Family visiting from out of town. The food portions were generous and everything was tasty. Everyone enjoyed the souvlaki platter, crispy zucchini and Greek salad. We will dine here again.
I have now been twice and I can't recommend the lamb enough. It truly is outstanding! Also, their house red wine is delicious. You can't buy anywhere but in their restaurant so buy the bottle so you can take what you don't finish home!
I had a bad experience driven by very poor service, missing items from the menu and communication between the kitchen and the waiter. Food isn’t bad.
Really great food, amazing find and I look forward to my next visit.
The Greek was a very good place to have delicious food in a great area. Yaletown is wonderful and provides a vibrant and beautiful neighborhood to walk around. The restaurant is vibrant and modern and is kind of like a farmhouse with a modern update. The food was delicious, although expensive the souvlaki platter was filling and tasted quite fresh. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant.
Its very noisy and smoky! Service is noting special, We love the food though. Lamb is amazing.
Service was lacking - so much that upon even wanting our bill, no one returned to obtain payment- luckily we had cash on us so we could leave in a timely manner. Waiting 20 mins for our server to come back after drink orders were taken- need more staff. Usually has good service but this wasn't up to par to what level I'm use to receiving
Last Wednesday, my wife and I went the The Greek and were served by Graeme. At first, everything seemed awesome. You were out of 2 beers I wanted, but no big deal. We ordered food and drinks immediately. That was the last time we heard from Graeme for about an hour. Other staff brought our food out, but no one checked on us. We soon ran out of water, then drinks, then food. There were two tables on either side that received regular visits from Graeme, but not us. Eventually, we paid and left. Again, without being asked how things were.
Let me be clear, the food was great! It was ready quick, warm and delicious as always. I just don’t understand why we were ignored. My only guess is that perhaps because we’re younger, he assumed we wouldn’t tip as well. Our well dressed, older guests on either sides has no problem being taken care of.
I’ve honestly never experienced being ignored for an hour before. I contacted the restaurant, and a few days later I did receive an apology but so far, no explanation.
Took a while to get our seats, and were accidentally overcharged for our cocktails (they happily fixed this), but the food itself was, on the whole, quite delicious.
Our roast lamb, saganaki and halloumi salad were all executed expertly.
The rabbit kalamkia was supposed to have feta cheese in it but almost certainly had blue cheese in it by mistake. Don’t think they believed us, but no other way to explain the odd flavour.
On the whole, would definitely go back.
We booked our reservation for 10:45, as that was the latest time slot option given to us, but after arriving to the restaurant we were informed that they close their kitchen 45 mins before our reservation time!
This place used to be one of our favourites. No longer. What’s with the heavy and loud rap music at a Greek restaurant? It was awful, it never stopped for the whole meal and I left with a headache.
We were the only two diners in the place since we were having an early dinner but the staff were more engaged in chatting and getting their “side work” done than attending to us. I stood by the door with my credit card in my hand to try and signal we were finished.
The hummus was amazing as it always has been. But the souvlaki platter was a genuine disappointment. Odd seasoning - didn’t seem to be that Greek - is there somebody new in the kitchen? Greek potatoes should be moist and lemon/vinegary. Ours were boiled and burnt.
The meal could be summarized as the doggie bag was big. But this time, unfortunately, it was for the dogs.
Pricey for the amount of food. Not accomodating to people with allergies therefore there are limited choices. I 've had better Greek food and much better service.
Good vibe and patio but expensive for the food and service. Food is average, Greek salad is rhe standout. Drinks are on the higher end but happy hour is decent.
We were seated and waiting for the rest of our party to join us but after waiting 10 mins for someone to come by and take our drink orders one of us went to speak to the hostess requesting service at our table. A gentleman came by and apologized and took drink orders. For food, our orders were taken and the food took a while and when it did start to come out - there were long wait times between each persons “meal”. And it is worth noting that as we hadn’t been to the restaurant before, we didn’t realize that some of what we ordered was “tapas” and were looking for the rest of the food to come out. If our server had actually spent a bit of time explaining how things worked, our experience would have been much better. When we went to pay, we had to wait again. And headed to the bar to see if someone can take our payments. As we left, we spoke to the same gentleman who took our drink order and told him that for a Yaletown restaurant the service was below standard. For a group of us who only get a chance to get together once or twice a year and come from as far as Langley - we expect to be treated with mutual respect and courtesy. If our server was having a bad day, she should have given us a heads up. We would respected her more and have empathy as we all had a bad week.
