The Grill at Calvary Chapel of Fort Lauderdale Ratings and Reviews
We made a reservation via opentable for 7:30pm for a larger group. When we arrived they told us the kitchen would close in 30min. We talked to the manager, but it was waste of time. They should not have accepted the reservation in the first place if they close that early. It caused us a big headache to find another place nearby with such a big group.
Our hostess greeted us and was very gracious as he escorted us to our table. Our table for twelve was set up beautifully as requested. The atmosphere was very relaxed, the waitress took our orders brought them back in a timely fashion. I ordered the Bang Bang shrimp which were amazing!!! Other guests ordered brunch items and loved everything. Can't wait to return!!
I always like to eat at the Grill but it was my first reservation in advance, due to Christmas Eve's event. I really wanted to postpone the time of the reservation to 930 instead of 900, so I wouldn't have to interrupt the Christmas celebration service and go for dinner. They said it was not possible because the restaurant would be very busy at 930 pm. I was surprised the restaurant was only half_full. That made me feel a little disappointed about the service. They had the TVs in a low volume but at least I was able to watch the end of the service. The food was delicious, as always.
I eat here many times during the week but without my wife. Its mostly with my men's group. You might consider adding a fish sandwich (on the menu years ago). How about a veggie burger? Every restaurant has something for a veggie person except the Grill. She can't eat cheese pizza & salads every visit so we pass & eat elsewhere. Fish dinner is good but we cannot afford $18 per person. Potential (4) person check would probably be $40-$50 or more with each visit. Your gross sales revenue would greatly increase since most vegetarian families eat where everyone can dine. As a family we eat out after Saturday night service. We would love to continue this tradition at the Grill. Other families have also commented on your menu choices for their spouse or children. Please consider this request. Thank you.
We've been to the Grill several times, all before attending a performance. This occasion was very disappointing. The server brought the order and part was wrong. Instead of just bringing the correct side, he took away the whole thing to replace the incorrect item. It also took a long time to get condiments so we couldn't start eating.
Went with a lare group everyone loved their meal. I tried just about everyone's dinner and everything was amazing. I cannot wait to go back the only difficult thing will be deciding what to order because everything was so good. The best dinning experience I had in a long time.
I made reservations for Mother's Day not realizing they only had a brunch option. When we got there the restaurant looked pretty nice but then we were taken into the back room where it looked like it was set up for a wedding...literally with numbers on the table and everything. We got seated at a very large round table and was very impersonal. The food was average, not many options. The desserts didn't taste very fresh.
The restaurants menu sounds very tasty, perhaps brunch just isn't there thing. Disappointed.
The Mother's Day brunch was terrific. The only criticism is that the eggs frittata was cold.
We go to eat many times after the Sunday service. I miss the chicken wings that are only served on lunch menu. Also my favorite Tuscan chicken sandwich was removed from the menu. The breakfast choices are great!
We ordered the Brussels sprouts which were really good. They had the chicken coconut curry soup, which is my wife's favorite. We both enjoyed that a lot. We split the salmon, which was right on the verge of being overcooked. It was still good, but The edges of the fish were charred, and the color of the fish indicated that it was on the grill or in the broiler just slightly longer than it should've been. I'm guessing this was due to the busyness of the kitchen-they probably had so much going on that they couldn't get back to every dish in a reasonable amount time to check on it. Like I said, it was still good, but in my opinion it was not up to the standard of this restaurant. The kitchen staff should have known better than to serve something that wasn't up to their standard -and should have started over.
I don't mean to be harsh. It's just that I eat here so often, that I know what their food is usually like, so I feel I need to hold them to a higher standard.
The Grill at Calvary Chapel is open to the public and serves lunch on Sunday, breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday, and breakfast, lunch and dinner Tuesday through Friday and dinner on Saturdays. The restaurant menu, service and decor will absolutely exceed your expectations, they have private dining rooms for corporate and family functions. If you haven't been to The Grill at Calvary Chapel, you have to try it!
This restaurant is not visible from the main entrance. I was with a disabled person with a walker. We exited the car at the main circle and had to ask people how to get to the restaurant. There was one sign when there should have been several to direct us around corners. It was so far my companion had to stop to rest. Had we known there was parking in the closer to the restaurant we would have used it. Please add that to the restaurant information. Food good. Prices reasonable. Portions large. Cafeteria ambiance. Noise level was high so difficult to converse.
The restaurant has booths and tables a bar area and bigger space in the back for a bigger group- I had made reservation for 7, but ended up having a group of 15 ppl, and the staff accommodated for us by putting us in the bigger room, which was great. Our server was attentive & very helpful explaining the menu.
I had the Grilled Chicken Sandwich which has white Cheddar, red onion jam, arugula, truffle aioli, I find very good. They didn’t have pink lemonade, but the server made me a raspberry lemonade which was just as good. The group had mixed dishes and they all loved their meals. I also ordered the White & Dark Chocolate Brownie A La Mode for desserts and was a great size. I had three of my guest help me eat it. I wished they had more of a choice for the children’s menu, but overall it was a great place to eat. I'd definitely return.
Not being part of this church, we found the setting quite unique. Service was very accommodating and friendly. But food was nothing special and certainly not good enough to rate this restaurant in the top ten places to eat in Fort Lauderdale. The service was playing on the many TVs in the restaurant which was unexpected and didn't allow for much table conversation.
We booked a table for eight through the 'open table' online option and were able to include any specific requests so, the hostess phone me concerning these and was very accommodating both then and later when the group number changed in size to 10 requiring a different table configuration, etc. The manager was just awesome and made herself available from the first moment to ensure we liked the arrangement and location. Our server was also super efficient and friendly. The restaurant is beautifully and elegantly decorated, with somewhat low lighting which adds a sense of privacy and warmth. All of us had different orders and on different checks. Everyone was very pleased with their selection but special mention goes to the wings, and Mac and cheese dishes.
This restaurant is part of a church but anyone is welcome - no alcohol served.
