We enjoyed a wonderful meal before the Cavs game. Food recommendations from our server were excellent. The wings, lamb burger and rigatoni were outstanding. We enjoyed it and will definitely go back. The server was very janet knowledgeable and was very attentive. Oh and the popcorn custard was to die for. Homemade carmel sauce was perfect.
I rarely write reviews but this place was rough. Service was apathetic and uncomfortable. Food was small portions, even by American standards. I don’t mind spending good money for good food but this place simply takes your money and offers mediocrity.
We enjoyed the Greenhouse Tavern so much we brought a group of 10 back the next night. We are head over heels in love with the Chicken Wings and Brussel Sprouts. Chef Sawyer and team put out delicious food. The service was on point. Very friendly place to visit. Will definitely be back the next time we visit Cleveland.
Absolutely amazing!!! Loves every last little thing!!!!
SIT DOWNSTAIRS AND NOTE THAT MOST PEOPLE ORDER BURGERS
This restaurant has a foodie menu, and three very different eating areas. First, despite our reservation, we were offered a terrible table in the back corner, which we refused, and then walked by tons of empty tables in the restaurant proper. We were then put in the window, which I guess used to be a woolworths store window, looking out like zoo animals, horrible. Luckily, I went downstairs to the restrooms and discovered a row of seats and a communal dining table by the open kitchen. Luckily, they moved us there, where we enjoyed the better environment. Note though that this is not your usually foodie chefs table, you are surrounded by the standby boxes of produce and supplies, as well as the discarded shoes and backpacks of the staff on duty.
My friend ordered the only pork and shellfish free dish found, a pasta, which was too al dente and much too salty.
I ordered a strip steak which was expensive and just ok. The foodie fries were lukewarm.
We will not go back despite the entertaining view of the kitchen and a friendly server.
What a wonderful start to our Visit to Cleveland.
Food was great and service even better. Loved it!
Great service and ambiance of the restaurant. Food came out fast and everything was delicious! Our server was amazing and recommended wonderful dishes! We will definitely come back!!!
Fantastic food and atmosphere - tons of flavor and great menu. Drinks were fantastic as well. Seats in kitchen were really neat - those cooks/chefs are artists mad skills and really care about the details/meticulous. Make sure you ring the bell for them! Will definitely go back some day.
Arrived at the restaurant, gave OT reservation and they said they did not have it on record. Write note to OT with no response. Restaurant looked at us and said nothing they would do. Normally one of our favorite restaurants. This was an important night ultimately all screwed up.
Greenhouse could of cared less. Funny thing, in order to rate the restaurant this was a request from the OT system with the right date and time that the restaurant would not honor.
Great food. Great Server. Even excellent busboy. Best restaurant in Cleveland
The rumors are all correct. I've been told to visit Greenhouse Tavern forever and finally got around to doing it. Amazing food! Loved every course. The chicken wings melted in your mouth and had the perfect amount of spice. Each dish had such incredible flavors. Service was very casual but professional. Really friendly environment, would go back in a heartbeat.
The vegetable bolenase had no taste, appeared to have sat out on counter for a long time. Very little sauce. The rigatoni was dry. The tartare was wonderful. The clams were very few but the sauce was amazing with the clams foie gras. The pork chop was very salty. We had dinner here once before at the chefs table and loved it. This time the server was very slow, we had to get the manger for our drinks. With so many wonderful restaurants in Cleveland, we will not bring friends back here again.
Everything about GHT is & always will be spectacular. We celebrated my fiancé’s birthday on this trip. He had never been before, and I knew that it would be perfect. He left saying that it was the best food he’s ever had. One of the best spots in the city.
My daughter and I went for a late Saturday lunch. Neither of us were in the mood for egg-based "brunch" foods, so we both went with burgers. My beef burger was delicious. And she greatly enjoyed her veggie burger. We split an order of the brussel sprouts as a side, and it was amazing.
I'll definitely be back.
My friend is gluten-free decided to have dinner here. She doesn't eat pork and a lot of the gluten free options were things like pig ears and a hog head (people eat this stuff??). The food was very bland and the burger she ordered did not come with a gluten free bun. The waitress was very friendly but did not clear off the table until she seen me stacking up plates in preparation for dessert. On a positive note, the Brussel Sprouts, crispy wings, and pomme frites were great though. The crispy wings have this jalapeno salsa on them which should be bottled. I ordered the celery risotto but it was bland. I put some of the jalapeno salsa on it and was instantly delicious.