Great food. Not so great service
Excellent dinner. We had a nice table. The meal was family style and the serving staff were helpful in assessing portion sizes for our group. The food was excellent and came out at the right intervals. We weren’t rushed at all to leave after the meal and encouraged to take our time over a complementary shot of ouzo. Fun neighbourhood to wander in as well.
Great service, very high quality and great tasting dishes
We have been long time fans and customers of Anatolis in North Vancouver and thought we’d venture across the bridge to the Greek. The atmosphere is really great and the service was terrific, especially upon receiving a very warm welcome and personal attention from Graham. He knows we are vegan so pointed out the selections that would be suitable for us. He also made us a delicious non alcoholic cocktail that is not on the menu. The food was absolutely delicious. Our friends had a platter that was plentiful and excellent value for the quality and quantity. We had fava beans and mushrooms that were to die for, along with a few other appetizers. I love the concept of this restaurant. A place to come and share various dishes in an upbeat and on trend environment. Thanks for a truly lovely experience. I highly recommend this place.
Great experience celebrating my dad's birthday with my sister. The lamb was amazing, and there was so much leftover, great value! Really nice touch when they brought out a dessert with a candle as well. Would definitely come back for another celebration, and maybe with more people next time.
The food and service are great. It was my second time in less than a month. The only comment I have is that when I was there the first time for late night dining the music was a little bit too loud.
Food was excellent. Nice ambiance. Service was not attentive. Still enjoyed the experience and would return.
We sat on the patio which is one big long table. It was very relaxing and the food was amazing. It comes as a Tapas so you are always eating and it's always fresh and hot. Can't wait to go back the next time we are in Vancouver.
We chose this restaurant because we love Greek food and have few choices back home. We were not disappointed! We tried the Saganaki, Tzatziki with avocado, watermelon and tomato salad and the souvlaki. All were delicious. Music could have been better!
Dinner with friend I book 6 but we end up 7 person and arrive earlier , we still have a table with good service.
- Good customer service
- Got food fast
- Super polite
The food was well done but expensive for ‘small/tapas plates’. The service was okay, asked to be seated outside and even thought tables were free, was told it was all booked out. Staff was not very attentive, just down to business and felt rushed. Sat inside, the place is nicely decorated but the choice of music was odd and on a loud side for the place/theme and occasion.
It was a lovely day and we sat out on the patio...it was just perfect. The service was excellent and the food just super good...will go back again for sure! Thank you Greek by Anatoli!!!
Brought a person working from out of town on a movie here in Vancouver. We were so smoked out by the poorly ventilated grill and it was a bit chaotic. I used to love this restaurant wont go there again for a very long time.
The service and food was good but the music that began at about 7:30 did not suit the venue. Loud rap - like music in a greek restaurant?
Great service as always and top notch food.
We’ve been there several times and even hosted my son & daughter in law’s wedding rehearsal dinner there and always loved it. This time the food and service lacked quality. Wine on menu is too young, server forgot some food and didn’t check on us after it was presented, salad was not as fresh and chicken souvlaki dried out. Disappointed overall.
Food was excellent, the restaurant little bit loud. Servis was okay. She mostly engaged with my boyfriend. Didn't even looked my face or smile. Also we were first table but our food came later than other tables. And asking for 18% of tips little bit much.
Great food! The souvlaki skewers were very flavorful and tender. I loved the variety of vegetables in the souvlaki platter. Saganaki was also great. I really didn’t enjoy the baklava. Not as flaky as I had hoped for. Otherwise a wonderful place with good service.
Ambiance is very hip . Music too loud . Lamb platter is very goood . Carb overload . Souvlaki platTeR were aLL ON dryer side spanakopita is good. Calamare is delicious cooked perferct. Keftedes hmm nothing special .
Was very loud , had chicken skewer the chicken wasn’t great
Abbey looked after us, and made a great suggestion for mezze-style dinner. Every dish was a taste sensation.
Thanks to Graham for looking after my first Friday night reso at our neighbourhood restaurant, great guy!!
Food was very good! Very accommodating, I had made a reservation and seating wasn’t suited for us and a baby, they had accommodated us no problem! Thank you.
We enjoyed a simple meal of Greek salad (excellent interpretation) and the grilled lamb chops (delicious chubby chops). Can’t wait to go back again with a bigger group so we can share more dishes.
It’s a small and delightful place. Go there.
