Food was excellent. Duck fat fries a must. The soups are uniquely creative and delicious. Pork belly incredible. Great vegetarian options. I do wish the ambience was not quite so dark. Nonetheless, a One of a kind modern-creative restaurant in the region. Bravo

I always have a great experience at The Grey Plume. They combine local ingredients in a way that seems refined and rustic at the same time. Always get the soup! During this visit I had a play on French Onion soup that was AMAZING.

The Grey Plume was the perfect place to go for a first date! Great food, great atmosphere, good service with the exception that the waitress seemed to want to rush us and take food away before we finished.

This is a beautiful, well-curated restaurant serving locally-sourced food in delightful, inventive, but still comforting dishes. Acting as a hub for local food producers, artisans, and craftsmen, The Grey Plume presents and sells local Nebraska/Iowa products with pride. We celebrated my husband's birthday here and were blown away by the attention to detail, excellent level of service, and the elevated ambiance. We look forward to our next visit.

We did the four course tasting menu with wine pairings. It was phenomenal! There was a small hiccup in the service with a longer gap between the appetizer and soup, but nothing an extra glass of wine couldn’t fix. Highly recommended

We travel a lot, so we don’t get to come to Omaha very often, but we always make it a point to visit Grey Plume. We absolutely LOVE Chef Clayton Chapman and his restaurant.

The craft menu is unique and offers a collection of fantastic choices that make it all too easy to order lots of items - which we always seem to do.

We especially love the charcuterie board - which we think may be the best in the world!! And don’t forget to save room for the hot chocolate and duck fat donut!!! Wow!

We absolutely love this place!!

Great wait and bus staff. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Food was good. Our squash soup had great flavor, but I think they salted it twice. We had the 4 course tasting menu and it filled us up. Great variance in flavors. For the price, having just eaten at Tinto, Garces Trading Company, and Abe Fisher in Philadelphia, was a little steep for the meal we purchased. Would eat here again, but would not do the tasting menu.

Lovely meal. We had a great time. Nice to meet the Chef as we exited for the evening. A lot of nice touches during the evening made it special. Book early on open table if you want specific dates and times.

Very nice setting although somewhat loud for fine dining. Service was excellent and timing and pace of courses was great. The menu is fairly limited but very interesting. The food was exceptional, complex with many flavors and perfectly prepared. The only disappointment was with the bill. It is expensive but we don't mind that, happy to pay it. The big disappointment was a required 20% gratuity (party of 2) and clear expectation of more. Price inflation takes care of increasing the gratuity without a percentage increase. Plus we like to reward good service with a voluntary generous tip. Would be a 4 or 5 star without this.

Very few things in life live up to the expectation. The Grey Plume certainly did. Chef Clayton's food was second to none and his entire staff were friendly, knowledgeable and eager to serve. The ambiance was perfect for a quiet evening out with that special someone but would have been just as satisfying if it were a group of friends out for a modern/creative meal and drinks. We were lucky enough to reserve seating on the 7th Anniversary of the restaurant and were treated to a few extra tastes on the house - very classy. My wife & I have already referred several friends & family members and will definitely be coming back for more...

Went for our anniversary dinner. I’d been before and loooooved everything. Highly recommended for foodies. I approve of the tip share approach, too.

This visit was disappointing, though. The server seemed new and nervous and awkward, but that happens. I’d mentioned in my reservation that we had a few special diets, which had been graciously accommodated in the past, but no mention was made of the note by the server. When I asked for a vegan option I was told there was one entree and no starter, that I could have bread. The service was off all night, awkward and slow (forgot a drink, brought out bread/drinks way late).

Everyone else loved their food and had plenty, but I left still hungry. Maybe it just isnt a great place for vegans? The server was super awkward about the included gratuity. Does it have to be verbally conveyed? We were happy to pay it but it felt like being read a legal disclaimer.

Having loved this place in the past and endlessly recommended it to folks, I was super disappointed that it just missed the mark on this occasion. I will still recommend to foodie and meat eaters but not vegans.

We found Grey Plume online with many positive reviews. The menu looked great so we decided to give it a try for a romantic date night. It was a wonderful meal! The appetizer, entrees, and desert were all top notch. We also had a couple of their specialty cocktails which were delicious as well. Looking forward to another meal here.

Most of the food we ordered was excellent. My only complaint was that I ordered something the kitchen was out of and rather than ask my preference, the chef substituted for me. His choice was to send gnocchi in butternut squash creme in lieu of butternut squash ravioli. I don't love gnocchi and despite my high tolerance for salt, I thought the dish was very salty. Everything else was wonderful.