Having been to The Greenhouse Tavern many times, we expected an exemplary experience! We were quickly seated and John welcomed us! What a great guy! We stated that we are vegetarians and he was extremely knowledgeable on the food, as well as refreshments. John explained some nuances on the dishes we were interested in. We advised John that we were seeing a show and needed to be out by a certain time; he made sure we had a wonderful meal but not at all rushed. The dishes from start to finish (salad, small plate & dessert) were all fabulous. We will be returning often!!
Pretty crowded because it was opening day, but our waitress was great, beer selection was phenomenal and I got the fried chicken sandwich which was really good.
Never fails to disappoint. The chicken wings might be my favorite menu item from any restaurant. We had 3 orders of them. Amazing atmosphere, great prices. This really is a gem.
We have tried this restaurant a half dozen times and each time we were left "underwhelmed" Last night was no different. The short ribs were fatty and the duck was over-cooked.
No more visits for us.
The tartare was exceptional! Chicken was as well. My date had the lamb burger and was pleased with the cheese. Overall it was a great experience. Table was a bit small- but he food more than made up for it.
Alice is the best server in the tavern. She makes it worth coming back again and again.
I went to Greenhouse Tavern for my birthday and it was amazing! The fried Brussels were the best. I had the pork and pie which was very good. I can’t wait to go back.
The new menu sucks. The meals are too light and dont fill you up. The shank is way to big and is never cooked properly
Small portions for the price. Odd flavor pairings. Wings were overly salty.
Normally Greenhouse is my go to for Business lunches because it is close to work, and they have a great selection for everyone, and cater to having vegan options available. I ordered the eggplant hoagie, but specified that it be vegan if possible, knowing that the cheese and any sauces may not come with the hoagie. My waitress mentioned nothing about the sandwich not being available vegan, however did state that the plate would be served with a salad. Normally, I am fine with a side salad, as I know that most places shy away from offering fries, because a shared fryer is used. At Green House, I am more than okay with the side salad because the mustard vinaigrette is DELICIOUS. When our food was served I was very disappointed to find that my vegan sandwich was not served, rather a piece of eggplant with onions on top of it, next to my side salad. There was no mention from anyone that there would not be a sandwich involved, and honestly if I wanted a side salad with a piece of eggplant for $14, I would have ordered just that. In the past, when I asked for a vegan option, it has already been told to me that the cheese or sauce may be omitted. If a vegan option drastically changes the described meal on the menu, it would be nice to be notified prior to having the meal be served, I would have gladly ordered another option.
First time for brunch. Great as always.
Wonderful evening before the CAVS game!!
Oh gosh....what a find! Service was fabulous. Our waiter was so good I was thinking he was the owner. Food was "stupid good!" Seriously. Atmosphere was Gangs of New York meets Meet Me At St. Louis.
I was here on St Patrick's day. It was a first time here. Highly recommend reservation thru open table if potentially a crowded day. The clams, no name frites and popcorn dessert we're all awesome !
Amazing food, great vibe, great drinks.
The menu looked like a foodie's paradise. but honestly they didn't meet the hype. Pork chop was picked at. the duck dish was cold and over salted. I had to return the duck to heat it up a bit. they tried but didn't meet the mark. for 4 people it would have been nice to have a warning that the boudin balls appetizer was only 3. Just kind of disappointing.
Service was excellent, all the recommendations for the food and wine were great. I highly recommend
I was extremely disappointed in the food - not sure if maybe there was some turnover in the kitchen? Starting with the Mimosa, the sparkling wine was flat. Food, the wings were cold and looked old, also they were the smallest wings i have ever seen. Moving on to main, i ordered the popcorn french toast. No clue what makes it popcorn? The french toast was literally hamburger buns and they were burnt. There was a strong soap/chemical taste as well - perhaps the flattop was just cleaned? I literally spit out my bite and couldnt get the soap taste out of my mouth. The manager was nice and removed it from the bill but I decided not to order anything else considering how bad it was. I would never recommend or return.
The experience was great and the food was delicious, but both entrees were overly salty.
Everything was too salty. Some food wasn't the right temperature. Really a disappointment.
Food is delicious. Service is spectacular.
The food and drinks are amazing. I love this restaurant!
Always wonderful and a menu that is always changing with the seasons. The new boudin balls are a great addition. I hadn't had the rigatoni until this visit and it is our of this world. My guests are vegetarians and there are many, many choices for vegetarians and vegans.Service is very friendly, personable and very knowledgable.
Root vegetable soup and roasted Brussels sprouts were killer.
The best food, in a comfortable atmosphere. What more could you want?
