The Greene House - Kierland Commons Ratings and Reviews
Outstanding food, good drink list. A bit cozy. I was most impressed by service. We had requested outdoor patio seating, within 5 min it started raining. We immediately went to hostess, who told us 45 min for a table. We decided to wait at the bar, and were shocked to get a table within 10 min, which was fantastic. The manager actually came to apologize and speak to us after we sat down. We loved our apps, entrees, and drinks. A trendy spot with great food, just try to check the weather if using the otherwise lovely patio seating!
Lots of places to eat in Scottsdale, but this is a great place. You can't go wrong picking it -- great atmosphere, outstanding service (Michael), wonderful food and food selections, and reasonable prices for the kind of place it is. My friends were thrilled with my recommendation to eat here.
The service was extremely slow - took an hour to get our meal from the time we placed our order and the server did not offer us bread; however she did apologize for the wait. When I made the reservation I noted it was our anniversary. Not one person commented on it being our anniversary and we sat at a small table in the middle of the dining room. I’ve been here before, and that’s why we came back, but this was not a pleasant experience!
This is probably my favorite spot to eat right now. All of the food is delicious, and refreshing in flavor. When you walk in the ambience is very cozy and romantic. I recommend sitting on the patio during a nice evening, because the lights from the outside add to the feel.
For appetizer the warm Brie is the best! It's very comforting food to enjoy on a cool evening. For entrees my top three are the green goddess salad, French dip, and salmon! You will not regret eating here, the only reason I did not give it three stars is because sometimes waiter to customer ratio is off and you may be waiting for awhile when it comes to getting drinks and order taken.
We really enjoyed our meal. Sat on the "porch" which promptly produced just enough heat after the sun went down. The server was friendly, informed, and checked in on us throughout the meal. Food was really delicious -- I had the mushroom agnotti and it was very tasty with handmade pasta. We ordered green beans and they were so fresh tasting and not over-cooked. Our desserts were also fun and satisfying. Overall, a complaint-free experience: noteworthy for us!
Food was great and overall enjoyed, however, veryloud around the bar, ask to sit outside or away from the bar, hard to have a conversation and at sometimes, couldn't hear our server...we arrived for a 6:30 p.m. dinner and about the time we left . . 8ish, it was much quieter...
Excellent!!! Great for health conscious eating.
I’d eaten here for lunch months ago and remembered it being ‘good’, so I walked in with higher expectations...and they were exceeded in every way!
Our server was excellent, she was clear, responsive and knowledgeable—and was happy to accommodate our changes.
The food was fresh, flavorful and well portioned. No giant portions so it was easy to (and reasonable) have a salad/starter and main course. I brought my mother, who is extremely health conscious and rarely eats out because of it, and even she found several dishes she was interested in ordering.
Great food and service but it was very loud inside due to cold weather and all the doors being closed and majority of guests eating inside. The bacon wrapped tenderloin was ordered by 3 out of 5 guests and was very tasty BUT kind of skimpy on amount of the potatoes served with it. The chicken pot pit was amazing and true comfort food.
One of the Fox concept restaurants, if making a choice at the commons/quarter I'd suggest the Greenhouse above and beyond true foods. This mainstay has been popular since opening and it's signature dishes remain popular. Also, Wednesdays ....are half price bottles of wine :-)
The sea bass was excellent as was the green house salad. The tempura calamari this time had too many veges, especially too many sweet potatoes. The asian inspired dip is quite good but the order is for calamari not veges.
Usually, you can find more than one thing to tantalize the tummy.
We took an out of town guest to dinner and they loved the meal, outdoor dinning, and atmosphere of Kierland. The outdoor heater made it very comfortable and we had a great dinner and you never feel rushed. Recomend for family and friends not a large menu but everyghing is good!
Very nice but casual restaurant in the center of the vibrant Kierland town centre style shopping area. Very creative food choices excellently prepared . Probably not the best place for kids as some of the half booth seating is pretty close together. Overall great place to eat.
The Green House overall was a wonderful dining experience. I was travelling for work, from California, and decided to have dinner here my first night. The hostess and my waiter were friendly , extremely accommodating and attentive.
I ordered the Kobe burger, a side of the brussel sprouts and a large pour of Cabernet (a California wine!) I can't do dairy. My waiter made recommendations for removing the dairy items from a few dishes before I settled on the dishes listed above.
I asked for my burger medium. Now true Kobe burgers usually have a richer, almost buttery flavor which comes from the slightly higher fat content. My burger was a little on the dry side. It was cooked a little over medium. I probably should have asked for it medium-rare. I wanted that nice juicy, pink center...alas, no.
The brussel sprouts and my wine, were amazing. Would definitely get the brussel sprouts again.
The wait staff and hostesses at the Green Room are lovely though. They made the restaurant very comfortable and inviting. I was a party of 1 and my waiter was so attentive. Little snafu in the kitchen getting my brussel sprouts out, but very quickly corrected.
I opted to sit outside and I'm glad I did. It was quiet and I was right on the street. Great for people watching! The weather was perfect that evening, however, they do have overhead heaters if you need them.
I will definitely dine here again when I travel to Scottsdale and would highly recommend it.
