Love Tessa as our waitress. Very informative and attentive Remembered me from the last time I was there 6 moths ago. Loved the chefs dinner with wine pairings. All the food was excellent, except the fowl dish. Served it on the bone which was difficult to eat and slightly dry. Not terrible, just not exceptional or diner friendly.
Would go back for Tessa!
Dinner was amazing, mostly because of my dining companion. She is the most beautiful woman I've ever seen and anytime she is with me it's a memorable experience. We both enjoyed the food thoroughly and will definitely be back!
Absolutely amazing experience! This is our second time to the restaurant and it was even better than our first experience, which we thought was not possible! We brought a couple with us, and it was their first time dining here. They commented they just couldn't believe when eating potato soup, that you could experience so many different flavors in one bite! The main course dishes we each had were beyond words delicious! We were sad when it ended.
If you're looking for an elegant, cozy, relaxing atmosphere, very warm and inviting with the best food your palate has come across, then visit The Grey Plume!! A gem in Omaha for sure!!
I’d eaten here twice before and had very good experiences. This time I was alone, opted for a light meal of two appetizer items, and planned on dessert. Hadn’t remembered how limited the menu is. Ordered duck fat fries (at $11.00) and a beef tartare. When they arrived the fries were soggy and relatively tasteless. I’ve had great duck fat fries before, these were a big disappointment. “Where’s the flavor?” I kept asking myself. The tartare looked great on the plate but was likewise lackluster as far as flavor goes. Just as I was about to order a crème brûlée for dessert the server told me they were out of that item, and no other option appealed so I passed. On a quiet Friday night ( the restaurant was at most at 50% occupancy at 7:30 ) you’re telling me that one of only 4 dessert choices is unavailable? C’mon...
It’s a nice few rooms, the noise level is where I like it to be (low!), but the culinary experience was sorely lacking.
The NYE Experience was honestly the worst dining experience I have had in a long time. For $125 per person and automatic 20% gratuity (really? For just two people and there really is no interaction with the waiting staff...) I could have gone to a restaurant elsewhere and actually filled up on food I enjoyed. I didn't see any information relevant to the pricing beforehand either, which awesome!
If you enjoy being fed 1.5 ounces of mediocre (excluding the elk dish) food six times over the span of four hours, then this is your best bet! So unhappy and I'm now out $400, love it. /s
This was a NYE price fix 6-course menu. Overall, the food was excellent as was the service. Value for the money, however, was not there overpriced by nearly double the competition and portions were small, some would say tiny, bordering on pretentious; especially for Omaha. Very nice to do it once, but will stick to drinks and appetizers here if we’re ever in the area again.
I thought the service could have been better. The server really did not engage us much. I think they were too busy. Also, it took forever to get our payment processed. My wife’s meal, the pasta, was so-so. I got the pork tasters and I thought the pork loin was a bit dry but overall we had a pleasurable experience.
I so badly want to love this place but both times we have gone the experience was not great.
We made a reservation on open table and it said there was just a 5 pm left open for the whole evening. When we arrived at 450 no one was ready for us and the place was completely empty and remained almost empty until 630.
We had written in advance that there was one vegan. When we went to order they only offered one option which was just cooked vegetables with a tomato sauce. No grains no and no protein and nothing special. There was however a nice lavender soda.
My partner had the pheasant and it was dry and had the exact same vegetables as in my dish. No vegan options for desert either. Just expected more from this place. I like the eco friendly aspect but felt the food was no different than what I could whip up in a skillet for myself. Had been to Au Courant in Benson this past week as well and it far surpassed my expectations as did the Monarch.
Sorry to say we won't go back to Grey Plume.
Food was very disappointing. Everyone got the same sides and they were very messily presented and one note (flavor wise). There are too many other good options in Omaha to waste time on this place again.
The Grey Plume was amazing! We had an amazing view of the kitchen which was wonderful to watch, the six course meal was excellent, the waiter was very professional, and the bartender was able to make specialty drink for non-alcohol drinkers. I will definitely be coming back!
Celebrated our anniversary as we have the last several years here. Strted with great craft cocktails at the bar. I enjoyed the TD Niche Heritage pork, nicely presented with the pork prepared several ways. My wife had the Roast Pheasant, which she enjoyed immensely. We started with the Morgan Ranch Wagyu Beef Tartare, I could have made a meal out of several servings of this. All in all another memorable evening at Grey Plume
Always an amazing time. A real example of perfection. Amazing food, great service. Can't thank the Chef enough for the experience.
Great wine selections
Wait staff outstanding 😊😊
Beautiful restaurant, very good service, but we were disappointed in the entree quality - one of us had the pork, and the loin was very gristley, and the sausage was dry and unexpectedly spicy. For the price paid, we expected better. Pheasant was delicious but hard to eat. The soup and salad were wonderful. Overall a nice place to try - very unique and very different.
We had a gift certificate from our son & daughter-in-law that was about to expire. So, we made a reservation. It’s a wonderful place to eat for special occasions....it’s just cost prohibitive for us to eat there with any kind of regularity.
Wonderful food and creative pairings. Restaurant was quite cold so be prepared in winter months. No soft drinks on menu which was frustrating only because my guest wanted to have a long island iced tea.
The ingredients were fresh. The wine was excellent. We all felt that there too many favors on the plate. My husband ordered the trout and although there were favors on the skin, the fish itself was not tasty. My daughter's steak was good. I had the Agnolotti which was not cooked enough. There were so many favors that I had a hard time deciding what I was eating. The restaurant decor is lovely. I usually tip at 20% so this was not a problem. Overall, I can cook so when I go out, I like to be super impressed. The food was good but not outstanding.
