The Greenfield Restaurant
Perfect place to celebrate my mother’s 92 birthday. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. We’ve never been disappointed. The chef even wished my mother a happy birthday.
It was wonderful being able to take my 89 year old father to brunch at what has been one of our family's favorite restaurants in the area. We enjoyed being there and the food/menu was great!!
This place is always top notch. The food is delicious and impeccably prepared. The atmosphere is lovely and service was very good as well. We had a large group of 7 some who never experienced the PA Dutch area and being from NYC truly enjoyed the food, service and the interesting story of the chef. Will definitely come back again.
Excellent. Nice setting and fantastic food
We visit The Greenfield whenever we are in Amish Country and have never been disappointed. This time we dined mid-week so the dining area was relatively quiet and moderately full. The sweet potato soup was delicious and the salads which come with the meals are nice. The crab cakes are generously stuffed with basically only crab meat-YUM. The herb lamb was cooked as requested and was tasty and tender enough to cut with a fork. The portions are good. The vegetables were the only disappointing part of the meal, little taste and some were overcooked and others undercooked. If you have any room left for dessert you will most likely not be disappointed. I noted on the Open Table reservation that it was our anniversary and both the host and server wished us a Happy Anniversary. Overall the quality and quantity are in line with the cost of the food.
Our Waiter was excellent and the host was very good and very nice. It has a nice atmosphere. Disappointed with the food, though. What we ordered was not very good. Ordered salad with shrimp. Super small salad for 25.00 and the shrimp was awful. Although the entrees other people ordered looked good.
I like the venue a lot and also thought the food was outstanding. If I am in Lancaster again I would recommend this restaurant.
Chef Moeller, staff and family make every visit a memorable experience.
Great ambience and service. Calamari and the salmon special were outstanding. The crab cakes had more filling than expected but were okay. Sadly, we did not have room for dessert. It's a true gem of a restaurant.
Love the atmosphere and the food was excellent! Service was top notch.
Wonderful evening on the patio. The food and value is good but the patio is what keeps us coming back!
Top notch restaurant when visiting Lancaster County, PA. High quality gourmet meals excellently prepared. Great, varied menu selection. This restaurant is consistently good. This is our "go to" restaurant when going to a performance at Sight and Sound Theater (as is staying at the Hurst House B & B).
We had a reservation and noted we had 3 young children and requested to be away from others so we didn’t disturb them. They seated us in the middle of everyone, much to everyone’s dismay. Two of us ordered the quiche of the day but were served a different one - the waitress was annoyed that the kitchen didn’t tell her and even more annoyed that we didn’t eat it. I ordered the chicken and cashew salad instead - it was so bland. Two others ordered the same meal and it came out very differently. Overall it was a very disappointing, inconsistent experience.
Just comment, while I can’t complain about the quality of the food or the service, our hostess INSiSTED we had to be seated at a high top table in the bar because we had made reservations late
However, we arrived, there were many empty tables and when we left there were still many open tables both inside and outside
Very frustrating to have to be seated in one of the few high tops while there were so many standard tables available
Next time I will request confirmation of seating before going there
An otherwise pleasant evening was spoiled by an arbitrary decision of the hostess
The setting of this restaurant is very nice. However we ordered appetizer plates which we felt were way overpriced for four pieces of cheese, sparse fresh fruit and thin sliced bread.
No lumps of crab meat in either crab cake and whipped potatoes were Luke warm. The green beans were excellent. The salmon in my wife’s beet salad was very gamy and barely warm. The drinks were a little over priced compared to similar restaurants.
The wait staff was very attentive and responsive.
Overall, the restaurant is a bit pricey considering the food quality.
Was nothing like my first two experiences there which were great and why I brought my father there for the first time for his birthday. We will not come back. The service was bad and the food it's not like it used to be.
The food we had was amazing, restaurant was very clean. The main problem was the hostess was not very pleasant, was very short with us, and basically ask if we had a reservation and then said follow me. We went upstairs and sat at a table and she cleared 2 other settings from our table. She didn't say anything else. The waitress came to take our drink order and I ask if there was a drink list and she was very short and said right here and pointed to a menu on the other side of the table. From then on she was very rude with us and seemed the same with other patrons as well, ither tables were making comments also. The guys who were refilling water glasses were amazing. Sarah P if you see this you should find a job you like.
Food and service was fantastic. Crab cake was delicious. The pork chop was exceptional.
