The Greens at Copake Country Club is situated at the base of the Berkshire and Catskill Mountains overlooking the vistas of Copake Lake. The Greens serves dinner with the facilities to host weddings and private parties. Stop by for a drink after a round of golf or for a full meal to enjoy the view and the classic comfort food.
A classic American menu at The Greens serves well known staples as well as fun new dishes. Start out with steamed Maine mussels or a baby arugula salad form Equinox Farms. Then fill your belly with a 12-oz. rib eye steak with broccoli rabe, a house made spinach fettuccine with a Herondale Farm lamb Bolognese or the tarragon and Dijon mustard roasted organic chicken with Yukon Gold mashed potatoes.
Fantastic food, excellent service. Can't ask for much more. It gets better every time we dine there!
Beautiful views, great to have a before dinner drink. Wine list very reasonably priced.
The Greens is one of our favorite local restaurants in the Eastern NY and Western Berkshires region. The CIA-educated chef is talented and serves imaginative meals with proper portions. We have never had a bad experience there.
Fantastic food all the time. Sit outside.
I love The Greens at Copake Country Club...it's a real destination restaurant with lovely views, great food, attentive staff....and the food is priced right. I never feel exploited!
Took my wife on a date - asked for a corner table insides and it was really really nice...good eats
The staff was very helpful and friendly, great meal..
It was our first time at this restaurant.
Except for the noisy children nearby, it was a very nice experience. We will go back again.
Solid seasonal food, lovely spot. We especially like lunch out on the patio.
excellent local spot w/ great food, service & scenic golf course/lake views.
All our 2nd choices were very good.
only drawback having to go to 2nd choices - disappointments; several of us wanted eggs benedict and/or beef hash w/ poached eggs and were told N.A. - at 1PM on a Sunday? Sold out? Nope; ran out of Hollandaise sauce! At 1PM during Sunday brunch?
Why not make some more chef??? Odd.
The food and the view were, as usual, outstanding. However, the service was not even close to what we usually experience at the Greens. You seem to have changed from a small, experience staff to a larger amateur group. Our waiter was very nice, but asked us how we were doing every 5 minutes, then wasn't around when we needed him. We got water immediately, but waited ten minutes before bread showed up. Neither the waiter, nor apparently the bartender could quite figure out my martini order, although the waiter seemed to know the wines better.
The low point of the evening came when one our our dinner guuests spilled his wine on the table. Althoug I waved my arms vigorously in their direction, neither the hostess, nor the young woman "helping " her gave any sign of recognition. This, in spite of the fact that the "helper" was staring right at me. A woman at the next table had to lend us her napkin while we cleaned the table. After it was all over, a busboy noticed something amiss and brought new napkins.
And one other small issue. Please teach youur staff how to pronounce the items on the menu. Our waiter not only fractured French terms, but a few English ones as well. It's a small matter, but it doesn't instill confidence in his knowledge of the food.
We love to dine on Thursday nights in the summer and listen to the live music.
Once again, we had a delicious meal at The Greens. We sat outside, overlooking the golf course and the lake. Because, both the bar and regular menus are availble, it was easy to satisfy all parties. From a chef's selection vegetarian plate, to a Herondale burger to inventive main fish courses -we were all pleased with our choices. We are so lucky to have such great dining at Copake Lake.
Great location, great service, I just wished more culinary inspiration came from the treasures surrounding the restaurant, i.e. the dozens of local farms producing seasonal wonders. Get inspired from what's in season and have some fun with the menu! It will be noticed!
I have been dining at the Greens for some seven years now and have never had a bad experience, the food is quite good and over the past year or so the kitchen has become more creative and adventuresome. The staff has always been friendly and helpful and have even indulged me with a table by the fireplace on Saturday afternoons when I have had a great deal of grading to do. The outside deck and screen porch are both wonderful fair weather locations and the fireplace on a cold night is a treat. Drinks are well proportioned and the wine list offers good selections for a variety of budgets.
We had very good meals and service in a comfortable scenic environment.
A minor item, the server thought Seagrams 7 was a bourbon. It still made a decent Mahattan.
Of a summer night, this is the place to be. The food and service are great and the destination setting overlooking Copake Lake and the great green expanse of hillside golf course cannot be beat. My halibut was fresh and tasty....
Always an enjoyable experience. Our waiter, Anthony, was terrific; the space is charming and the food is yummy.
The dining room is lovely and there are some tables on the patio.
My very particular dining friends really liked it. Note that creative seasonal cocktails are on the bar menu.
Kids no problem!
We'll be back.
The Greens did a friend's wedding last year and it was terrific!
Food quality and service was very poor, even though restaurant had very few tables. Menu lacks creativity . Have been there a few times and will not return.