Clayton and the team were over the top creating a wonderful and memorable experience. From the littlest of details to the overall setting we could not have asked for more. Fabulous food, great service and wine.
Thanks all, we will return - often.
I try not to be too critical, but our experience with this restaurant, and specifically the food, was quite disappointing. The simplest way to say it is that each protein in the entrees that night were served with the same accompaniments that included a heaping portion of an overpowering garlic puree and a few other random items like apples cut with a melon baller. Lets just say I have to question a chef that will serve whole trout, pheasant, pork and other proteins with the exact same accompaniments with no thought given to whether those ingredients make sense with the preparation of the protein. Over-hyped food for sure.
The chef prepared a special vegan dish for our whole party it was delicious, but less than filling. It would have been great if some sort of grain or polenta had been included. Overall it was a great experience! Would love to see some vegan options on the menu.
Always reliable and delicious. The heritage pork sampler is always a standout, as is the steelhead trout, both served with seasonal vegetables and special touches. I have Celiac Disease and the fact that everything here is from scratch makes it easy to have options. The butternut squash soup currently on the menu is fantastic.
The food was unique and original. The flavors all blended together to complement each other. Great service.
My wife and I came here for our 5th anniversary and absolutely loved our experience. Cheese plate + foie gras, 4 course meal + wine pairings... sheer perfection all around. Great food, great staff, and an all around wonderful experience! Will be back!
The food is always spot on. Love the Chacuterie Board Offerings.
We ate at the Grey Plume last year, and we loved the food and ambiance. We do not live in Omaha, but my husband wanted to go back this year for his birthday when we were visiting friends. We were very disappointed in the food--the pasta was a cheesy mess, the pheasant tasted like chicken and was tough and difficult to eat, etc. On the whole not the creative, wonderful flavors and preparation we experienced the last time. The service was indifferent. Very sorry to that we did not spend the significant TEMP_OC_CONTENT_HERE#039;s we spent on the meal elsewhere.
My husband and I ate here during restaurant week and the food as part of the tasting menu was awesome. Duck fries with Waygu beef cheek added was so good. Duck fat donut for dessert was probably best donut I’ve had in years. We brought a bottle of wine from home that they decanted; corkage was reasonable.
We are long time fans of Clayton and his entire staff! Foie Gras, entire style is my “go to” order while my wife varies her order. I have, over the years, savored at least 50 variations of foie gras entrees, w/o a single repeat! Now that, my friends is creativity! Creativity is the Grey Plume’s imprimatur! It exists in everything they do, from their signature coctails to their Duck Fat popcorn! A big bravo to Clayton and his staff!
My husband and I went here for the first time during Omaha Restaurant Week for our very first wedding anniversary. It was a wonderful experience, and we will be going back! We have already referred several friends!
Clayton and team did a stellar job for Omaha Restaurant Week — $50 menu a terrific value and as great a meal as we’ve ever had at the Plume! Wine pairings reasonably priced and terrific, well chosen.
Fantastic as always.
This was our first visit to the Grey Plume. Our experience was fabulous. Everything we ordered was outstanding. Our server was knowledgeable and had great recommendations. I personally enjoyed the Coho Salmon special and the rest of our party had the Wagu beef. Delicious!!! We will definitely be back.
Food and service were excellent. Only complaint is the restaurant week menu options were not very clear and required clarifying questions.
Great food and service. Heather is the consummate hostess and our server Chelsea was very attentive.
While celebrating our anniversary, this restaurant was quite beautiful. We had the 3 course meal which started out great until my soup was brought out. Halfway through the soup, I decided I didn't want anymore, so as I pushed the bowl to the side I noticed something that appeared to be hanging off the side. Once I picked the bowl up, I saw clear that a spider was hanging from a web attached to my bowl. When I pointed this out to the waitress, her response was....oh look at the little spider and then she took the bowl away. No apology, or anything. After 20min, I asked for the manager and asked was she made aware of the spider on my soup bowl, she said no and then gave a very passive apology. It was not the service I expected from a restaurant of this kind, or any restaurant. I can't say I will be returning.
This restaurant is special. They do pretty much everything from scratch with fresh local food. The flavors are always amazing. And now that I am Celiac, I love that they take care and also provide Gluten Free bread before dinner. One of the best restaurants in town.
We did the 6-course tasting menu. Was not all that impressed with the dishes but appreciated the ambiance and service.
We received a gift certificate to go to Grey Plume. Our food was very good. However, we did not need to spend 2.5 hours there for 2 courses. We had not expected 20% to be automatically added to the bill as house policy no matter how many people were at your table. The cheese plate as an appetizer provided us with cheeses we would not have otherwise have tasted. It was a quiet night as most people were at the Huskers game that was unfortunately rained out.
Charcuterie was wonderful, as was foie gras appetizer. Chicken was the best I’ve ever had it there. I appreciated how we could choose our own sides to go with our entre.
Had a 5:45 reservation and it was pleasantly quiet until about 6:45, when it started getting awfully loud. I will go even earlier next time because I enjoy less noise.
We definitely plan to go back!
The experience blew all expectations out of the water. The tasting menu was a great way to try a bit of everything, and Heather was amazing in showing us the way of the wine. She was very knowledgeable and upbeat. I will definetly be back soon! Keep up the amazing work!