Always enjoy the food at Greenfield. Love the patio dining
I really could not say. We had reservations and never got served because accordingly they were short on help. We sat for almost 20 minutes before we even got a glass of water. The waitress said she would be back in 5 min to take our order and the food would not take long to come out. Another 15 minutes went buy no waitress. After 1/2 hour no ice tea, no food ordered, no waitress attention we left. Plus the pictures on the web and open table are deciving menu has nothing even close to that except maybe the ceaser salad.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at the Greenfield Inn! It was highly recommended to us by friends in the area who told us that this was the best restaurant in Lancaster County! Our recommendation to make the experience a total 5 Star experience, would be to either offer additional training to the hostess, or find another hostess! We both found her to be rather rude, and not a warm and friendly person! I say that because I had requested to be seated outside when I made our reservation. The hostess escorted us upstairs, not mentioning anything about outside, and when I mentioned it, she just gruffly said, we're not seating anyone outside! Not the type of person to welcome you to your establishment! We also had mentioned in our Open Table reservation, that we would be celebrating a birthday. That information did not make it to our waitress!?!
Great food and awesome service!
Wonderful Brunches. We've been there twice and will be going back.
Got there early and checked in but wanted a drink at the bar. The bartender was very unfriendly. At our time we went to sit and they didn't have a table. Had to wait 15 minutes and then were given a table next to the "revolving" door to the outside section. We should have refused it but we didn't. The prime rib was pretty good but my wife ordered a risotto dish and it was like glue. Service was far from great - had to ask for the bread and waited too long. We've been going there for 10 years when we go shopping in Lancaster but we won't be going back. Time to move on.
great food, great atmosphere, love going there. menu choices for everyone and nightly specials
Four of us went out for lunch at Greenfield Restaurant. We sat outside on the patio. Very pleasant . We each had a different lunch dish and all of us loved our meal. Mine was the quiche Lorraine that was very delicious. My friend said the burger was perfect. Another said the prime rib sandwich was terrific. My other friend also loved her quiche.
Excellent food. Service a bit slow at the beginning but we weren’t in a hurry. Overall very satisfied
Absolutely outstanding restaurant. Tremendous food and atmosphere. Very romantic!! My wife and I come to the Lancaster area often (and have for years) - but never knew of your restaurant....?? But we found it by accident one nite, and now are purposeful to make reservations and visit The Greenfield EVERY time we are in town! Thank you for a wonderful experience and great food!
Live piano was nice. Food was delicious.
Great food all-around. Our table had the short-rib grilled cheese and the other parties each had the shrimp/crab omelette. The outdoor setting was very pleasant. My only complaint was that we sat directly underneath the outdoor speaker, and that impeded our conversation a bit.
Excellent strip steak medium rare and Caesar salad with anchioves - service was courteous and professional
We ate on the beautiful patio. The service was unhurried but attentive. Delicious food and good choices for my famiky of picky eaters!
Great food and great service.
Would return, but not in a hurry. Concern with a menu item: Shrimp and Grits; not like any ever had, not traditional, very bland, limited flavor, and size of shrimp not comparable to price of entree item. Rolls served, had to request butter on next service trip to table. Four guests seated at a table with lighting only on half of table, eventually server turned on ceiling lights for adjoining space.
Not especially memorable, other than the waitress trying hard to fix whatever error she made on each trip to the table. She was nice enough but it was kind of ridiculous. Seemed like they should give her a day off. The food was fine but completely forgettable. We were seated right next to the bar but no drink menu or offer was ever made. Sad, I remembered this spot being so excellent as a kid....it is now decidedly mmediocre. And I never got fully checked in with OpenTable so I never got my points for the reservation.
When we were married 40 years ago, we spend a few weeks at different locations. On our second night of the honeymoon, we found this nice little restaurant that was a convert house. We found Greefield as we searched the area and thought it would be perfect for our 4 decade celebration together. Overall, it is a very nice restaurant. We asked for a intimate table or location (we'd read they have some). After being seated in this very secluded spot, we waited 15 - 20 minutes for a server. None showed. We asked to be moved and was placed in a very loud area (not so intimate) and had to ask again to be moved. Final location was OK but not what we had planned. The food was average to above average but not outstanding (French Onion soup was bland). The waitress and hostess were very pleasant and responsive. Not sure if we'll return.
Not the Greenfield of the older days. Turning into a local Hot Spot. Great menu and wine list.
My husband and another couple were there on Friday evening at 5:30 (waiter's name - we were seated in the room on the left and left of center?) and it was absolutely delightful in every way from seating to dessert! I have been to Greenfield many times for lunch and a few times for dinner - it never disappoints.
Food was not that good for the price would not be coming back
