About The Greek By Anatoli - Yaletown
Thomas Makris, from the Island of Skopelos, fell in love when he met Helen Babalos. They met at Orestes Greek restaurant in 1974, while on a Greek dancing tour of North America. Soon after their marriage, they had a vision to open a place like no other in Vancouver; a Greek restaurant where everyone is family; where everyone receives a consistent experience created by delicious homemade authentic food and impeccable service. In 1984 they opened Anatoli Souvlaki in north Vancouver. In 2011 their sons Alexi and Iani took over the restaurant and early 2015 they expanded on their parents original dream, in a new venture with their cousin Daniel Bergman, Alexi and Iani opened ‘The Greek by Anatoli’ in Yaletown. ‘The Greek by Anatoli’ focuses on small share plates or “mezze”. So come and experience the Greek by Anatoli.

The Greek By Anatoli - Yaletown Ratings and Reviews
Service was just ok. The staff were polite, however in a practically empty restaurant, they didn't seem too fussed about making sure we got everything we ordered. They also didn't give us any pita bread, and we did ask for it.
The portions were on the small/conservative side. Vegetables are cheap, would have liked to see more salad included with the Souvlaki platter.
The other time I visited "The Greek" was for dinner, and the service and food was much better. I would be willing to go back for dinner service again.
Expected Greek music, or music more conducive to dinner, music too loud for dinner conversation. Food good, portions could have been larger for cost value. Excellent service. Tables too close together. Outdoor area looked okay. Not the ambience wanted for friends Birthday get together. Too casual- no Greek ambience. Did not want hockey game on tv. Or should have sat away sodudnt have tv in our direct vision. Was not what I expected. Probably only go for more casual lunch not dinner atmosphere
we were a party of 6 and our entrees were not serve at the same time and the bread for one of them took a while to arrive. the server wasn't that active as to look at our table so we had to ask for everything.
The food was very good so I suppose that compensated for the poorish service we received.
every time we come to the city we try to eat here. the best greek in the city by far, and the service is CONSISTENTLY phenomenal. my husband and i settled into a cozy table and filled the table with the most delectable dishes. the food came quickly and tasted divine. our waitress was the sweetest girl and accommodated all of our needs. i can't wait to return to the city to dive into another plate of saganaki. thank you greek by anatoli, you never disappoint.
I am surprised the food was decent, the only one that didn't met our expectations was the lamb chop. We asked for well done but it came in medium rare, the second one came in so burnt outside while inside still not well done. Other than that the food was good. Service was good and Server was nice.
Ps it was a cold day and they left the door opened. Pls close the door as it's getting too cold.
The atmosphere is really good and I think it would be a good spot to sit at the bar and have a couple drinks, but we were there for a dinner celebration and it felt like we were a burden to the servers. They forgot multiple items (which is fine), but when we reminded them that we needed certain things (spoons, sugar & cream, the wine we ordered) they seemed annoyed. The food was average and the Greek salad was overly stylish (why do cucumbers need to be spiraled?). Wouldn't recommend it for dinner, but a good bar in the center of the restaurant with TVs.
We had a party of four celebrating a birthday. Birthday was never mentioned and our waitress was so disinterested it was disappointing and off-putting. The food was good, but nothing memorable. The platters were big enough for two people which our waitress did point out which was helpful. We enjoyed ourselves and the vibe was good for chatting - music non intrusive which we appreciated. The experience could have been more vibrant if the waitress had been a little more cheerful and interested in the dinner guests dining experience. It was all just a little flat.
Wish we've been asked for the review prior to this time in particular.
Firstly, the manager who always ensured that every table is well served was not present and we believe our negative experience is due to the factor.
We didn't receive what we ordered and it came quiet late as well. But then when we expressed our concern they took away the order and told us they will fix it soon. And instead, our order took forever...
Therefore, as a result it ruined my meal as well because I was not comfortable eating by myself specially considering how hungry we both were as we didn't had our lunch.
Anyways, no one bothered to show any apologetic approach, remorse or compensated in anyway. It just appeared that the server was trying to stay oblivious. Which was very inconsiderate to us. My husband almost lost his appetite for his fav lamb chops. But , who cares...?
We missed the old staff of polite servers who cared.
Now consequently, we are totally put off with the idea of visiting again anytime soon or unless in sometime things change for the better.
