The Greek By Anatoli - Yaletown
Too many new staff members on shift + too many errors on orders. AC was blaring so we had to move tables as did the next 2 parties they attempted to seat at the same 4 top. Food was mediocre and wine was only fair. Too noisy and salty. Pass.
We had the vegetable Mousaka and Roast Lamb. Both excellent. Service was good and attentive. Well worth coming back for another dinner!
Celebrated New Years friends. Always a great dining experience. Delicious food and good atmosphere.
Birthday dinner. Really enjoyed the food, server great
We had another great meal here. Country lamb and spanakopita
Service was awful
We had a larger group and unfortunately the meals came out a different times, up to an hour apart. One friend waited for her meal after everyone was done eating, so the timing wasn't great. The server had warned us that the kitchen was small, but we hadn't expected that much difference in timing. Otherwise, the service was exceptional and the food was delicious. Probably better to go with a smaller party.
The food was great. Our female server was fantastic. Having visited for the first time she gave us a rundown of the entire menu and answered each question very patiently. The food beginning with the pita cheese option was insanely good. The Souvlaki platter was fantastic too. All four of us loved the total experience. Will definitely visit again!
Love this restaurant! My husband and I took my mom who has never been and for a person who is hard to please she absolutely loved it. We ordered the platter and ordered one of each skewer, the lemon potatoes are to die for and rice always perfectly cooked. It fed each of us just the right amount and left feeling good. Enjoyed some wine to pair and look forward to going back sooner than later! Thanks Team Anatoli!
They make their Haloumi cheese in house and it is a must try! I usually order one of their platters as it's perfect to share.
It's a busy and vibrant restaurant....great for groups!
Server was robotic and had no social graces... interrupted conversations, didn't tell us the specials, etc. Price point is too high for that kind of service.
It was my husband’s birthday and I took him here because he loves Greek food. It’s our first time here so I read a lot of reviews before deciding on this one.
When we arrived, we were greeted within minutes and got seated. We were seated beside the door to the washroom, so I can smell the “febreeze” whenever the door open and closes, but it wasn’t too much of a problem since it wasn’t bad smell. The table was for two people and it was alright.
We ordered food and drinks, they came pretty quickly and were good. The waitress came over once after the food arrived to see if everything was ok. Everything was pretty good till the end when we were about to finish. The waitress asked if we want dessert and we said no because we had other dessert in mind. She left and came back after 5 minutes with our bill. She didn’t say anything but just left it on the table for us and left. We took out the credit card and she came back again with the machine, took the bill and the card and started the transaction. Again, not a word, there was no “how was your meal?” or anything.
I was very displeased, not like we’re being cheap and order one entree to share. We had two appys and one big entree suggested to share plus 2 alcoholic drinks! Normally we tip at least 15% but because of the waitress’s attitude, we only tipped 11% because I feel she needs to understand her tips are earned, it’s not MANDATORY to receive 15%.
Can get a bit noisy, but food is awesome and prices are ok.
Great cocktails and good food. More variety of the menu (food and wine list) would provide a better experience.
Everything was good overall, but felt rushed to finish dinner. We had two servers coming to our table asking to clear the dishes with food on them.
Great food, nice variety for sharing. Service very attentive. A little noisy fir conversation, but that can happen on a Saturday night, right? Server allowed me to taste a couple of glasses of wine which I appreciated. Overall just a great experience and would definitely come again and reccomed to friends.
Excellent service, excellent food. What more could you ask for.
Always good food, sometimes s little too noisy
First time eating here. Really wanted Greek food and my husband and I had heard good things about this restaurant. Great food ... wow! The decor and services was also great too! So glad we came here and I we already talked about coming again soon!
Great food and service. But very loud and it shares bathroom outside of the restaurant with a bar (ie pretty disgusting)
FIRE FIRE FIRE POTATOES
We were really excited to go to the restaurant after hearing from friends really great things. The evening started out great and the service was good. The only thing that turned us off was the presence of two cockroaches on the wall directly behind us. Fortunately, they came into view once we finished our meal however it turned what was a great experience into a not so great one.
We arrived for dinner just at the end of happy hour and the server suggested to take advantage of the happy menu by stocking up on the bottles of wine. Great idea! Food was amazing and service was superb.
Food was good and abundant, however the tables were too close to each other making it impossible to walk by or get up to go to the washroom without interrupting the people on the table next to you. Also, it took forever for us to get our food.
First time here & an excellent find. Service was incredible & many of the food choices unique and tasty. Will definitely return
Excellent service and delicious food! We went for their taste of yaletown feature. Spoiler: it’s delicious and great value. They really offered highlights from their menu, lots to choose from, but just enough to make you want to come back and try everything. I wish The Greek by Anatoli all of the success so they can continue thriving and I can continue eating there for years to come :)
It was a great service, great food and nice atmosphere!
Was recommended by a colleague. Nice location and good comfort food. Expected better grilled octopus for a $20 starter, especially in a Greek restaurant. Was good but have had much better for the same price.
Most of the meal was good. Unfortunately, the lamb was overcooked.
We really enjoyed the food! They had a great selection and the staff was very attentive and friendly.
Fabulous cuisine, good service, friendly staff, nice ambience.
Family visiting from out of town. The food portions were generous and everything was tasty. Everyone enjoyed the souvlaki platter, crispy zucchini and Greek salad. We will dine here again.
I have now been twice and I can't recommend the lamb enough. It truly is outstanding! Also, their house red wine is delicious. You can't buy anywhere but in their restaurant so buy the bottle so you can take what you don't finish home!
I had a bad experience driven by very poor service, missing items from the menu and communication between the kitchen and the waiter. Food isn’t bad.
Really great food, amazing find and I look forward to my next visit.
The Greek was a very good place to have delicious food in a great area. Yaletown is wonderful and provides a vibrant and beautiful neighborhood to walk around. The restaurant is vibrant and modern and is kind of like a farmhouse with a modern update. The food was delicious, although expensive the souvlaki platter was filling and tasted quite fresh. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant.
Its very noisy and smoky! Service is noting special, We love the food though. Lamb is amazing.
Service was lacking - so much that upon even wanting our bill, no one returned to obtain payment- luckily we had cash on us so we could leave in a timely manner. Waiting 20 mins for our server to come back after drink orders were taken- need more staff. Usually has good service but this wasn't up to par to what level I'm use to receiving
Last Wednesday, my wife and I went the The Greek and were served by Graeme. At first, everything seemed awesome. You were out of 2 beers I wanted, but no big deal. We ordered food and drinks immediately. That was the last time we heard from Graeme for about an hour. Other staff brought our food out, but no one checked on us. We soon ran out of water, then drinks, then food. There were two tables on either side that received regular visits from Graeme, but not us. Eventually, we paid and left. Again, without being asked how things were.
Let me be clear, the food was great! It was ready quick, warm and delicious as always. I just don’t understand why we were ignored. My only guess is that perhaps because we’re younger, he assumed we wouldn’t tip as well. Our well dressed, older guests on either sides has no problem being taken care of.
I’ve honestly never experienced being ignored for an hour before. I contacted the restaurant, and a few days later I did receive an apology but so far, no explanation.
Took a while to get our seats, and were accidentally overcharged for our cocktails (they happily fixed this), but the food itself was, on the whole, quite delicious.
Our roast lamb, saganaki and halloumi salad were all executed expertly.
The rabbit kalamkia was supposed to have feta cheese in it but almost certainly had blue cheese in it by mistake. Don’t think they believed us, but no other way to explain the odd flavour.
On the whole, would definitely go back.
