Excellent food. This place is a hidden gem.
Treated friends to a birthday dinner in one of the few place left where you can have a conversation. Lovely piano player, tables not crammed together. Great service, food was good. Some less successful attempts like the poke bowl but overall enjoyable as usual. Wine list could use some more affordable options with less of a huge markup.
We are a party of 3 people visited The Green Room at the hotel DU PONT last Saturday. This is a beautiful restaurant. It has a very impressive architectural design and a rich decor. The white table close had a classy fabric and the snow white clean color. The service was excellent. The food was very testy. We had a memorable time at the Green Room restaurant.
Restaurant week salmon entree was delicious - good sized portion and simply seasoned, cooked perfectly.
Yup. Service over the top, as usual. Food great. Quiet lovely dinner.
This is one of our favorite restaurants for Restaurant Week. This year, however, was a little less than the usual perfect we've known in the past. Food was delicious, menu creative, attention to service lacking. Server was abrupt, not friendly at all, and never came back to see if our meal was satisfactory. It was not extremely busy, which might have explained the service. Food was delicious.
Sequencing of some appetizers and next course were out of order. Wine list was thin.
WE had a wonderful experience at the Green room at Hotel Dupont in Wilmington, DE. The room and the table was exquisite, and the service very personable.
Always an outstanding overall experience. The Green Room remains one of the finest locations for a special occasion not just in Delaware, but anywhere throughout the mid-atlantic region and the country.
Very nice. Good for special occasions and everyday dining.
We have been to the Hotel DuPont Green Room a few times and the food and service are excellent as usual. Highly recommended.
Our waiter was very helpful with any questions. Each and every course was outstanding. The atmosphere was very relaxed and quite elegant. Great place for someone who appreciates fine dining, pleasant ambiance and history.
One of the most elegant, unique restaurants I have had the pleasure of enjoying a lovely evening dining. The service, food, atmosphere and piano music was extraordinary. I loved the old world feel and the whole experience of the historic Hotel Dupont. My dining companions thoroughly enjoyed their meals.
Don't save the Green Room for only special occasions. It's the perfect place for lunch, dinner - any time. Great food, service and atmosphere.
Elegance of days unfortunately past. Lovely live piano music. Attentive service and excellent food.
I even get a cake ( for free) for my birthday
We had brunch on Sunday to celebrate a birthday. Emily was our server, she was extremely attentive, and knowledgeable of the menu and helpful to us all. The food was fresh and prepared very well. The baked Brie was sumptuous. Many appetizers offered were our favorites. We will return soon, great value and great service and more importantly great food!
I would. We were treated very nicely by all of the staff.
Perfect breakfast spot amidst the grandeur of the DuPont elegance. Our server Scott was quite pleasant and offered interesting tidbits about the room in which we dined. Great value for a memorable experience.
The food was excellent! Never fails to impress. Ambiance and decor is ever impressive.
I really enjoyed it. As a vegetarian, though, there were few options as a choice for an entree, but the buffet had plenty of fruit choices.
Food was wonderful. Wait staff answered all our questions and made us feel welcome. Great for special occasions or great night out!
Can't go wrong with the salmon - lovely presentation and cooked by someone who understands fish. Garnish was pleasant. My guest seemed to enjoy his lunch selection.
Our first visit to the Green Room was when we were married and our wedding reception was in the Hotel DuPont. We have returned a number of times, most recently for our anniversary. It was simply perfect. The oysters were uniquely delicious, the entrees could not have been better and the service is the best anywhere. The Green Room is a treasure and would be in any world class city. Wilmington is fortunate to have it. We only wish it was in Atlanta which is now our home.
Everything was outstanding with one minor exception. The service was great. The atmosphere was great. A very quiet and relaxing evening. The food was very good with the possible exception of the filet. It was cooked to perfection (my complements to the chief). However the actual cut of meat was not up to the standards of other filets I have had in the area. Although not bad, it was somewhat disappointing
Our food took an absurd amount of time to come out. We waited over an hour. This was a business lunch, as indicated on our reservation, and we were all late to our conference following lunch. It was embarrassing to have hosted our team there with a client from out of town.
I went with my family for lunch on Sunday. Lunch menu was unavailable. Had to go to the buffet and a limited brunch menu. Bagels were stale, no cut onions to go with the lox, needed to rotate the items on the buffet.
Food on the limited menu was good and prepared and served well. Great service people who worked in concert with each other to provide a dignified and professional demeanor. Priced on the high side, it was a nice atmosphere. Drinks were made and served well.
Overall, I'd rather come back to a full lunch or dinner menu to make a full evaluation. Secondly, my experience was over the July 4th weekend which could have explained the staffing and maintenance of the buffet table.
Great atmosphere. As always, outstanding ! Highly recommend.
Calm, quiet, impecable service from all staff, amazing flavors—the duck, the shrimp, the ribeye—soo delicious, not pretentious, relaxing, most enjoyable evening
This place is magical. Built in the 1910's, it is still as majestic and historic as it was when it was built. I highly recommend The Green Room and its generous staff for casual or special event dining. Thank you Hotel DuPont!
The perfect spot for upscale dining. We always go for our anniversary but love it for any date night and Sunday brunch as well!
My husband and I go once a month and we love it!
Highs and lows as any other restaurant.
I expected more in terms of food presentation and quality for the price.
On the other hand the restaurant itself is beautiful and the ambience is very nice. The drinks were very good! Service was a bit slow but good.
Would recommend this restaurant for special occasions, not for the food but for the place itself.
I'm being generous with my rating. This was a very disappointing dining experience. After obtaining our OpenTable confirmation for 11:30 am brunch on Father's Day, we received a phone call notifying us that there was a "online error" and no reservation was available until 1:30 pm. Given that this was the day before Father's Day I had to take that option. At $50/PP, the prix fixe brunch menu was neither varied nor interesting. Think basic omelette station, no crabmeat, prosciutto, feta, goat cheese or any special ingredients. Same with the buffet station: hot meat choices included roast beef, barbecue chicken or salmon. The salmon was overcooked. Hot vegs = carrots, asparagus and homefry potatoes. Asparagus was cooked to point of brownish color. The sole item that all in our party enjoyed was the crab cocktail. The desert station was equally disappointing: no brownies! no ice-cream for kids. In short, the selection was no different than what you would find at a mid-level brunch and definitely fell short of expectations for the price tag.
I expected exceptional service at the Green Room but that was not to be. I had to wait several minutes for my coffee to be refilled. Worst of all, after a very large party, which was seated in the center of the dining room, departed (~2:15pm) the entire staff began to strip down and rearrange the tables. So the rest of us guests were treated to the cacophony of their efforts and the neglect of our waiters. To crown it off, they next moved over to disassemble the buffet station.
The only positive is that decor is quite charming but I won't be wasting my $$ here again.
Great anniversary dinner: food, service, ambiance.
Fantastic ambiance and interior, food - great. Our server seemed untrained this time. Dumped beer into glass...
Seated in comfort with a commanding view of an elegant room, soft service, chilled rose, wonderful meal; a lovely Sunday night.
One of the most elegant dining rooms anywhere. Excellent food. Very reasonably priced wine list. Would recommend the bananas foster for dessert.
Elegant but not pretentious. Excellent food. Very reasonably priced wine list. Polished service. Would recommend the Bananas Foster for dessert.