Duck fat fries were great, chartuterie plate for $22 didn't have a lot of meat and geese it was flavorful. Entrees were good but the wine selection was disappointing and pricey for a glass. They put a $20 gratuity regardless of cost and then they add a row for additional tip. Snobby foodies will likely love it haha

Life is too short and I'm too busy to put in bad reviews. But I'll make an exception. Had heard many good things about the place. Very disappointed. A calm Wednesday night. High-end guy from out of town in for a business meal. Waitress was a very quiet Cocker. Could barely hear her. Repeatedly asked to speak up. Tried to order an appetizer – they were out. Tried to order an entrée – they were out. Ordered a replacement dish. Maybe 3 ounces of fish tops. Tasted OK for an appetizer. My guest ordered coffee – took 15 minutes. The topper – bill came and tip was already added in on a dinner for two bill. Won't be back.

Lovely setting but then flowers on table they were mostly dead and the vase was dirty and filled with stagnant water— that should have been a hint of what my dinner would be like. In other words...proper attention to details was missing.
The carbonara spaetzle (Happy Hour Menu) was provocative but had too many flavors to form any type of palate pleaser. The sherbet was cold but the melon balls were warm. My Wagyu loin steak ($48) came out medium well instead of medium rare but the exceptional server whisked it away and had them prepare a new one. When it did come back there were too many sauces on the meat and the accompaniments to fully enjoy the flavor of the meat. The dessert menu was interesting but too avantgarde for me...cedar ice cream? I like cedar in my closet but not in my mouth.

Although I have eaten at this restaurant before, it seems the food has gone dramatically downhill. Although the appetizers were OK, the rest of the dinner was very bad. We had a corn chowder that had a salty metallic taste and was inedible. The salad had a very unpleasant sour dressing. For the main course we got the beef collar. The sauce was sharp and inappropriate, the meat was tough and it was served with dry wilted cauliflower. We also tried the rigatoni which was a bizarre combination of two sour sauces, also inedible. I have never put a bad review of any restaurant before or sent food back to the kitchen. In this case the soup and both main dishes we tried were inedible.

We ordered the charcuterie board which was very good. One thing they do that I like is the bread is in thin round crisps of which there are plenty for the plate. To compare, one place nearby, gave us three pita triangles for a party of four. What are we supposed to do , draw straws? We were disappointed to see a favorite pasta dish (agnolotti?) was gone. So I went with the rigatoni which looked very small when it arrived but was actually dense and filling and delicious. My wife ordered the pork tasting. I had ordered this in the past and wasn't wowed by it but this particular iteration (they change presentations frequently) was fantastic. Seriously, if I could just get a large plate of the pork belly, I probably wouldn't order anything else. Our server was pleasant, funny and knowledgeable, no issues there. The only thing that caused to downgrade from five stars was the pecan pie. It would have been fine if it was actually a pecan pie but instead came in three small deconstructed dollops including one pecan and was grossly overpriced. My wifes creme brulee on the other hand was fantastic.

Our server was very friendly and great at his job. I booked a reservation for my girlfriend's birthday and they had a card signed by the staff on the table for her. We got a five course meal and the server explained each one as it came and all were outstanding! The wine list is amazing but a bit overpriced. I would not recommend for casual dining, but the Grey Plume is amazing, the staff cares, and the experience is a must - especially if you go for a special occasion.

It has a stellar reputation, but we found the service to be slow and the food inconsistent. Drinks are outrageously priced.... $13 for a very small margarita?!? $16 for a glass of house red wine?!?
If you do go, the charcuterie is a standout.... has some wonderful house made pates, salamis, jams and mustards, and a nice variety of local cheeses.

We keep giving them a chance, but each time we're disappointed. When you pay $300 for dinner for two, it should be exceptional. We tried their new tasting menu. My wife asked for hot tea. After asking 3 times it finally arrived at the one hour point after the second course - cold. I ordered the wine pairing. With a 5 course meal, only three wines arrived. Two were the same, and none were introduced. 5 different wait staff brought entrees, and only one entree was explained. No one was in charge. The rigatoni was boring. The chicken was overcooked. The beef was tough. Shortly after the fifth course arrived, they brought the check. No asking if we'd like coffee or anything else. We were courtrous and polite throughout, but It was like they couldn't wait to get rid of us. When compared to similar restaurants that do tasting menus, like V Mertz and Dolche, they are utterly outclassed.
