The Greek Kitchen
We’ve always enjoyed this restaurant. The food is always good and the service, friendly and excellent.
All the entrees we ordered we terrific. Portion size was large (and I have a pretty healthy appetite). We could have easily shared a meal and been satisfied, especially when you consider appetizers.
Either way, I still highly recommend the restaurant.
I met up with family while we were here. Everyone enjoyed the food - we’re all vegetarian & there was plenty on the menu for us. They were definitely accommodating - I asked to move tables since I was cold (right under the AC) & they moved us over as soon as the the next table opened up. The food was standard for Greek food! No surprises here.
Always reliably fresh, delicious food, always superb service, it's definitely my midtown west go-to spot.
We had a lovely dinner. My friend had the red snapper which she said was excellent and I had an appetizer of fried feta with olives and figs on top, something I have never had before and which was superb and then rib lamb chops, grilled perfectly with lemon roasted potatoes. Everything was top notch and the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and competent. I recommend The Greek Kitchen highly !
My chicken souvlaki was delicious and the staff was kind and attentive. I will go back.
Great neighborhood place. Good food and good value
Great food, lovely atmosphere, attentive service, and reasonably priced. Would advise reservation.
moussaka was burnt
Food was amazing and very reasonable. The wait staff was helpful and attentive. I would totally recommend this place for lunch before a matinee. It wasn't that far of a walk to Gershwin theater from the restaurant. I am definitely coming back here.
Get the Greek fries! So good! Wonderful service. I loved the gyro too.
We go there often and are never disappointed
Great value , good food- device was slow
I loved everything about this place. Haven't found great Greek food on the UWS and this was the perfect spot. Dinners are reasonably priced and come with hefty side portions. Would recommend getting the mix of cold appetizers to start and all of the plates are great as well (good seasonings and portion sizes).
Excellent experience in every respect - cuisine, value and service.
Love this place, I have been going there since it first opening 20 yrs ago.
In the city to see Hamilton, great place for quiet, great food and service.....
Visited Greek Kitchen a number of times previously and had better experiences. This time we were placed in a small dining room and the waitress seemed to have forgotten we were there. When we finally placed our orders, the food was a bit disappointing. We ordered the vegetable moussaka which was good. We also ordered a Greek salad with chicken. The salad was Ok but the chicken was very dry For desert we shared greek yogurt with honey and walnuts which was really good along with baklava which was cakey and not very good. Maybe as we went on July 3rd it was just a bad night pre Fourth if July. We will give them another try for sure
Great greek experience in NYC
Good food, highly recommend the various appetizers. Service was fine, and it’s open on Sunday.
Good food as usual, but the meal came out in minutes. The waitress rushed us.
The food was even better than I had expected and relaxing and friendly atmosphere with great views of the street. Great value in all ways
What a neighborhood gem. The food was great. The service was perfect - attentive, but not overbearing. This is a very reasonably priced restaurant that does not skimp on food quality and service. There are not many eateries on our "return to NYC" list - this restaurant definitely is.
The Greek Kitchen is a comfortable restaurant with delicious authentic food and an excellent selection of Greek wines to accompany the meal. I highly recommend it!
Great for small to medium sized groups. Love the gyro!!
AC and computers were out. Did not stay.
Prices were raised too much. Sometimes it’s hot is there. They need to keep the a/c on.
Good service and good food. Had the lamb kebab and zucchini chips.
Wonderful, including the best avgolemeno on the planet!
We enjoyed excellent and authentic Greek food here. The server was friendly and attentive.
Yes! Excellent Greek food with a big menu the has a variety of options for everyone.
Nice, quiet atmosphere
What a wonderful spot! The Greek Kitchen has a comfortable cozy yet not confining atmosphere, simple but tasteful design, and a friendly and attentive staff. I arrived before my two friends and was immediately seated. The waitress helped me choose a wine, letting me sample before committing. I ordered the Dolmades as an appetizer while waiting which was delivered immediately and tasted great. I ordered the mixed platter of gyro, befteki, and pork souvlaku with roasted potatoes, which included a side greek salad. My guests ordered the half roasted chicken and souvlaki. The food was amazing and the portions were generous. And the tzaziki is the freshest and best! Even though it is obviously a popular place, we were not rushed. I was able to enjoy a good visit with my young cousin and her girlfriend. I now would rank this up close to Niko Niko’s in Houston, which anyone familiar with it, knows this is a high recommendation! I will return next year when in NYC again.
My wife and I just enjoyed the whole dinner. Choices were excellent. Portions were generous. Service was good. Full bar. Food cooked just right.
Casual and relaxed with great food. Their fish and meat is particularly delicious. Quaint feel and the window watching seats were good.
If you disregard the terribly dissatisfied young lady at the entrance (who also walks around as if she is bored to tears), it is a great place. The food is really excellent (we spend months per year on the island of Naxos where the food is outstanding), especially the spanakopita.
Nice place for lunch and dinner. Friendly staff good food
This is obviously a place where a lot of regulars eat because of the number of people who the wait staff were calling by name. We were treated as if we were regulars too. The food was excellent and the service was attentive but not intrusive.
We will be back the next time we are in NYC and have recommended this place to some friends that are coming to NYC next week.
My friend raved about this restaurant. I found it lacking. I started with the Avgolemeno soup. I love Avogolmeno soup but this was the worst Avgolemono Soup I've ever had. It was a miss. Than I had the Bronzino which was okay but nothing that memorable. We had a desert which was phylo dough and cream in the middle (Can't remember it's name). Again it was okay. It was an okay (ho hum) dining experience. Also I asked the waiter questions about the menu and he couldn't answer but he did bring someone over to answer. I think a restaurant needs to educate their wait staff about the menu accross the board. Not impressed. My friend did love her Greek Salad and Vegetable Mousaka.
Excellent restaurant great service. Food was pure greek and provided a good experience compared to the normal burgers pizza etc you get in the area. Would definitely return next time we are in New York. Supplemented by good drinks menu
This is my second time here and the food was anf is amazing.
