The Greek Kitchen
lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, olives, pepperoncini, dolmades, crumbled feta, and vinaigrette dressing
seasoned with lemon, oregano, and parmesan
baked layers of eggplant, potato, ground beef, tomato sauce, spices, and topped with bechamel
We arrived through a friend who recommended the place. Missing service and the reason, one waitress served too many tables .. We were seated in a narrow aisle and in a tiny table that is suitable for a couple of children and not adults (probably due to the aisle space limit). The food itself did not glorify our much-loved Greek tradition.
After decades of sampling Lincoln Center area restaurants, we have finally found a restaurant where we hope to dine for decades to come. It starts from the moment you walk in. A helpful friendly staff greets you (even more surprising because of the lack of food service workers during the pandemic) and was quickly followed by the best martini I have ever had on the west side of Manhattan. The food is also terrific and authentically Greek. Get the whole fish but other items are equally good. And finally, the price is exactly right - fair and reasonable.
Food was good overall, especially enjoyed the octopus and the middle eastern salad though the spanakopita was a bit dry and slightly burned. Nice service and very quite ambience.
The Greek Kitchen was FABULOUS! Fantastic food and comfortable outdoor seating. The menu is varied and my Mixed Grill was delicious beyond belief and perfectly prepared. I had a light wine (Greek) that was lovely and my niece had an excellent herbal tea. They had a nice variety of teas. The Baklava was yummy. The Greek Kitchen is on my list of favorite restaurants!
I work in the area so this place is a go to of mine and it never fails! Food is always good and the service is fast even when they’re busy
poor quality food here not able to recommend unfortunately
No Air conditioning in the restaurant. It was too hot for comfortable dining.
Greek kitchen never disappoints. The food is always delicious. The service is always quick and friendly. The feta sousami appetizer is our favorite and the mixed grill. Great desserts and perfect cappuccino. Their new outdoor seating is beautiful and peaceful.
Awesome, Food is great!!
We ate outside - they have two sheds: one on 10th Ave. and one on 58th St. The service was outstanding, our waitress a delight.
The food was excellent and the portions - even desserts - were ample.
There was a faint sewage odor - we wondered if it might be from moisture accumulating under the wooden platform which makes the shed level with the sidewalk. And as the night wore on there were more emergency vehicles arriving at Mt. Sinai West, across the street.
Lamb kabob overcooked; medium rare arrived well done. Accompanying orzo wasn't hot.
Waited an hour for our man courses. Service was slow and the restaurant wasn’t very busy.
Amazing food! Great price!
Martina was a wonderful host. Food was tasty. We’ll be back to try more items! :)
Always very good!
I have to admit that I love Greek food but haven’t find anything exciting in NYC at least post pandemic. The place is good but nothing special. My Greek soup came in a creamy form. Never seeing it like that before. Nothing special very little ingredients. Meatballs were really good. Greek fries were saggy, both orders snd the octopus was chewy. The baklava was very good snd a generous portion and the Greek coffee was amazing
I’ll give it a second chance
The food was delicious and the service was excellent! My friends and I stayed a long time at the table catching up and the staff never made us feel that we should finish and leave. Will go back again soon.
It’s a great place for date night! Would do it again.
Best Greek in town
Wonderful, neighborhood restaurant. Food is fresh, well-prepared and delicious. This restaurant never disappoints and the only one I order in from. The calming blue & white decor provides a perfect ambience for a lovely meal where you can easily talk and hear one another. Sparse tables inside still honor distancing from other guests. Prices are excellent.
Our favorite Greek restaurant in Manhattan did not disappoint. Excellent authentic food at a reasonable price. The avgolemono soup is exceptional. Always consistently excellent food.
Outside construction on the street.
We managed ok.
Excellent. First time back after pandemic.
Outside dining was noisy…. But worth it.
We think they didn’t expect too many customers yesterday, my white wine was warm, my lamb chops was hard to o eat, wrong knife. The waitress and bus boy were very nice and tried their best.
Always been one of my favorite places to go for a stress free dining experience. It’s comfortable, we are outside on a beautiful day, the service was great, food was excellent and the prices are, for this rip off area, excellent. I highly recommend.
Always great food and service!
Delicious food and great selection of Greek wines, reasonable priced. We loved the whole grilled fish options and the gigantes were perfection. Also enjoyed a Greek salad, saganaki, and the Greek fries.
The service was a little slow but the wait staff was charming and we loved the experience.
Great value and a very friendly staff! Their outdoor dining setup was perfect, the food far exceeded expectations. Only complaint is they're not currently offering their weekend brunch menu!
Wonderful food and service
Disappointing. Appetizer was brought together with the main course.
Moussaka was tasteless.
I will not return.
Best Greek for the money in Manhattan. Fairly convenient to Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.
They had excellent fresh grilled fish and the horiatiki was wonderful. Greek coffee was perfectly strong and smooth. Attentive, generous service. Definitely going back.
Food OK, not great. Place very convenient, service good.
I eat here at least three times a year and they always do a great job. Keep up the good work.
I always love it here. Friendly staff and good food. It’s a reliable tasty neighborhood restaurant.
One of my favorites in all NYC. I livein the neighborhood and eat here all the time. They also deliver.
Food os always fresh and consistant, staff is also great!
