The Greenfield is a charming restaurant and I was happy to be there again. It was my husband's birthday and it was just a perfect evening.
Service excellent , ambiance wonderful, food absolutely delicious and the best we’ve had in Lancaster. We brought friends from out of town and they were also impressed. We will definitely dine here more often!
Amy was our waitress and she was phenomenal. Our food was amazing and we had a wonderful night! The piano player is so talented and just really made our experience a wonderful one!
Patio is lovely. Food was not good, bland and overpriced for quality.
Good food and atmosphere, great service, easily accessible.
This is always a great place to meet friends. The service is friendly and efficient and the food is reliably good.
Food was very bland. Will not return due to the quality and taste of the food.
I brought some out of town guests for lunch and they were really impressed. They each had a combination that included the quiche and said it was the best they ever had. The service was very good. We will definitely be back for dinner.
Service was great. All the food was prepared and presented well. My wife had a filet with the potato du jour . She didn’t care for the flavor of the potato. I had pork schnitzel with spaetzle, Brussels spouts, and other things. I would have preferred the spaetzle to have been separate from the Brussels sprouts etc. But these are personal preferences. Overall an enjoyable evening.
Three of us had the specials - halibut and pork schnitzel. both were dry/overcooked and the kitchen ran out of the original starch - risotto. The one who ordered the special salmon was very pleased. Wish that the outdoor dining was offered on Open Table or that the website says "Call for outdoor dining reservations." We didn't know it was available until we arrived.
Food was absolutely delicious! Service could have been better. I had to ask for dessert menu and drink menu. Amy may be burnt out! Refresh and breathe She has the talent!
The busboy was a bit too attentive, almost hovering on our every move and asking to take items away with which we we not finished. Not a big deal, but he may want to scale it back.
Very Good Food was excellent and service was Great
Awfully generic experience and food. Terrible ambiance in the downstairs dining room. Menu for lunch is uninspired and circa 1992 country club. Will not return.
Dinner was excellent and can’t say enough good things about our server.
Excellent service. My dinner was superb but my husband’s vegetables were not cooked properly.
Outstanding halibut! Attentive service but interrupted diners' conversation.
The service was outstanding and surprisingly quick for a fine dining restaurant. There was live piano mood music. We enjoyed our experience.
One of the most tender filets I've had. My husband's scallops were outstanding. The short rib egg roll appetizer was very tasty but could use a little more cheese and onion. Great cocktails! Our server, Kim, was perfect. The new owner/chef has made some needed updates both inside and out. Very nice live piano music in the bar and it should be piped in to the other rooms.
Fine dining at its best. It was the perfect place to celebrate an anniversary.
Fantastic meal as always. My wife had the Seafood Linguine which is her favorite and I splurged on 2 Lobster Tails. Tails were good size (7 oz. each). Our waiter was very friendly and accommodating. Also got the cheese board to kick off the meal paired off with a couple glasses of wine. We love this restaurant for upscale American Food that doesn't feel pretentious.
John & Zach are great to see every time. If it's good enough for The White House, it's good enough for us, lol.
Honestly, check this place out.
Excellent but sad they no longer make their delicious peanut butter pie on dessert menu.
We enjoyed every part of our evening! The place is charming and you are greeted with beautiful landscaping! Nice ambiance inside as well. We loved the French onion soup & warm, crusty rolls. My petit fillet minion was cooked just right and practically melted in my mouth!! My husband loved his salmon, and our potatoes and vegetables were very tasty! We split cheesecake… ❤️
We had a wonderful date and all the food was exquisite. We will certainly be back!
Excellent food, scallops with corn risotto fabulous, pork schnitzel with roasted vegetables excellent. Best French onion soup ever! Only negative was loud business group next to us. Amy first class server.
There look was wonderful the outside and the restaurant below the food was fantastic and service to die for however the heat inside upstairs was unbearable we where sweating eating how uncomfortable was this. The waiter had to keep telling us he was sorry carrying a rag to wipe his forehead. Not a good look for a nice restaurant.
Thank you for taking the time to post this candid review. We strive to ensure that our service standards exceed your expectations. We clearly fell short due to a technical issue. We assure you that we have resolved the matter and will use your feedback as a training opportunity for our team, especially under such situations. We sincerely look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you back and will strive harder to exceed your expectations the next time you dine with us.
My Salmon meal was done to perfection and presented nicely. Their were 5 of us and everyone was very pleased with their meals. We were all very happy when we noticed that the menu has finally changed. Hostess and waitress were very pleasant and very efficient at their jobs. Always a pleasure dining at The Greenfield.
Amazing food, service and value!!! Everything on point and I frequently eat in higher end restaurants so I can make a pretty valid judgment..this is a fabulous place
We had a lovely dinner at Greenfield. The service was crisp but the scallops were not. Better sear on scallops would have created a ;ess mushy dish. Also the corn was scarce.
DH had spaetzle which was good. Everything was fine but not over the top delicious! I wouldn't rush back
We had the best server, she was amazing. The food was super delicious. We had appetizers, soup, salad and our Entrees and a drink plus dessert and our bill was reasonably good. We would definitely return and we highly recommend The Greenfield to anyone in the Lancaster area.
It was very nice. The food was very good. The service was good. Very pleasant staff. There was a hold up somewhere with drink refills during the meal. In fact we were finished with our entree and ordered dessert before the drink refill finally came out. Also, the glass was taken with wine still in it and more wine in the bottle on the table. However, the food was so good we will return and try it again.
Great food attentive service!
Beautiful setting and great "date-night" ambiance. Service was well intentioned and attentive. However the dinner salad gave the impression of having been plated hours before, and was made up of limp and soft greens. The lamb was done perfectly, but accompanying vegetables had no flavoring. The scallops arrived in a lovely presentation but the risotto under them was pasty (again suggesting preparation was at least hours prior to plating) and the entire entrée was bland - tasteless. Such a beautiful place to dine, but the food was disappointing. This is the first Lancaster restaurant review I have written where comments about the food were less than very positive. We will try lunch sometime in hopes that the simpler meals may be tastier and have a "just prepared in the kitchen" character. The pecan pie was delicious by-the-way.
Lovely building and gardens! Service was a bit slow but pleasant.
We found the Greenfield Restaurant to be an excellent choice to enjoy a fine dining experience. The decor of the dining rooms are refine, comfortable and most pleasing. The best part, however, is the well prepared food. We enjoyed our orders of French onion soup, fresh tossed salads and our 10oz grilled rib eye steak with tobacco onions, bordelaise sauce, fresh vegetables & potato du jour and our 6oz grilled petite filet mignon with fresh vegetables & potato du jour, both prepared perfectly as ordered. For dessert, we shared an in house prepared custard based sweet. We must note that our server and her assistant were most efficient and attentive.
Great atmosphere and wondeful food. Ate outside on the patio and it was perfect. We will be back
A wonderful dining experience in all areas! The food was excellent! The ambiance wonderful! The service was outstanding! We will definitely return!
Great setting to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday.
we come to this restaurant several times a year and the food and service is always wonderful
