nice birthday dinner. The restaurant is beautiful and great ambience, but we were wildly unimpressed with the food. Our scallop ceviche had great flavor but the amount of spice in it made it almost inedible and I ran out of water which was not filled. For dinner we got the tuna and squid ink pasta, neither of which was fresh. We ended up skipping out on dessert to head somewhere else.
amazing food and service. We went for Easter dinner with my family and my sister and niece. We ordered appetizers and a huge seafood platter. It was so fresh and beautiful and delicious, we couldn't finish our meals. The room they put us in for 8 people was the wine room, and it was private and classy, and gorgeous, and tucked away. But they did not forget about us at all-very attentive staff!
the improved quality of the food and level of service continue -FANTASTIC!! You're becoming a favorite place to dine (you were already one of the prettiest and most sophisticated places for a drink). Keep up the GREAT work.
Wonderful experience. Service was friendly and attentive, food fresh, hot, and flavorful. And coffee was superb.
Great setting for a waterfront meal. The scallop stew and the beef were excellent, but the grey sole was disappointing and the service was average. However, the ambience more than compensated.
We were there for restaurant week. Very good meal in a beautiful room.
Wonderful experience for our group of eight.
Food was delicious and space elegant. I believe the regular menu would be too expensive for us normally.
Great food, lovely service and a nice setting. A bit loud but overall great buzz!
I made a reservation for my Fiancee and me for after I proposed to her earlier in the day. We advised that we were celebrating and they brought us some champagne on the house which was delightful! We had a wonderful view of the sunset over the Newport Bridge while we were dining. We had a half dozen oysters and the champagne mignonette was awesome! Our food was cooked to perfection, we ordered cocktails which were also excellent. All of our servers were very attentive and really set the bar for how to treat their guests. We had a really enjoyable experience and will be back!
We had a great lunch here overlooking the water during restaurant week! The food was delicious and the portions generous – a delight!
Enjoyed a lunch special with excellent menu, food and atmosphere. Lovely venue.
We went to The Grill during restaurant week for lunch and it was excellent. Newport is an amazing get away and The Grill is just another outstanding dining experience that one can enjoy. The wait staff was very attentive and the food was very good. We will definitely go back there to enjoy dinner at some time in the near future!
Ours was a family lunch date this past Friday afternoon.
It was our first time at this spot and the three of us were warmly welcomed to enjoy the phenomenal water views. Everyone was exceptionally attentive and helpful in answering questions. It happened to be Newport Restaurant Week thus, we took advantage of the luncheon special. All three of us opted for the New Bedford seafood stew which was beyond delicious. The salmon was selected for the entree which included the kale salad with the miso crumb topping. Don’t think I’ve ever had kale salad prepared so well. Such a simple meal but nonetheless exceptionally prepared! Hats off to the executive chef!
The service was top notch. We enjoyed the experience and have already spread the word in regards to this gem. Will definitely return and look forward to doing so.
The view is gorgeous, the restaurant is gorgeous, but unfortunately the sun shines very bright into the windows, so for a 530-715pm meal we had to wear sunglasses the whole time. Recommend a thin shade to cover it. Also the waitress didn’t tell us sides were al a cart so we had to order more after our meal was already delivered. Food and atmosphere was amazing. Will definitely go back.
Went for brunch
Everything was amazing esp the lemon ricotta pancakes
Birthday dinner was absolutely perfect
